HT1476 iPhone charge icon while plugged to a Mac

Hi,
The charge icon says "charged" on my iPhone, but "charging" on iTunes from time to time. I'm worried that my battery is draining in and out as I keep it plugged to my Mac. Please let me know what you think !
Best,
Antoine

This can be the findings of a poor charger, or a faulty battery. Also the USB Cable has to be good. Try the Wall Charger, if it works perfect to charge the iPhone, then the iPhone is OK. If problems occur with Wall Charger too, then the iPhone is faulty, most likely battery. If this is the case and if there is Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation and take or send iPhone for resolution.

  • My iphone 4s will not show the lightning bolt on the battery icon while plugged in

My iphone 4s will not show the lightning bolt icon while plugged into either the wall or the computer. It shows between 1% and 4% charge. I have reset, and done a factory reset, and this has not fixed the issue. My computer will not recognize the device. While off, the iphone shows that it recognizes that it is plugged in, but i cant tell if its charging because the lightning bolt will not show. Please help.

  • HT1476 iPhone charges on dock connected to laptop but not dock connected to wall charger

I used to charge my iPhone at night connected to a wall charger.  Sometimes I would get an inverted yellow triangle with the message that the device di not support charging, but it would still charge. Now for some reason it gives the message and really won't charge.  I have bought a dock to see if it was the wall charger but although the dock works fine when connected by usb to the laptop, I still can't charge when connected to the wall charger.  It is an intermittent problem so I don't think it has anything to do with a dirty connector.

Just to let everyone know, I bought an apple plug and that has solved the problem.  Not only does it charge without query but it's twice as fast.

  • IPhone 3g DIES WHILE PLUGGED IN

I had this problem with the last two iPhones Ive had, i often talk on the phone at night for quite a few hours. I plug my phone in while im talking but the battery still runs down, and sometimes eventually dies after a few hours. Im in a 3g area, and am never on edge, not connected to wifi, and ive tried with the case off to eliminate the extra heat buildup. Any help would be awesome. Just got the newest phone three days ago, battery should be fine.

Your iPhone is plugged in to your computer or to the wall charger when doing so?
If plugged in to your computer when doing so, do you have your computer set to sleep or standby mode after a period of inactivity? If so, the following was coped from this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
Connect the device to your computer (not your keyboard) using the included cable to charge the battery and sync. Your computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If the device is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
If the iPhone's internal temperature exceeds a designated temperature when being used while connected to a power source, charging will stop to protect the battery until the internal temperature is reduced.

  • Ipod touch 4g ios5 showing charged icon while the battery is half charged

i bought my ipod touch 4g a month back from naperville, IL. Since four days while charging, the battery level reaches half and the battery full icon i.e. the plug icon comes up and the ipod stops charging. Kindly help me find the solution of the problem...the ipod is running on the latest iOS5 version. I've tried charging my iPod through wall n pc...
    thankyou

I found it was album artwork being too big for the 4 gen itouch music app...
    use
    Sanse Mp3 Art Sizer
    http://hcware.110mb.com/mp3art/
to resize the album picture files to 500 max and the problem should be solved.
You will need to run it in the Command Line to change the resize values from the default 250 pixel 80% Quality jpeg.
    So...
    Run this...
    sansemp3artsizer /500/90
which equals 500 pixels and 90 percent quality.
Took 24 hours to get through 20,000 files but it worked and now my itouch doesn't crash.
Of course I shouldn't have had to this this as my old 3rd gen worked fine, as did my even older ipod classic worked fine....

  • (iPad 3rd Gen. Wi-Fi) Lack of charging capability while plugged in and in use

    Hey all.
For some reason, it has come to my attention that while my iPad (3rd Gen. Wi-Fi) is plugged in (to a standard outlet from the stock charger out of the box) and in use (no battery saving settings; ie. dimming the brighness), it will charge the battery any significant amount. For instance, when I am using it to watch YouTube videos over Wi-Fi while charging it as well, it was at 10% charge, but after...maybe an hour or so, it was at 11% charge. Curious, no?
Is this a problem that should be of any concern? Or should I simply turn it off while charging it? Thanks for any help.
...Why isn't the New iPad listed in "products?" Meh...
    Cheers!

