HT1473 Why won't Itunes 10.6.3.25 add ACC files to the library?
The files were converted with ffaac and have the extention ".aac"
I have verified the integrity of the files with mplayer.
According to Apple: "You can add audio files that are in AAC, MP3, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless, or Audible.com (.aa) format."
The Mac version of iTunes doesn't convert WMA files. Use a third party tool or convert them on a Windows system.

I'Ve now changed the FTP client, from Transmit to Cyberduck, and can now add new files to the library. All files transfered via Transmit however remain unacceptable to iTunes. It is a pity, as Transmit is much faster and user-friendly.

No major problem, just takes a lot of unecessary time. Whenever i do either of the following functions of adding a video, book, or a music file. Itunes keeps checking for the previously deleted files on the ipad and i dont know why. My problem is that if i just want to add ONE single file i will take more time because it does that silly thing. Any suggestion why this happens and how can be fixed?
My current settings are:
(TICK) Prevent ipad from syncing automatically,
(TICK) Manually manage music and videos,If it's any consolation i've just had a similar thing happen. Went to add a playlist and it wiped 35 gig of music off my iPod touch 64g in a nanosecond. I've got the latest iTunes and osx but do not back up because i keep different styles of music (and loads of it) in separate libraries and devices which i don't want mixed together. All my stuff is burned from cd so it's not lost for good and i've got a hard drive with the "lost" mp3 music on it but even so it will take literally weeks to prune the tracks for my iPod to be the same again. Why do they make it so difficult to manage your music on these things. I have massive amounts of music on my computer so autofill is a disastrous unusable gimmick to me. The whole thing seems to be aimed at 9 year old kids with about 6 mp3's on their phone rather than serious music lovers (for example accessing EQ is a joke let alone the lack of a manual option). I'm a dj and use apple for that reason but to be honest i'm beginning to wonder why. I'm absolutely livid. The weird thing is that my mac still shows the titles of the missing tunes in the 'on my device' window but as my macbook storage display shows no increase i'm pretty sure it's all gone. Nightmare. I have no confidence in this device anymore and could barely use the previous osx 8.2 anyway. Why they have to change it every ten minutes is beyond me. As the old saying goes 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' but this format just gets more broken every time they update. An absolute disgrace. Why not just drag and drop or delete. No wonder the iPod is said to be a dying device, it's for music, it is not a phone. Not fit for purpose anymore. I can't be bothered to read a massive 'how to use' article every update. Good technology should be easier and more intuitive with each new version. I suppose i'll have to phone apple at my expense to find out what's going on, or maybe that's the whole idea. Very very very not happy.

HT1473 Why won't iTunes import my WMA files when I add a folder?
I had been using iTunes on a Windows 7 machine, and it would import WMA files with no problem. I decided to move to iTunes on my MacBook Pro, and iTunes will only import the files that are already in mp3 format. It just ignores the files that are in WMA format.
The Mac version of iTunes doesn't convert WMA files. Use a third party tool or convert them on a Windows system.

Why won't iTunes show every single episode of a podcast in the iTunes store?
I've been listening to a podcast for a while now and I wanted to go back to the first episode to see how it all started. I went into the store but when I went to watch the first episode... It stopped at episode 287 and said "total: 301 items" even though I know that's false because there are obviously other episodes missing... I just want to retrieve earlier episodes from the store or if I'm screwed.
try changing USB ports. if that doesnt work and you have restarted the computerand itunes is up to date, uninstall itunes in the order of the article below.

ITunes won't add large files to the library
I use software to convert my personal DVDs into Apple TV format via H.264 decoder for 720p resolution. The resulting files are typically larger than 3GB for a 2 hour movie. Now iTunes won't add them to my library so I can't sync them or stream them to my Apple TV.
Any advice? Is there a setting in iTunes that I overlooked?
I have tried the mpg4 conversion setting for 480 resolution and those files will load into iTunes and stream to Apple TV, but they are grainy and a horrible quality. So for those saying I don't need to use the H.264, I am picky and want a high quality resolution.

Sounds odd, they may be corrupted.
Try enusring the file extensions are either .mp4 or .m4v (or .mov perhaps).
3GB+ for a file intended for AppleTv 2 hours long sounds excessive and may exceed AppleTv playback specs but it shouldn'tbother quicktime. If the files don't open in QT they may well be corupted. -
Everything is up to date! Why does my iTunes crash every time I try adding files to my library?
Every time I try adding music to my library, my iTunes freezes (pinwheel)! Everything is up to date and my laptop is fairly new! Any suggestions? Is it because of maverick and the latest iTunes update?

ITunes no longer plays automatically when you add mp3 files to the library
Since the latest version of iTunes (8) it no longer automatically plays a song when you double-click the mp3 icon outside of iTunes. Let's say I've just downloaded a mp3 file to my desktop. When I double-click the file icon to get it to play in iTunes the mp3 file copies into iTunes but then sits there waiting for me to click Play. This never used to do this - I keep looking through the settings but I know I've not changed any of them, and I can't find anything to fix it either! please help!

Why won't iTunes 11.0.1 sync my Podcasts to my 3rd Gen iPod Touch on IOS 6.0.1? I'm running iTunes on my MacBook with Mac OSX 10.6.8. I've checked to make sure in iTunes that the Podcast Sync box is checked and it is. I've tried checking communities and tried several suggestions and nothing seems to work for me. Everything else syncs except Podcasts. I can't figure it out. Any suggestions to get Podcasts syncing to my iPod Touch again? Thanks!
One other step I've tried was removing and completely reinstalling the playlist to the iPod. That cleared up the problem for about two days.

Why won't itunes load on travelmate 290
I have an Acer Travelmate 290 and although I can download iTunes on it, it refuses to work properly.

Why won't Itunes let me use my store credit to gift an item
I want to gift a couple songs to my boyfriend, but when i try to gift the songs it asks for my credit card information. i have over $100 in itunes store credit from gift cards. i want to use that money to purchase the songs i will be gifting. why won't itunes allow that? i looked up tutorials and gifting should be easy and all you submit is the other person's email but thats not happening for me.
