HT1476 My iPhone 4S quits

My iPHONE 4S quits on me and says the battery needs to be recharged (it is in the "red zone"). As soon as I plug it in, it shows it is at least 60% charged. The software automatically updates and now I have IOS 6.1.3. Any suggestions?

Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.

Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears. If it hasn't appeared after 20 seconds of holding charge it for 15 minutes with the wall charger and try again.

Thanks for the question. I understand that your iPhone 4 is no longer vibrating, let's double check the settings to make sure everything is configured properly.
Settings > Sounds > Vibrate on Ring (Make sure this is ON)
Settings > Sounds > Vibrate on Silent (Make sure this is ON)
Settings > Sounds > Ringtone > Vibration (Make sure this is not set to "None")
If the above settings are configured properly, we'll need to isolate this issue further. I recommend restoring your iPhone as outlined in this article:

My iPhone 4S quit working. What should I do?

The phone was working and charged about 50% when I went to bed last night. When I awoke this morning and hit the button, nothing happened. I thought maybe the charged had gone to zero. I put the charger in and checked the phone about 20 minutes later and the phone was still dark.

New Iphone 4 (4.2.1) continuously stops in the middle of any app and returns to the home screen. I've closed all safari windows and shut down all apps as well as turned the phone off then back on with no luck. Any suggestions?

Same problem here, iPhone 4, with 4.2.1 using the iPod app that comes with the phone, music quits after 4-5 minutes. Other apps quit as well. I have shut down all apps, rebooted the phone, still have the same problem.

When you go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtones and tap on a ringtone, does it emit a sound then? If so, Go to Settings > Do Not Disturb and make sure it is OFF.
Next steps would be to back up your iPhone, then go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
If the issue continues still, restore the iOS. Last step would be to take it in for service.
Locate a Service location (choose your country in the top right)

HT1476 My iphone 4s doesn't charge at all. Via wall adapter, or usb regardless of cable). Always shows plug icon, never the lightning bolt.

My iphone 4s worked perfectly fine for 1 year. Then all of a sudden one day it quit charging. It does show the plug icon (regardless of how charged it is), but the battery percentage number keeps dropping. It drained completely and I took it to get repaired. They changed the battery, which gave me one more day. (long enough to back up my pictures and take a few screenshots showing this plug icon regardless of charge level.
I have tried 3 different cables, and have tried to charge my phone on two different computers. No results. I reset back to factory settings/ installed the newest system update. Still no results.
Please help.

IPhone randomly quits Music Playlists

Hi,
I have trouble listening to music with my iPhone 6 an Playlist played in Random Mode.
At first I encountered the problems conncting the iPhone via Lightning Cable to my Honda Civic Type S Stereo System. Sometimes the music would stop or quit the Playlist an start to play the first Song in alphabetical Order from the Music Colection.
Now I encounter this Problem too when listening via Headphones.
I deleted my Music several Times and tried to reconfigure my Playlists. Nothing worked so far . Am I the only Person having this issue=

Core/standard iPhone apps quitting

I have seen a number of posts regarding AppStore apps quitting after launch, but I am have the same problem with core / standard apps such as Mail and Safari.
I have a number of AppStore apps on my iPhone 2G, but have not launched them (since last restart). Still, after using Mail or Safari for several minutes, they will just quit going back to the home page. Doesn't seem tied to a certain web page or email.
Ideas?

Try resetting (not restarting) your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings. This is good to do every week or so.

IPhone apps QUIT UPON LAUNCH

I have been experiencing this problem every since I purchased my 8gb. iPhone 3G.
When I sync my iPhone after installing apps on the phone, the apps no longer work. I select an icon and the application opens a blank window and then quits to the home screen. Anybody know if Apple is working on this problem?

1. De-authorize and Re-authorize iTunes Store account

2. Now Un-sync the Apps off the iPhone and Re-sync and then attempt to launch Apps
3. Download a free app and then sync from iTunes to iPhone & then launch app on iPhone
4. Reboot iPhone

16G iPhone Receiver Quit - I Can't Hear Callers

The phone receiver on my new 16G iPhone no longer works. I can't hear people I call (or who call me) although they can hear me perfectly well.
The only way I can hear people who call is if I plug in the earphones, or if I use the speaker phone option.
The volume level has been turned up to maximum when calling and the mute button is not activated.
If anyone has any clues what is going on or what I should do, please let me know.
I noticed this problem the day after plugging in my earphones and watching a movie. It's almost like the phone is acting as though the ear phones are still plugged in, which of course, they're not.
Would appreciate any ideas and suggestions.

First off, please don't get me wrong. Even with two trips to the local AT & T store (one because it wouldn't activate and one because the phone jack sensor was bad) and having to pay a $49 restocking fee to replace the defective iPhone, I still very much like the product and am quite happy to have it. My replacement iphone is working perfectly.
I'm a big Mac fan. It's just that when you pay $500 for a phone, it should either work when you walk out of the store, or when you unpack it and discover that it doesn't, you should at least be able to return it immediately for an exchange. People living out of a big city don't have an option of running in to a local apple store, and so while I certainly wouldn't expect a local AT & T to repair an iPhone, if you buy a bad phone that doesn't work, you should be able to exchange it immediately for a functional one. After all, that's what they agreed to sell you when they took your money. The store should bear the burden of returning the product to apple if it failed immediately. Statistically, we know that no matter how good of a general manufacturing process apple might have, there will be defective parts in a small proportion of individual new electronic appliances, even if they are factory tested before being shipped to the reseller. I just happened to purchase a statistical fluke.
But all that said, I'm still happy with the iPhone even if it cost me extra time and money. And I'm also very happy about the responsiveness of this forum.
The users of this forum were extremely fast to respond to my questions and very helpful in resolving the activation problem and identifying the earphone jack sensor problem.
So thank you very much to this forum! You're a good group!

My iPhone 5 quit vibrating when it rings or on silent

I have had my iPhone 5 for four days and now the vibrate feature has quit. Both on ringer and on silent. Any ideas?

On iPhone 5 32GB black, the vibration motor seems to be defective. It stopped working altogether a few days ago, before that it would vibrate just a little (for a call) then quit. Now, no vibration at all.
Tested by going into settings --> sounds --> ringtone --> vibration and trying all the options there. Also tried custom vibration but still no vibration at all.
Reset phone (power and home buttons), also restored to iOS 6.0.1. Still no vibration. Seems to be a hardware issue unless there is a known bug in iOS 6.0.1.
Have a Genius Bar appt for Saturday. I guess we will see.

Update: It seems as though the phone will charge if I plug it in and then turn it off. It will not charge while the phone is on. Also iTunes will not recognize it, so I can't sync or anything. I read somewhere that it could be a fuse somewhere?? Or maybe the dock connector. Where is the best place to get this repaired?
