HT1476 Problems with iphone4S battery charger

My iphone 4 is showing the connect to power to charge symbol while it is plugged in and supposed to be charging and the power outlet is switched on. The battery is very low and it does not appear to want to charge?

Make sure the cable is ok and all connections tight. Else you may need to turn off/turn on the phone or reset it. Do so while it still has a wee bit of life left in it.

I have an iPhone 5 on a post-paid Optus contract and my charger for the phone has never worked. 3 months or so, now.
I didn't need one when I first got it, but now I do, so I just called optus support and ended up in an OS call centre. They said take the phone to the nearest Apple Shop. Said I can't, 500 km's away. So they said I have to go into an Optus shop and purchase a new charger, then I'm to get the Optus people to call their own call centre and the centre will organise a replacement.
Sheesh, there must be an easier way. Anyone had this issue? If so, can you tell me if your replacement/fix was this complex? Thanks

Im guessing you're in Australia?. If you are you can call AppleCare and get a replacement adaptor shipped to you, contact AppleCare to get it set up. Also the accessories that came with the iPhone in the box have the same 1 year limited warranty as the iPhone so a replacement will be free of charge as long as there is no physical or liquid damage.

I have had the same problem but I seem to be getting somewhere to fixing it!!! My battery was going down at 20% an an hour now its 10% with constant use and 5 in standby !!! So improvement all round
First I did a restore then I drained the battery i started to charge it and when it came on I turned the phone off completely and let it charge to 100% I then left it for a couple of hours on charge at 100. I saw no improvement after 1st drain so I repeated the drain battery and charge steps again with the phone turned off when charging and have seen a very big improvement. I am going to do it again tonight and hopefully problem solved!!!!
The next issue is iMessage as that's playing up and wifi drop out

Is there a known problem with the battery life of the iPhone 4S? I only have my phone a few weeks and the battery life is very poor. I've made sure that there aren't lots of things running at the same time (and I'm not using iCloud), but need to charge my phone every night which I never had to do with my old iPhone 3. In addition I have noticed that my iPhone never charges 100%, only 96%, I've tried discharging the battery totally and then recharging the phone just in case it's a calibration issue. Should I bring the phone back to have the battery replaced?

If you are getting around 10 hours of use out of the battery you are probably fine at 98% and it may just be that the battery needs to be calibrated in order to see the full 100% on the indicator. Try the charge cycle and see what happens.

If it's a 2nd gen shuffle, it is probably about six years old at this point. The cause is likely to be a worn out battery that is no longer able to hold its charge for very long.

But it is very small, so you need to be good at doing such things. The cost to have a repair shop do the work is likely to be uneconomical, compared to the cost of a brand new 4th gen shuffle ($50), which has more features (and possibly double the storage) plus a one-year warranty.

Plug it in for 15 minutes. If it doesn't come on hold the HOME button (the round one) and the SLEEP button (the one on the top) at the same time until an Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). If nothing appears on the screen after 30 seconds you have a dead phone; take it back for exchange.

Well I have been goggling over the web...and my only idea is to look in amazon.com and I found three sources( one is through a company in california allmac.com but the condition of the battery in stock for sale is " used, like new" for $99 and the other source is refurbished do you think that buying a refurbished battery is making a great deal or the worst i could be making in my life????
Any other suggestion, about my issue of the battery, I tried plugging & moving the cable it in any waw possible and still it doesn`t charge

I too am so angry with my new carrier , This new year I decided to end my contract with Softbank because they did so many nasty things to foreigners over the years with like roaming charges 5 bad 3G 2 bad 4G iPhones and Apple store Sendai trying to play it ,we have no control over carriers.
So I had to pay a painful contract ending payment and MNP charge so I could use my paid for number on a NTT
iPhone 5 C that was at a 1 JP Yen special plan ,They just put on options you do not need like Wallet and charge for it ,then when I finally went throught the most rigourous security checks I was given a already opened Box because after I noticed the tape around the clear plastic top was missing and either side I saw Japanese customers opening the box by them selves I was not offered why ? when io came back they said they can open it do what ever they want until the money goes into the carriers account because I got it for free!,yet they will milk me for 2 years ! Blood suckers! Japan is a rip off.And they lock it so you can not use WiFi after 2 year contract.
Getting back to the point ,Because I was a new customer and Gaijin they are stopping me from clearing History ,it should be blue but greyed out ,they do so they can track browesing then sell my data on preferences for shopping.
Not only Apple that is keeping track it is also Carriers who are working together to get more money from us and not only that they damage your iPhone out of spitefulness because you canceleed the contract and want to use WiFi only They send so mant Ads trying to sell rubbish and you can not stop it ,and they change the contract in the middle and also try to stop you from cancelling a contract by telling you will be black listed.

This is a major problem with Lollipop, but yo said it started 2 months ago. Several people have fixed problem by removing FaceBook And Face book messenger and then re loading the apps again. You might want to clear your cache before reloading. Not sure this is your problem, but worth a try. Good Luck

so i buy a new one.. and i check that again i have the same problem.. where is the real problem?

Try doing a SMC RESET.
