HT1473 In iTunes 11 is it possible to import WAV files whilst at the same time converting them to AAC?

I've searched high and low and cannot for the life of me answer my own question. There are plenty of obsolete references to holding down option keys and clicking on something advanced but it's long deceased. iTunes is a monster! Help!
I've been rippng my vinyl and converting the tracks to WAV outside of iTunes. Now I want to bring them in to iTunes but in AAC and without bringing in the WAV files at the same time.

In iTunes prior to 11, Option (Mac) Shift (Windows), iTunes menu Advanced > Convert {whatever is set in Import settings}

Can no longer import 2 CD's at the same time in iTunes 10.5.2, what happened?

i was able in the previous version of itunes to be able to import two CD's at the same time from two different optical drives. instead of importing automatically from the pop up window i could right click on the CD under the devices column and click import and i could to that to both devices and was able to import two at a time.
then i updated the itunes and this feature is gone. i no longer have the option when i right click on the device to import a cd.
how do i get around this?
do i have to install a earlier version of itunes?

Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown asBackups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Reboot and it should go away.

You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size with the largest at the top. It may take a few minutes for ODS to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Is it possible when saving the psd file to have an automatic jpg file saved at the same time?

My work involves preparing images for printing lightboxes and window installations. My clients require to pre-approve the photos before printing.
I usually save my files as psd but since the files are very large in this format I usually save another copy as a jpg file that has a much smaller file size. This makes it possible for me to add these to a presentation and and send them to my client.
Is it possible when saving the psd file to have an automatic jpg file saved at the same time? Or do I still have to do this manually?

If you save the document manually as a PSD file in Phtoshop not from within an Action, Script, Plugin or Droplette. You may be able to write a Photoshop that would do as save as Jpeg, And you should be able trigger its execution by setting up a Script Save event using the Script event manager. When You do a manual save the script should be triggered. I wrote may be able to for I have never tried to write that script or set up a Script Manager Save event. I have only use open events.

In the US I have not seen a state that allows an individual to claim tax exemption...that is reserved for authorized institutions like public school systems. Only certain states do not have no-sales tax laws. When I lived in France, to be free from VAT one had to be a non-citizen and would be reimbursed for goods that were shipped out of the country upon exiting the country...not while still residing there. That was pretty typical of other European countries at the time, Pre-EU days, that is.

I am sorry.I mean we have a lot of projects (for example Procurement, Finance, Logistics, etc) and each of them wants to anonymize. But it is existing just one TDMS. Can these projects start with anonymization in the same time or they have to wait till one of projects finished anonymization?

Possible to use rollover caption & image at the same time?

If a user points to an area on the screen I want a caption to display (with voiceover) AND an image to display elsewhere on the screen at the same time. Is this possible? Is seems as though, because of the layering of objects on the screen, this cannot be accomplished?

This is normally where one would consider using a Rollover Slidelet. Basically you roll over one area and a second area is revealed. The second area would then contain the image as well as the caption.

LR import 2 card readers at the same time

It would speed up my workflow significantly if i could import from 2 card readers at the same time in LR, and import as DNG. As it stands now when I am really pressed for time I use the dng converter as an importer then import in place in LR. I would like to see one program in my workflow not 2 or some times 3.

8 GB of ram is enough but If when I replace my mac pro next month I am going to put in 32 GB of ram.
The whole point is to speed up the work flow. I have to create great images in very short amount of time every day. Today I had 1500 images and I had less than one hour to get the images out and I did not have the time to convert to DNG on import. Coverting to DNG on import slows the process down. So does importing from one card at a time. I have to go back and replace the CR2 files with DNGs on the server tomorrow. Like Seth Resnick says “workflow not slow flow”.

I have a classic problem here. I have been searching all over internet but I can find any solution that can fix both the problem at the same time.
You might know that to fix the error message 'itunes was not properly installed. bra bra bra... if you want to burn cd' then you have to add some value into windows registry which is 'UpperFilters' with value 'GEARAspiWDM', and that fix the error message problem.
But then... after that my computer can not see the cd-rom drive due to error code 19. I googled it and found the solution that say I have to delete the 'UpperFilters' altogether with 'LowerFilters'. OK! that would fix the cd-rom problem but then I would just go back to the strart! I have to torelate with the itunes error message again!
So... My question is 'How can I fix both problems? I want the error message to go away and also want to use my cd-rom drive at the same time. I have tried a clean uninstall and reinstall itunes solution but it didn't work and I also try instal an up to date GEARAspiWDM driver but it didn't work either.
Please help.

Possibility to import a file programmatically in the tag configuration editor

Hi,
I need to modify my tag configuration programmatically, importing new text files (the modifications involve for instance tag creations).
Programmatically, I can launch, stop and load a scf file in the tag engine, but how can I import a new file and save the .scf file?
I don't want to have any manual operation involving the tag configuration editor.

You will not be able to do this with the current version of DSC. The importing of text configuration to create the SCF file requires the usage of the Tag Configuration Editor -- which is unfortunately a manual process. (I don't see how spawning another app would help here.)
Anyways, rumor has it that Programmatic Tag configuration will be available in one of the future versions
