I want to know if it is possible to burn an itunes purchased movie to dvd to play on a stand-alone dvd player? If so, what is the quality of the burned dvd? Using itunes 8.01, i believe.

No it is not, the movie studio's won't allow it to happen you can only burn it to a dvd as a back up that will only work with itunes

  • How can I burn more than 1 movie to a DVD when there is room on the disc for it. Premiere wants to overwrite once 1 movie is burned to the disc

How can I burn more than 1 movie onto a DVD? Once 1 movie is burned successfully to the disc, I try to burn another movie and Premiere wants to overwrite the first movie. One movie is 1.2 GB, second is 2.3; so there is room on a 4.7 GB DVD-RW.

What you report is what it is.
Each burn to of Timeline content to DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc results in the disc containing one OpenDVD Folder and one VIDEO_TS Folder.
Only one VIDEO_TS Folder can be put on a DVD-VIDEO disc even when Premiere Elements is not involved. I have seen that written about online, and I have
never found a way to overcome what seems to be basic behavior description of DVD-VIDEO..
Premiere Elements will allow you to write to a disc with content already on it, but only after you give the OK for erasing the disc content before going ahead
    with the burn to.
If you have several movies, one possibility is to build a Timeline with the movies, use stop markers, and setup disc menus according so that the viewer
can selectively watch the movies. More on that later if wanted.
Any questions or need clarification, please ask.
    Thank you.

You should certainly be able to add content by reference to itunes from such a disk (even before the update) - so long as itunes knows the location of the file (set Preferences not to copy to local library when adding the media) it will stream it to AppleTV if the disk is available.
I hope you're right, but I'd be surprised if current Extremes can be upgarded to provide a full Home Sharing service - marvellous if they can but I'd be surprised as i've long said we need an Apple media server either based on TC or AE to do this kind of thing.

  • Can I use LaCie Multimedia disk to see in TV, iTunes purchased movies?

Can I use LaCie Multimedia disk to see iTunes purchased movies in TV?
I share files from iTunes in my local network by authorising 3 computers, but none of these have HDMI connection to TV.
Can I use LaCie multimedia hard disk to store de movies from iTunes and connect then the Lacie disck to TV via HDMI?
Once I did it by simply copying an .m4v movie with no result. Also I think some downloaded file from iTunes blocket the HDMI conection to TV.
Any suggestio or experience...? I know that Apple TV is one solution but I don't want a new artephact and more HDMI connections. (BlueRay, TDT, iPlus etc.)
    Thanks in advance.....

I have the same problem on my Toshiba TV. Cyrillic subtitles cannot be shown properly. Even symbols like ?, ?, or cannot be shown properly.
Until now I didnt found solution to this. Reading some other forums other people have described the same problem for Spanish language ( ).
Firmware is installed to the latest version but problem is still there.
By the way: can you please test this method and let me know if this works for you.

  • Can I watch iTunes-purchased movies from an Airport Extreme USB disk?

With the newest Airport firmware (7.6.1), it seems I should be able to do this.
My scenario is so basic, I can't understand why I'm having trouble achieving this.
    - I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.2 - since it's a laptop, I don't want to leave it on all the time.
    - I have an AirPort Extreme with a USB disk on it (that I use for backing up my MacBook), recently upgraded to newest firmware 7.6.1.
    - I have a recently purchased Apple TV hard-wired to the AirPort running firmware 4.4.4.
    - I have purchased movies though iTunes on the MacBook Pro.
I want to watch my iTunes-purchased movies on my Apple TV even when my MacBook Pro is sleeping. That is, I would like the movies to be accessible via iCloud, or stored on the USB disk connected to AirPort Extreme, or something/anything.
It seems obvious to me that with an all-Apple set up, and iCloud, this should be easy to achieve.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks,
    j

  • ITunes purchased movies do not run on macbook pro retina display - Error message: HDCP not supported.

    Hello community,
If i try to play a iTunes purchased movie on may Macbook Pro 15 Retina, a Error message comes up "HDCP not supported". I try to run it on the notebook screen, I have not plugged in any external device (monitor, beamer..).
    Full Error message in german:
Der gewählte Film kann auf dem angeschlossenen Bildschirm nicht wiedergegeben werden.
Dieser Film kann nur auf Bildschirmen wiedergegeben werden, die HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) unterstützen.
    Any ideas?

I had this same problem.  What worked for me- not sure which one did it, but I went to System Preferences-Displays, and I turned off "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" and I also changed my resolution from "Best for retina display" to scaled "More Space".  The other scaling options seemed to do similar.

