So when I import my CD in to itunes it automatically separates out the songs that have featured artists. How can I get these songs to show up on the album and not as separate single songs?

Join CD tracks
When you import songs from a CD into iTunes, you can group songs so they always play together (even when you’re shuffling songs).
Insert an audio CD into your computer’s CD or DVD drive, and click No in the window that appears.
When the songs on the CD appear in the iTunes window, hold down the Shift key to select the ones you want to join.
Click near the top-right of the iTunes window, and choose Join CD Tracks.

Why does my music from one album show up as two separate albums: one with all the songs in it, and another with two or three. Why is it that when i delete the incomplete album it takes the same songs out of the complete album also?

When I first imported music from my CDs onto my iTunes library, all the songs appeared, but those with the album artist and guest/additional artists they appeared in their own album under the same album name. After searching through iTunes help and support, I learned how to put all the songs under the same album (part of a compalition) and add the additional songs information, artwork, lyrics, etc. After getting all the music (imported from my CDs) onto the iTunes library and in their album. I synced my music onto my iPhone. (My iPhone is a 3GS)
Once the music was on my iPhone i noticed that the albums appeared in 2s again. One was the complete album with all the songs, song info, etc. together (solo tracks and/or one with multiple artists) and another album of the same name, artwork, etc. with 2-4 of the songs from that album. Since all I saw need for was to have the completed album on my iPhone, I deleted the album with only 2-4 of the songs. When I went back and selected the completed album, all the songs I had deleted from the incomplete album were also deleted from the completed album too! I just couldn't figure out why it did that and my my friends with iPods and iPhones said they didn't know what caused it either. So now I'm here with the idea how to fix this problem.
If anyone has a solution to this problem, please reply. It will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure why this happens, but I found a workaround. Below the album title it will list the artist(s). The issue seems to happen when there are multiple artists. For example, an Album titled "Over the Sea to Skye" has The Chieftains and James Galway as artists. Some tracks (for whatever reason) will list only one of these and result in the playlist showing what appears to be multiple albums. You can click on the artists and it will highlight. Paste in what is appearing on the other "albums" and it will then show as one:
Hope that is somewhat clear enough to help. Doesn't fix whatever the issue is but it is a workaround. For me this is only happening with CD's that I have imported.

what if i don't want the album imported to my iPhoto? what do I need to do? I get the same message every time I open iPhoto. tried to download for 3 hours and not much happened. all albums are on my iPhoto already so I don't want to download again.

Go into iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the MobileMe account. That should stop those messages. If they come up just click on the More Information buttion. That will circumvent the download and take you to an Apple website that you an close and ignore.
Also log out of MoblleMe in the System/MobileMe preference pane.

Incomplete album with 'complete album' price in the store

In the iTunes store, there is an incomplete album, that is, with only tracks 2,4, and 5 of a 5-song EP. If I buy the entire album, it is $5, but it doesn't appear that the other 2 tracks are available. Specifically, I am referring to Prairie Cartel EP 2 by Prairie Cartel. What is the deal with this? If I pay for the $5, I don't want to only get 3 songs if I could just buy them individually. Is there someone I can talk to at iTunes who would refund me or explain what is going on? Thanks!

Itunes splits my CD album import into 4 folders instead of 1?

I tried to import a CD album from my collection into itunes but instead of there being just 1 folder, itunes had broken the album down into 4 folders (1 folder with 10 of the albums tracks and the remaining 3 in individual folders); this results in itunes displaying 4 album covers for 1 album. Could you advise how to get around the problem? I've tried deleting the imported files and repeating the 'import' process but the same issue arises.

itunes does this when the CDDB Gracenote database has the CD listed as a Compilation.

BEFORE you import the CD again, Get Info on all the tracks in the CD area.
Right-click > Get Info and go to the Options tab.
Uncheck the Compilations box, then import.
Tell itunes to replace the copy you have now.

4 of the songs on a recently purchased album do not appear on my computer. I bought the album on my phone, and all of the songs are accounted for there, but on my computer it shows as an incomplete album and ITunes wants me to buy the missing songs?

