HT1491 Why Does it Take Several Business Days to Post Transactions to my Account?

Please repsond to the following email address:
[email protected]
This is my main email address.
I find my IPhone a little difficult to read/send emails.
I find that iTunes takes several business days to Post transactions.
The transaction shows Pending for 4+ days and on day 5, shows Posted.
I have a debit card tied to my checking account at my bank.
My bank has my funds tied-up for 5 days!
You guys don't get the money and I do not have access to those funds in the mentime.
Do you offer Apple Credit Cards?
Or offer a way I can use PayPal to immediately transfer funds to iTunes?
Thanks.
Scott

The time is takes a carrier to approve unlocking is totally up to that carrier. Apple has no say in the matter. A carrier has zero incentive to unlock any phone, so it's not at all uncommon for them to drag their feet.

  • Why does it take several attempts for my WiFi/Airport to work on my MacBook Pro?

When I open my computer, I usually pull up Firefox right away, and it works. But since I installed several software updates ("Airport Utility" Version 6.0, "Mac OS X Update Combined" Version 10.7.3, "Thunderbolt Firmware Update" Version 1.0, "MacBook Pro EFI Firmware" Version 2.3, and "MacBook Pro SMC Firmwar Update" Version 1.5), my internet takes forever to become active. Here's the thing, it SHOWS complete connectivity on the Airport, but the internet doesn't work. I have to open up Safari, go to Network Diagnostics (where it says "Your internet connection appears to be working correctly"), then re-select my Network on the Airport's drop-down menu, and re-fresh my internet page 7-8 times, and then the internet just works!
It's not my ISP, because this has happened on 3 different networks (home, school, and at a friend's).
Someone help me! What can I do to fix this? Do I need to un-install one of those updates?
    Thanks!

Yikes! That's a bit scary! OK, I will give it a shot tonight.
Is this a common problem, not having the iPod be recognized when connected? If so, if this the standard protocol for correcting it?
Thanks for your patience and help

  • Why does Bookmarks take several seconds to respond after I move a bookmark when Sync enabled, but not when Sync is disabled?

With FFox open and Sync enabled, moving a bookmark, either in the Bookmark sidebar or in 'Show All Bookmarks' window, to another location - for example: dragging a bookmark from "Unsorted" to another location in Bookmarks - causes a delay during which time the Bookmark list seems to freeze and bookmarks can't be moved, selected, etc. The delay lasts for several seconds, and is longer on slower/older machines. If I attempt to move a bookmark (or folder) during the delay, it will move in unexpected ways once Bookmarks unfreezes as locations within the Bookmark list have changed.
With Sync disabled, bookmarks can be moved/selected/etc. without any delay.
Systems Tested: [Note: All systems had the most current version of FFox available for them.]
    MacBook Pro 26 (2014) w/OSX 10.9
    IBM ThinkPad T41x (2010) w/XPpro
    Macbook Pro 266 (2009) w/OSX 10.6
    IBM ThinkPad T61x (2008) w/XPpro
    Mac Mini (2008) w/OSX 10.6
    Mac Mini (2007) w/OSX 10.5
    Macbook Pro 233 (2007) w/Ubuntu v14
    ASUS P1AH (2006) w/Ubuntu 12
My main computer is the Macbook Pro 266, and I noticed this behavior: FFox v36 bookmark delay with Sync enabled is about the same as v35, v35 was worse (longer delay) than v34, v34 was better (less delay) than v33, v33 was better than v32, V32 was much worse than v31, v31 was much worse (Sync unusueable) than v30, v30 was much worse (Sync unusueable) than v29, v29 delay made Sync unusueable.

Currently 664 [exported from FFox Bookmarks to URL Manager for the count] abut never more than 4000: beyond 4000 bookmarks and FFoxs' Bookmarks respond slowly even without Sync active. I currently have 5 computer with FFox set up to use Sync. While I don't expect FFox to manage a huge collection of URLs, I would be nice to be able to access a Bookmark collection of 6000 to 8000 without noticeable delay. It's a simple text file after all, and as I'm only effecting one URL, why so long to update?
fyi: URL Manager tells me that I've amassed about 300,000 bookmarks, some from the late 90's which I still use for research.

  • Why does it take several minutes for Firefox to copy anything?

While trying to copy text, firefox takes some time to actually do the task and let me move on to doing something else. While doing this it stops everything running in firefox as if it was working hard to copy a bit of text. My PC works fine in other things, I can minimize FF and go about doing whatever else I want to do while FF is working on it.

  • Why does it take 10 days to replace the iPhone or iPad in the Czech Republic? I am considering a change to Samsung!

Why does it take 10 days to replace the iPhone or iPad in the Czech Republic? I am considering a change to Samsung!

