So I have an Ipod touch 4th gener I believe.. So I need to save everything so it can be updated, ok, So it tells me to, Transfer Purchases from Ipod, ok, So I do that and it says it's not Authorized, so I do everything it tells me about authorizing it so I can update it safely,then get their to find out it is Authorized. SOO can someone please help me by telling me or etc on how to save everything from my Ipod So it can be updated without erasing anything. well Thank ya'll

Connect the the iPod to your syncing computer and update via iTunes. Make sure all the synced media like apps and music are in your iTunes library since they are not included in the backup that iTunes makes.

When I had the 9.2 version (the one before 10), just recently before I changed it to 10, my Ipod Icon wouldn't show up on Itunes so I couldnt sync my ipod or do anything, even though it was plugged and was charging. So, then I was like okay, maybe that's my cue to download the newest version of Itunes. Well once I did that, I could sync and see my ipod again on Itunes for a few days, but just now, I plugged in my Ipod and it's doing the same thing again! It's charging, but I can't see my ipod and its options. So I'm not sure if it's my Ipods problem or maybe it's not compatible to the version? I have the 2Gen Ipod touch. Anyone know?

Thank u for ur reply. I'm sorry I didn't explain myself fully this is all very new to me and my daughter it is very annoying when, u are trying to set up something and u haven't a clue what u doing.
When I set her up on the iPod I gave her my apple and iTunes account and email address so now when she wants to buy anything on her iPod she uses my password and email address. When her friends message her they come through on my iPad because we share the same email.
What I want to do is keep my own email and apple account for my iPad but set her up with a new email address and iTunes account for her.
Will the games and music that she has bought with her iTunes card be gone on her iPod if we set her up with new account.

Check your e-mail. If it's on push that means it's reaching out for new mails every so often, turning it to fetch means that it only goes to get mail when you tell it to.
Look at some of your apps. Some of them may be doing things in the background that you don't realize and you can tweak those to not run when you don't need them to run.
