Try the following to rule out a software problem.:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still that short of life ake an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Why is my battery not holding a charged now that I have ios7 on my iPhone 4

The same is happening to me on my 4 and 4S... Before the software update my battery used to hold up to 1 day for both 4 and 4S. Now I have to charge twice a day the iPhone 4 and three times a day the 4S. Apple should really fix it... I hope they release a new update for iPhone 4 and 4S users...

  • How to preserve battery life ~ used to last all day, now it runs out by lunchtime

How to preserve battery life ~ used to last all day, now it runs out by lunchtime

I would advise updating to iOS 7. It might improve your battery and the bugs are worked out by now.
If not wanting to update because of the new look, here are some tips:
-Turn off bluetooth when not needed.
-Connect to wifi and turn off cellular data when possible.
-When not around wifi, turn wifi off.
-Keep your screen at around 50% brightness.
-Disbale certain apps or features in Settings<Privacy<Location Services if they are not necessary.
-Close out of apps in the multitasking bar.
-Enable airplane mode when you plan on not using your phone for a while.
Hopefully these tips help you. If your battery does eventually get too bad, you can get it changed out by apple. If youve had your device for under a year, you can take it into an Apple store and theyll give you a new phone in return. Have a good night and good luck!

  • Hello apple community, I am Christian i am just wandering if my iPhone's embedded battery would bubble(get fat thingy) if I left it charging over nightly because last night I accidentally left it charging from 10 pm to 3 am thank you ,5s user here

Hello apple community, I am Christian i am just wandering if my iPhone's embedded battery would bubble(get fat thingy) if I left it charging over nightly because last night I accidentally left it charging from 10 pm to 3 am .. Note this happens for 3 nights also but not in a row, thanks in advance iPhone 5s user here .. First time with Apple

    A few battery tips...
You can start using it out of the box, or charge it, whatever you like, doesn't matter either way.
You cannot overcharge the device, thus you can leave it plugged in as long as you like.
You can and should charge as often and as long as possible... deep discharges are hard on lithium batteries.  Normal mobile use will usually result in the one charge cycle/month that Apple recommends although it's OK to fully discharge and then recharge to 100% every once in a while to recalibrate the battery meter.

  • My iPad ran out of battery completely.  After charging all night, it is 100%, but my apps won't start.  I can access email, Safari, etc.....just not game apps.  I have restarted it several times.  Thanks!

My iPad ran out of battery completely.  After charging all night, it is 100% however I cannot get my apps to work.  I can access Safari, email, etc., but cannot get game apps, etc.  I have restarted it a couple of times.  Any help?  Thanks!

Try downloading any free app from thee store and then re-try your apps - the free app can then be deleted.
If that doesn't work then try closing all your open/recently used apps completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Why does the battery need to be recharged so often?

My iPod is brand new and need recharging every other day.
Why and how does this happen?

I have been using it every day. Would the battery need to be replaced?
    No.

  • HT1476 why does the battery usage percentage not available in ios5.1.1???

why does the battery usage percentage not available in ios5.1.1???
and why is clock not available on ipad????

Because that is a decision the Apple made.  You can get the battery percentage (within 5%)  by using a free app such as BatteryLife Lite, but it will not show the percentage on the top of your screen.

  • Since updating to the new ios 7 my battery needs to be charged frequently, why?

Since the update of ios 7, my iphone 4s battery runs down a lot quicker, therefore needing to be charged daily. I thought the battery life before the update was lousy, but since the update it is terrible.  I have turned off many of the apps in the Settings, even lowering the resolution.  I don't use the phone for checking emails or the like, mostly texting, pics and occasionally checking the Net. I even took most of my pics off of it thinking this might help, nope, it did not.  It really goes quickly with texting, which it had not before.  Any solutions out there, or is this ongoing with each update, battery power going down faster.  I have only had this phone since early this year.  Thank you for any help or suggestions.

Thank you for such a quick response.  Most of the things brought out in the article I had already done, but there were some others that I would not have thought of.  Thank you again for directing me to this site.  I will have to see now if this will increase the battery life any.

  • HT1476 Why does my battery not charge?

I started having problems a couple of days ago when I noticed that non apple cables don't charge my phone anymore. But last night I tried to plug my phone to an apple charger and it took or ten times before it started to charge. I had tried about three plugs before one finally worked after many tries.please help because I am not due for an upgrade yet.

Even the apple wires that come with the iPhone are having difficulties to connect all of a sudden. Could this be a software issue, or is my iPhone just done??? If it is it didn't even last two years and I promise it's gonna be the last apple product I buy!!!! I hope apple reads this. Thanx for the reply.

  • My N96 battery needs to be charged on a daily basi...

I purchase by N96 black edition last April and have been meticulously been attentive to the importance of not over-charging the phone battery.  However, after a simple 3months, from having a battery life of three days (whilst using it for calls and TV viewing and surfing) the battery life suddenly dropped to a single day.
What do I do?  I understand that this is still under warranty, do i need to replace the battery?  and is this grounds to have a battery replacement?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

I don't know where you got your information about "overcharging" but that is outdated twaddle.
First of all, it's nickel-based batteries (NiCd or NiMH) that don't like being overcharged. The battery in your phone is a lithium-based battery (lithium-polymer or lithium-ion) so the information doesn't apply to them.
Secondly, it's impossible to overcharge a battery in a phone because once it's charged, the phone's electronics stop charging it anyway.
Thirdly, lithium-based batteries prefer to be charged as much as possible. Not only that, but fully depleting them too often can even damage them.
The drop in battery life is likely to be because the battery has been depleted too often. Although, to be honest, I have no idea how you managed to get 3 days out of a BL-5F. Nobody else has! With your usage pattern, 1 day is actually what I'd expect to get out of it.