It will probably take a week and three days to replace your Samsung in the Czech Republic. In the U.S., if I sent my iPhone or iPad in for warranty work, it would take 7-10 days as well. Yes, I do have the option of taking it to an Apple Store, which you may not be able to do. Samsung doesn't have stores at all in the U.S. I would be dependet on my carrier for warranty replacements.

why does it take 90 days to enable your account?

why does it take 90 days to enable your account?
There is a restriction on iDevices that once it is associated with an account, it cannot be associated to a different account for 90 days.  Is that what you are asking about?  Here is the information from the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions:
"Association of Associated Devices is subject to the following terms:
( i) You may auto-download iTunes Auto-Delivery Content or download previously-purchased iTunes Eligible Content from an Account on up to 10 Associated Devices, provided no more than 5 are iTunes-authorized computers.
(ii) An Associated Device can be associated with only one Account at any given time.
(iii) You may switch an Associated Device to a different Account only once every 90 days."
Apple has not stated a reason for implementing this restriction, but one might surmise it is to keep people from abusing the iCloud re-download capability.

  • Why does it take 5 to 7 days to upgrade my account

Why does it take Telstra 5 to 7 days to upgrade a new mobile number to My Account  It's been 2 Weeks since Activation and contacting Telstra to be told 5 to 7 days to fix and still waiting to be upgrades When I go into my Account and try to add Mobile myself does say already linked Iknow I can use other ways to check funds and recharge but like to use the online and have all My Account Linked as it is easier to check and use Thanks for any answers????

Hi Shooter, certainly shouldn't be like that. Obviously here on a public forum your peronal account bdetails aren't available so I'd suggest to get to the bottom of this problem, try the accounts live chat. They can take a look and dig into your account and get this sorted for you: https://livechat.telstra.com/TCOM:ContactUs:Manage

  • Why does it take so long to delivery?!

Ordered my Macbook pro today. Dispatch date for the whole order is 1-3 business days. Delivery estimate is 19th - 23rd January (today is the 31st December!!) so why does it take so long for the courier to deliver?? That's over 3 weeks away and a long time between dispatch and delivery!

I'm lucky enough there is one in Southampton where I live and there are two in Bristol where I study so I could easily go and pick one up! Infact I think there is a store within an hours drive of anyone in the UK now, plus there are official Apple stalls (with Apple staff and Genius bar) in most electronic superstores. So not too hard to find!
However, the issue is that I'll be paying for my Pro through finance (Barclays in the UK) so I don't really want to have to cancel that as they do a credit check on you and I'm afraid applying for finance again would affect my rating so I'm not too keen on doing that.
And before any of you suggest it, my finance has already been approved and Barclays will credit Apple within one business day (Tuesday, after the New Year public holiday on Monday) so this is not a reason for the delivery to be slowed up.
Out of interest I went onto the store again and added all my items to the basket. I ordered a MacBook Pro (standard 2.4 GHz 500GB model), Microsoft Office for Mac and Apple Care under university pricing and the delivery estimate was for the 4th January. So I'm wondering what could have possibly delayed my order!!

  • Why does it take so long to download on my iPad 2?

Why does it take so long to download on my iPad? My wifi is strong and working perfectly with other computers.  Also, it's slow on my original iPad.

    natmac wrote:
I did what was suggested above (closing all apps and then resetting the iPad). Then I tried to download the movie the Smurfs (for my kid ofcourse!). It's 3.4 GB. In the first hour I have downloaded 1 GB. So it looks like it's going to take at least 3.5 hours to download a movie.  Does this seem correct? My speed is 10 mbps.
Sems a little high but not unreasonable.  Figure that a true 10Mbps would take almost exactly an hour for 3.4GB.  Your 10Mbps rate is the rate to the ISP, which is the absolute best that you can hope for.  Maneuvering data through the many switches in the Internet probably cuts that in half, which would mean two hours.  However, that means absolutely nothing because the weak link in the chain is the rate that the server can send the data.  Consider that we just had a major holiday with many children expecting many movies.  It wouldn't surprise me if the server can send only 2 or 3Mbps per subscriber.
By the way, I do not agree that closing apps and resetting the iPad makes the slightest bit of difference.
My theoretical rate is a tad shy of 5Mbps.  As best I can recall, movies take several hours to download.  My routine is to start the download as I'm going to sleep.  The movie is then available the next day.  No fuss, no bother.

  • What's wrong with this Forum? Why does Adobe take so long to reply to posts?!

What's wrong with this Forum? Why does Adobe take so long to reply to posts?!
This is actually "specific" to this Photoshop Forum.
I typically get responses back from other Adobe forum promptly.
    Chime in.