I recently purchased Slipknot's ".5: The Gray Chapter" on my phone via an ITunes gift card worth $15 dollars. The album did have some trouble downloading because of a bad signal, and a good number of songs "could not be downloaded at this time". To download the missing songs, I had to go into ITunes store>more>purchased>music>all songs and click download on the few that didn't. This fixed that problem, and now the entire album is on my phone, but when the album transferred over to my computer, 4 of the songs still did not appear. Not only that, it says that they have not been purchased. The ITunes card I used only has a dollor left on it, so I know it registered the purchase. The 10th, 14th, 15th, and 16th tracks still have $1.29 next to them, and ITunes is showing the album as an incomplete.

We are having this same issue. We have over 200 songs that are now missing and only our most recent ones show up in our ITunes library. Fortunately we have one phone that still has all of our music still in tact. This phone is no longer one I will be using as I upgraded to the Iphone 6, and only the most recent purchased songs remain. The rest are no where to be found and the iTunes store shows that I would need to re-purchase. Not sure what to do as when I tried to sync my last phone, all the songs were gone.

I can't sync an album(imported from a CD)on my itunes library to my iphone 5?

I just bought a new cd, imported it successfully onto my itunes library so I am able to play the songs on my windows 7 netbook but I just cant sync them to my iphone5, when I connect the phone to my laptop and click on the music it shows the album there but it has the little symbol next to the songs on the album, like a circle with waves in it....? Which I think means it still hasn't synced the songs to the phone but whenever I press sync it doesn't sync those songs. It's so frustrating because this is a new phone and for the price I paid you think it would just work. Any ideas??

Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match you should not expect media ripped on one computer to be available on another unless you actively migrate your library to the new computer. If it is still on the iPad you may be able to recover it using one of the tools listed in Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device, or you can re-rip the CD (if you've sold or given it away you should no longer keep a copy of the tracks), or you can buy it again.

How do I change the title of an album imported into iTunes?

I have a new MacBook and I am now importing CD's into my iTunes. When I inserted this album I got a message about something being similar, I had no idea what it was referring to so I just selected the top name. I now have imported this album in with the wrong album name. How can I change the album name? I tried inserting the album a second time but it said the songs had already been downloaded. I have the latest version of OS X, and itunes. The downloads have been going smoothly until I did this.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Hey there,
Just locate the album in iTunes and control->click on it and choose Get Info from the menu. From there head over to the Info tab and re-name the Album title to whatever you like. Then hit Ok to apply the changes.
To highlight all the songs in the album at once hold down the control key as you click on each song or you can select the first song in the album and hold down the shift key and then click the last song of the album to highlight them all.

Adobe Album Import (bad)

I currently use Adobe Album 2 to manage my photography collection. I really like it, it's fast, easy to organize and allow sme to set up tagging so it's to find and export images. perfect. Except that Adobe has dropped the product.
Why? If anything strip out all the features from Album except the photo management! That's all peopel really want. Stop adding features and just create an organizer.
Is Lightroom supposed to be the professional photo management tool for Adobe? All I want is a good and fast tool to manage my library. I don't care about editing my family photos and most of the other features I see in there. That's why I have photoshop. I ONLY want good photo management with tagging ability. Speed is important.
I guess if Lightroom is all Adobe has to offer then I'll go with it. I tried importing my Adobe Album collection into Lightroom but it only partially worked. All the keyword tags came over, but most of the tags didn't have any images under them. Only a small percentage of photos actually came over linked correctly.
I'm certainly not going to switch programs if I can't import my Adobe Album collection. What's up??? You'd think Adobe would have an easy migration to the new software?

