When downloading a CD album, if it contains different artists, the album is split up into separate albums/icons. How do I get all songs into one album (just like the original CD)?
Generally, in iTunes, all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist to keep things together. For older iPods each track from the same album should have the same artist, or be marked as a compilation where appropriate. For iOS devices you may need to go to Settings > Music > Group By Album Artist > On.

I have 1 album that is listed twice on the albums list. I have 2 songs on one and one song on the other. I cannot get them all on just one. I have checked all the info on the info tab and everything is the same. I have copied all the songs in one file on my desktop and deleted everything from itunes and my music folder and when I add it back to that artist it adds two. The only thing that is different is one song was downloaded on itunes and the other 2 were from a CD.
selected all the songs and when to get info and retyped the name of the artist and the artist album and fixed it like blood sugar sex magik.how about the less painful click the first song then shift-click the last song?

Say yes to the message that you want to change info on multiple items.
Fill in Album Artist = Various Artist (or Camelot Artists, whatever you choose)
Go to the Options tab and check Part of a Compilation = No

can anyone help with this please? i feel its wrong to have to pay Apple £25 for something that should be more obvious and easier to do.
Go into the iTunes preferences and turn off the options that have you Copy Music To My Library.
Then, add the top folder which contains your music to iTunes - it will create links to your remote folder rather than copy all music to your netbook.

I am about to scream if I don't figure this out or just decide to leave Apple and get a Galaxy phone. On itunes, when synced to my pc, I show less than half of the music that is on my iphone 4. How do I get all the music onto my pc? I have read many forums and tried many things, but apple/iTunes is not intuitive at least not on a PC. When I go to devices it won't let me select "transfer music". It's grayed out. Why is this and what can I do? I'd like to delete some of the music off of my iPhone but don't want it gone forever. Pleae help.

I appreciate your response. I have done all of the things mentioned, but still when I click on "devices", the "transfer music" option is still not selectable. I see it, but can't select it. I am running Windows 7 on my PC.
However, one thing I read makes me take pause. At one point I did erase my computer back to factory settings using the mirrored image. We backed up all information and put the important stuff back on, but I don't believe we did anything with iTunes, so it's a possibility that the music that is in my library now, may only be music I have purchased since then. But, (thinking out loud) that was a while ago and I am pretty sure I have purchased more music than what is in my iTunes library, since then. Maybe I will approach it from that angle and see what happens.
It just doesn't make any logical sense that syncing goes from computer to device. Ostensibly then, my iPhone would only have the music that is on my computer after syncing and that is not the case. I still have all my music on my phone. I can see the new music that's on my phone get added to my iTunes library when I connect, which would make one think that syncing occurs both ways. I don't know. It's maddening. Maybe I should just follow my husbands advice and go to an Android. LOL. Or maybe I will take my laptop and phone to the Apple store and make them figure it out. Ha.

I have an album and the iTunes split it into separate songs. How do I save them back to one album?
Please help its keep happening. I installed and reinstalled I tunes several times, but no change.This is a tagging issue and usually happens when songs on the album have different artists.
Setting a common Album Artist will usually correct this.
If it does not then make sure all the other fields for the songs on the album are the same, obviously, except for title and track number.

How can I get itunes just to play albums from beginning to end? Often if an artist has a guest artist, or there are 'various artists' on the album, it stores them all separately, so listening from beginning to end becomes not one click away, but a multitude of clicks away just to make a play list which returns the album to its original state. Why can't Apple do this as a default?
If your music is sorted by "Albums", even a compilation is a single click.

How do I transfer imported songs, to one Album?
Hello, and sorry if this is a terrible, easy question to answer.
I recently purchased my new iPod, nano to be correct, and started to import songs. When I imported from a CD, it came up as:
Track 1
Track 2
Track 3
etc.
I want to convert, al this music into a album, how do I do this?
Many thanks.With the CD selected try using Advanced > Get Track Names. If that doesn't work you'll have to input the data by hand. Each album needs, at minimum, a common Album title and Album Artist. Right click on the CD and Get Info to set these, then use Get Info on a single track and the next/previous buttons to enter the individual track names.

How can I erase all photos in one album at once.
Over the years 25.000+ photos are on my Mac filling up the hard drive.
I want to store a big number on my server, but keep some on the Mac. So I made Albums with assorted pics that I want to store in the server in groups to find them back. I export the Album, no problem. But now I want to delete them in iPhoto. In order to do that, it looks like I have to click again on every single photo in the mediathek. I cannot erase the whole album. What is that. One has to get bigger and bigger Hard drives only to keep the 1000s of foots that get collected or spend days of finding them in the whole collection.

Well let's reassure you about that. Just like everywhere on your Mac:
Click to select
Command-click to add to the selection
If the items are contiguous then click on the first and the hold the shift key and click on the last. All the items between will be selected.
Command-a will select all the items in a folder or Event or Album.
And, of course, drawing the cursor across items will select them too.

Well you don't erase albums, you move their contents to the trash. In iPhoto: alt-command-delete will move all the selected items to the trash. Then empty the trash. Then, if you're using iPhoto 11, empty the system trash.

Select all the tracks, Get Info., give them a common Album name and Album Artist.

Choose the bookmark that you want to displayed and transfer them to "Bookmark Toolbar". You will able to see the bookmarks that you want to displayed.