The Adobe engineering folks DO duck in here from time to time - and that's a BLESSING!  Please name any other big company where you get to interact with the engineers AT ALL.  I can't.  But I suspect the engineers actually have a lot oof real work to do, and their time here is necessarily limited.
Your comments are more along the line of "I pay a huge amount, for that I expect better support".  These are very valid comments.  But reality is different from what we may expect, and this forum is not the place to expect Adobe support participation AT ALL.  In fact, the technical support people at Adobe often direct users to come here (something I've always found amusing).
At the higher level, Adobe may simply not be spending enough on support for literally millions of users.  Is is greed or smart business to try to minimize support cost?  That's up for individuals to decide.
I suggest you write a snail-mail letter to the Adobe president if you're not getting the support you need.

  • Why does it take for a month to get internet services?

I'd like to know why does it take for a month to get internet services? I ordered my service on Jan 18,2012 and I got the installation kit on Jan 21,2012. But I can't  use the internet and I have to wait until Feb 9,2012 for my service ready date. I think it takes a long time. I need the internet to do my project, but I can't. I'm very disappointed right now. I think I can use the internet after I place my order. (2 or 3 days it's ok, but I have to wait for a month that's terrible) Why can't they just turn on the services? I'd like to know who can i talk with?

Have you tried hooking the modem up, and does it get sync and does the Internet light come on? Even though you technicaly shouldn't do this, the line might already be up and running but they haven't told you yet. I don't know why it takes a month to hook up DSL. In my area, it takes two weeks typically from order to live, whether it's new service or a speed upgrade/downgrade (these are usually one week. They can be done on the spot, though!). No one has ever explained why it takes that long, but I presume it has someting to do with the billing cycle and perhaps line conditioning if they still do that (away from removing bridged taps and load coils), giving a technician time to pick up the service request and perform the task before someone goes, builds the profile for the line and then connects a few cables to an empty slot in a DSLAM and does some other background tasks to bring the connection online.

  • Why does it take 3 hours to download a movie

Why does it take 3 hours to download a movie on apple tv?  Is there a solution??

What kind of internet connection speed do you have?
If you have 3Mbps DSL like I do, and are renting movies on either Apple TV model in HD Format, then it will take quite a while. Actually 3 Hours for an HD Movie would be failry fast here at my home. They are just large files. If I'm going to rent an HD movie, I will usually rent it earlier in the day and watch it when I'm ready.
If you have an adequate internet connection, and just want to rent movies on the fly and don't care about HD, on the AppleTV v2 you can go to Settings / General / iTunes Store / Video Resolution... and select Standard Definition. With our 3Mbps DSL connection, when we rent a movie it is generally "Ready to Play..." within about 2 minutes at the most (enough time to grab a beer and get comfortable)
As far as I know, Standard Definition movies still show on the same menu as the HD version with the ATV v1. I preferred that menu format myself because you didn't have to change the option in settings when you wanted to go back and forth.

  • Why does it take. So much longer for YouTube videos to load on my iPad 1st gen. then on my iPod touch?

Why does it take so much longer for YouTube videos to load on my 1st gen. iPad then on my iPod touch or my laptop?

This is not the place to make a point. This is a user to user support forum. I do not need instructions about the use and care or alleged failure of cables. At no time did I ever say or imply that you were an idiot, that is your statement and words, not mine. Take the time to Google and you will find instances where there have been injuries and death dealing with 3rd party cables and chargers. The abilities that Apple has for manufacturing and what business decisions they make in creating their products is nothing more than speculation, and that is not allowed under the terms of the forum that you agreed on when you joined here. If you want to rant at Apple, then use the feedback link, www.apple.com/feedback. Other users cannot do anything for you.

  • Why does it take so long to convert my PDF to word.docx? It has been going for more than 30 minutes.

Why does it take so long to convert my PDF to word.docx? It has been going for more than 30 minutes.

There could be several reasons. It may be that Acrobat spent that time trying and ran into too many bottlenecks. As a test you might print the PDF to a new PDF and try the conversion on the new PDF. It might be there is a problem with the original PDF that the print process would fix..

  • Why does it take so long to download a podcast on Mac as opposed to iPhone?

Performed a speed test of ISP and results were roughly 40/40. Why does it take 3 hours to download a 22MB podcast on iTunes via Mac?

I have the exact same problem. I purchased apple tv several years ago, and every time I go to rent or buy a movie it takes anywhere from 3 to 7 hours to download the movie. There is no spur of the moment "hey lets rent a movie tonight" because I know it will take overnight to complete the download. I've checked my internet speed and it spot on. I've noticed other threads with people having the same problem but no one seems to have a solution.