If Album works for you and you want to upgrade, the Album upgrade path is actually Photoshop Elements. After Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 and the Starter Album 3.0, Adobe incorporated it into the Photoshop Elements software as the Photoshop Elements Organizer. It will import your Photoshop Album 2.0 catalog with no problem and give added support for new RAW images with the updated Adobe Camera RAW. Lightroom is and never was meant to be an upgrade path for Album. It is a completely new product for a completely different type of use and user.
(By the way, I do agree with you that Lightroom, if it was going to include an "Import from Elements" option should have made it completely compatible . . . I've spent about 5-7 hours "fixing" my imported catalog and still have some problems that I am currently living with at the moment).

Photo Album Import

Hello folks, first post on this forum, thanks in advance for any help...
On a recent trip to London my wife took various pictures with her camera, then using a card reader imported them onto her iPad Air. She made an album of her favorite images, some she has worked on (cropped, used Pixelmator etc).
She has an album of around 85 images she likes on her iPad. What are some easy ways she can copy JUST this album of 85 images onto her Mac?
She is using the iPad Air with iOS 8.1 and her MacBook Air is running Yosemite 10.10.1.

One way is to copy them back to SD card then insert the SD card in your Mac (or attached reader) and import into iPhoto.

Elements 7 Scanning Album Import Issue

In the Elements 7 viewer I will use the ctrl-G command to bring up the Photo Downloader and scan 35mm film. Elements will then start my scanner software and the film is scanned then downloaded into my hard drive where I tell Elements to put it and Imported into an Elements Photo Album.
I have one problem with this process. On every scan I have to keep telling Elements which Album to add the scans too. It remembers what folder I'm dumping them in but each and ever scan I have to keep reminding it which Album to use.
To be clear, I'm scanning strips of 4. It will do an entire strip....then, the next strip of four, I have to remind it where they go or they will show up as not being associated with any album.
Has anyone elese noticed this? It's a real pain to have to keep telling it to dump it in the same album over and over.

And it seems that these videos can be imported without problem to the premiere elements.. I would just wanted them to show up also in the organizer.

PS Elements Album import from earlier version

I just upgraded to elements 12 from 8.
Besides not being as intuitive as version 8 was, my Album titles have been imported but nothing displays when you click on it and if you try to drag a photo to it get an error with no explanation as to cause.
tags don't seem to acts consistently either

First off, have you tried updating to 12.1 ? - select Updates from the Help menu
When looking at the thumbnail grid, do you have Media tab selected at the top? If you click on one of your album names do you get the message "No media to be displayed"?
It could be that you have a filter applied. Click on the All Media button at the top and then click on the album name again.
The problem with trying to add a new image into an existing album is usually resolved by first creating a new dummy album. You don't need to add anything to it and you can delete it later but it should then allow you to move new images into the album.
The way you filter by tags has changed since version 8. In version 12, if you hover over a keyword tag, you will see a small > appear to the right, click on that to select that tag as a filter.

Album import question

For some unknown reason my Itunes account is taking some albums that I import and creating separate albums for each song. Is this because I have numerous albums that I import with different artists on it? Could this be the reason that It's separating my songs into separate albums with the same name? What can I do to fix this problem? The same artwork on different "Albums" is taking up so much space. Please help. Thank you in advance.

Alternatively find a picture from, for example, Google images and save it to your PC and add it in iTunes as described above. Same process if the albums are available from Amazon. Either way will get you the actual albums with titles or just the portrait if that's what you want.
Not sure from your post if the albums you have are available in the iTunes Store. If they are, can't see why you can't get the artwork from there.

Can't find images in album imported

I have been using iPhoto for over 10 years now but I
just bought Aperture3.4 a week ago and i'm still trying to learn how to navigate around.
I created an album from a memory card but can't find the images inside the album and can't find the flag icon as well.
What did I do wrong?

It is still not quite clear, how you are importing:
Did you connect a card reader to an USB port, and use Aperture's Import panel?
When the Import panel showed you the files, that can be imported, did you press the button "Import Selected" in the loer right corner to import the image files to your library, or did you select your photos straight away and created an album from them?
If you did not press the "Import Selected" button, you did not actually download any images and the album you created will be empty. Insert your card again and make sure that the files are imported. Then they should appear in a "Recent project".