  • HT5731 how do i download a itunes purchased movie onto a flash drive

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD AN ITUNES PURCHASED MOVIE ONTO A FLASH DRIVE

If you want to back it up to the flash drive, download it normally, locate the downloaded file, and drag it there.
If you want the active iTunes library on the drive, locate it in the Finder or Windows Explorer, drag it there, launch iTunes with the Option(Mac OS X) or Shift(Windows) keys held down, and point it there.

When I try to play an itunes purchased movie it says I have to authorize this computer. When I put in my log in information it says this computer is already authorized and will still not play the move. I have tried to deauthorize and reauthorize this computer, delete and reinstall itunes and Quicktime and nothing works; the purchased movies still will not play

I'm having the same problem on my new iMac.  First it tells me it's not authorized to play the songs, then when I enter my password, it tells me it's already authorized, but still won't play them.  I tried deleting a song and going to the store to redownload it and got charged for it!  I've got hundreds of songs, so that's not going to be an option.
In addition, I have quite a few songs from a very old Apple ID, one I forgot I even had, I have no idea what the password was and no way to have the system send me a new password because I no longer have access to that email account.
The Mac I just "retired" could play all the songs in my catalog just fine.  This new one won't play the majority of them.
    Help!

  • ITunes-purchased movie won't sync to iPod

OK I'm going insane trying to find a solution to this problem - I recently purchased a movie from iTunes store, and it works fine on iTunes, but when I try to sync it to my 5th-gen iPod I get an error message saying that it can't be synced because it can't be played on my iPod. Obviously it is the correct format, because I bought it from iTunes, but to verify I checked all the formatting against 2 other iTunes purchased movies that DO work on my iPod - they are identical, the only difference being the 'Fairplay' version (the ones that work are version 2, the one that won't sync is version 3). I've trying resetting, restoring, reauthorizing... nothing works, I still get the same error message. Yes, it's a purchase, not a rental, and no it isn't HD. And of course there's space on the iPod and all the sync settings are correct, and the iTunes and iPod software are all updated. I tried mailing the iTunes support, but they just sent me a link to the article on the Support pages about syncing movies, which is completely useless for iTunes purchases because it just says they should all work.
Please tell me someone knows a solution to this problem!

Which version of the firmware do you have on your iPod? Is it the latest (1.3), or earlier? I ask because of the information regarding Fairplay version 2 versus Fairplay version 3 on this website:
    http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=231582
"1.3 firmware has bug fixes and also an updated bit of code to play anything from the iTunes store that has a fairplay version 3. Most stuff on iTunes has Fairplay version 2, but some more recent videos have version 3. If you arent' downloading a lot of DRM'd content from iTunes, it likely isn't critical, but there have been no major complaints about the 1.3 update. At least compared to other updates. for instance 1.2 WAS a shoddy update. They pulled it. 1.2.1 fixed it... But nothing much else added to 1.3 if you are having no problems currently and don't have any fairplay 3 items in your library."

  • Possible to burn iTunes purchased "Lost" episodes to DVD?

My "Lost" habit has come to a crash because I've missed an episode. On a whim, I bought this particular show from iTunes. Upon later reflextion, the wife just won't be interested in watching a TV show on our somewhat dinky little monitor. Is there any legal and somewhat easy way to burn this 40 some minute show to DVD using iTunes, iMovie, iDVD or i-anything? Just monkeying around on iTunes, there didn't seem to anyway to do it. If I can't watch what I just purchased on our TV, I think this'll be the last $1.99 that apple gets from me.
    Brian

Sorry, but Apple has put strong copyright protection on the video downloads. I guess there would be no legal way to do it, but that does not mean that it isn't possible.
    Hope this helps

  • Is it possible to burn my iTunes playlist to a SD card?

I cannot seem to transfer (burn) an iTunes playlist to a SD card. I eventually want my entire library on SD cards to free up space on my MacBook Pro and iPhone. My Jeep does not have a CD player. Just Bluetooth and SD card slot. So CD format is not an option.

You should be able to copy via drag and drop to the SD card - I don't have any SD cards to play with, but it works for me going to USB drives.  I don't have any experience in this, but I'd expect problems with syncing your iPhone if you remove songs from your Library.
What you'll need to do is put iTunes into Song view and select the playlist you want.  You'll need to copy the individual songs - Dragging the name of the playlist won't work.
    Good luck