  • IPhone Storage Fluctuating While Plugged In

    Hi
I have recently updated my iPhone 5s to iOS 8.1.3 and have noticed that when my phone is plugged in (to the wall or to a laptop) my remaining storage starts to fall to zero. You can see it fall by about 50mb at a time if you go in and out of the usage setting. This then causes the phone to pop up saying storage is almost full and affects performance causing some apps to crash when opening.
Once I unplug and reboot the phone the storage goes back up to 1.1GB remaining.
Does anyone know what might be causing this?
    Thanks

    Hello feneey87,
I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue with your iPhone. If you have unaccounted for storage usage when your iPhone is plugged in, you may want to try the following portion of this article (the article is addressing a slightly different issue, but the instructions may still be useful in this case):
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
    Sincerely,
    - Brenden

  • Charging Icon shows full while charging when iPhone isn't fully charged

The battery/charging icon in the top right of my iPhone 3G will change to the "fully charged" icon while the phone is charging. However, the phone is not truly fully charged. Why is the icon showing up if the phone isnt even close to being fully charged??

I've had the same problem with 2 iPhones now, first one I had wouldn't charge and then just went completely dead. I had it replaced and guess what, same bloody thing. My phone hasn't been charging since last night and I'm honestly getting sick of it. I'm having this one replaced, my third iPhone in the past 4 months. This is the last one, if anything happens to is I want my money back and to **** with it.

    Hi All, Wanted to share!
As some of you may know, we had a pretty scary incident recently. Attached are pictures of what remains of our 2007 Suburban. We are all okay but I wanted to warn everyone not to make the same mistake I did. This fire resulted from leaving an iPhone charger/docking station plugged into the car outlet. It overheated and started a fire, while parked in our garage. PLEASE unplug anything you have in your car outlets once you turn off your car!
We were VERY fortunate that we found the fire, at 11pm, before going to bed and before it spread to the house. None of our garage heat detectors or house fire alarms went off (another item to take care of on my “to do” list).  Feel free to pass this along to anyone you want. Better safe than sorry.

  • I can't restore my iphone.  when i plug it in, the phone recognizes that it is plugged into itunes, but itunes doesn't recognize it

My iphone charges when I plug it into my computer, but itunes doesn't recognize that any device is attached (I have the latest version; a pc, not a mac; it's a Verizon iphone).  Also, the phone's info button (which should tell me the serial number) says "MEID: Unknown".  Apple support won't help me without the serial number...
Ideally, I would like a button combination to restore the phone to factory settings, so that I can activate it.  Or at least figure out the serial number so I can get tech support.

Serial # is below the model# on the BOX !!
looks like you bought a Craked Iphone and Not a NEW one from Apple direct or the carrier.

  • How to I disable the "on my iPhone" safari icon on my Mac? I don't want the icon on my Mac when I'm on safari on my iPhone.

Everytime I get on safari on my iPhone an icon pops up on the Mac that has the safari icon with a phone in it. I dont want this "on my iPhone"  icon to appear. How do I disable it. I just want my Apple ID used for the App Store and nothing else on the Mac.

TThank you, I figured it out. I turned off "handoff" on my iPhone. Settings>general> handoff and suggested apps.

  • HT1476 why isn't charging icon shown while iphone is charging?

Why is my iPhone 4 taking so long to charge up and why is the green charging icon not shown when iPhone is locked.  When unlocked, it shows regular battery icon.

I've tried plugging into outlets also known as a wall power socket, and using my computer, and using something called and introverter that plugs into the auxillary port in the car.  Right now its on my computer, taken 10 minutes to go up 1%

  • HT1476 I can't tell if my ipod touch 3rd gen is really charging. I have it plugged in, but it will sometimes show the charging icon and then it won't respond to anything. I ddon't know if you need itunes to be on your computer to charge it.

Ok, so I plug in my touch 3rd gen and I can't tell if it is really charging. It doesn't seem like it is. I can only see the charging icon sometimes, and then after the icon goes away, the ipod won't respond! I'm not sure what to do. Than I thought the USB port was messed up because it doesn't always work, but I plugged it into a diferent port and it said on the ipod, charging isn't supported with this accessory.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
