HT1495 I followed Method 3 to create a separate iTunes library for each device, and now I can't find my original iTunes

I pressed held down shift when I opened iTunes to follow the method to create separate iTunes libraries, and now I cannot find my original iTunes. I am so frustrated.

Does the original library file still exist on the computer? Hopefully when creating the new library it was done in a seperate folder as I do not believe iTunes allows for two library files in the same location.

I created an extra iTunes library for my wife by following the instructions on Apples website and everything was working perfect. So when I opened iTunes i could select whether i was using her phone or mine.
Everything was perfect then today I have turned my Macbook on as I wanted to transfer a CD onto my phone. I plugged my phone in and selected iTunes then selected "choose iTunes library" I can not find either iTunes folders anywhere. I have been searching my Macbook for the last two hours and can't find anything anywhere.

Try this...
Quit the Mac App Store if it's open. From the menu bar App Store/ Quit App Store. Or Command + Q on your keyboard.
Launch iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Click: *Reset warnings and Reset cache*. Now go back to the menu bar and click Store / Sign Out.
Try the MAS. If you still have problems, follow the paths here. ~ (Tilde) represents your Home folder.
~/Library/Caches.com.apple.appsstore./Cache.db. Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist files to the Trash.
~/Library/Cookies. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist and the Cookies.plist files to the Trash.
Restart your Mac. Relaunch the MAS. Try again.

If you're publishing directly from iWeb 3 to your FTP server then you'll have the following in your accounts root directory:
Site 1 folder
Site 2 folder
Site 3 folder
index.html file from last published site directling to the last published site.
If you want to keep Site 1 as the primary site you'll need to publish it one more time to the server so you get it's index.html file uploaded.
Now you'll have to publish Sites 2 and 3 to a folder on the hard drive and use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck, YummyLite or Transmit to upload only the site folder (and not its external index.html file with it).
The url to sites 2 and 3 will be:
http://doman_name.com/Site 2
http://doman_name.com/Site 3

I just got an Ipod Classic recently and downloaded Itunes. Got my music on my Ipod. My husband just got an Ipod Touch. I followed the directions on how to create a 2nd library and was able to load his music onto his Ipod. My problem is now I can not find my original library. I did what the directions said about holding down the shift key while opening Itunes and it still goes to the 2nd library that I created. How do i get my original library to come up? I stated that I did try to do all of this when I first set up the new computer...I did do the Setup Assistant numerous times but my old computer kept freezing half way through. Even if I did it when I first got the new computer back in Septemeber, I would have had the same issue b/c my old computer has been 'broken' for a while. My old computer can't handle doing too much at once and I think the setup and then migration functions I tried were too much. That's why I was hoping I could use the migration function piecemeal. I wish I could just check off the exact files and folders I want vs. having to choose it at the 'user' level...that's too much for my old computer to have to transfer.

Your suggestion is what I want. However, when i try an example, it doesn't come out with the result that i want. Maybe I did something wrong. Basically, I have a 2D array with some default value in it. So if the number of loops is 2, it suppose to have 2 separate array with the same set of elements. However, I only had one array with growing set of elements. To illustrate, it suppose to be

How do I set birthday reminders without having to create a separate contact card for each person in a family?

I'm trying to set birthday reminders in iCal based on the birthday field in Contacts. But in order to create separate birthday entries for individuals in the same family, you have to set up a separate card for each person. Anyway around that?

Thank you to johnbeardy, Anthony.Ralph and Rob for your replies. The OP (I guess that's me, Maps Man) has been happy with CS since CS2. I have upgraded etc and used it successfully. Unfortunately, I have recently up graded my camera as well but CS5 would not read the new RAW files. My natural inclination was to look at a CS upgrade but Adobe effectively priced me out. It obviously is not interested in amateur hobbyists anymore perhaps because they don't produce enough cash for Adobe. Even the new "Cheap" offer they are offering is still very pricey as well as being ongoing for life. I looked at a variety of alternatives including Elements, Lightroom and DxO Pro 8. In the meantime I used a combination of Nikon's ViewNX2 to judge my uploads off camera then Adobe DNG Converter to change them to DNG and back to CS5 for the fun bit. Rightly or wrongly, I decided that Lightroom was the least objectionable both for cost and user friendliness. And I do like the results I get using it. I can now go back to coming straight out of camera, do a substantial amount of edit work and go directly to CS5 for final touches such as size and frame (perhaps Lightroom does that also but I have not yet found how! Time will tell.) It is just that I find the first part so annoying. I do not mind organisations giving us suggestions (e.g. Catalogues) I just find it a nuisance that I cannot say "Thanks, but no thanks it is too complicated for what I want." As for using it "properly" it is debatable whether Adobe's engineers have done it "properly" if they don't give that choice. After all, CS5 etc does not need catalogues to work well so why should Lightroom's catalogues be "proper?"
Obviously I will be sticking with Lightroom and I will try to find my way round the problem. I had hoped that there may have been some way to customize it for my needs but there does not seem to be.

I was searching itunes using my husband's account but didn't have his password - so instead of buying - I added all the songs using the wish list so I can buy them at a later date when he arrived home - I wanted to check the list and I discovered I can't find anywhere that says "wishlist".....

If it was your husband's account that was logged in when you added the songs then it will be linked to his account - if his account is still logged in then on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on the computer's iTunes there should be a Quicklinks section with a wish list link underneath it which should have them on it :
(There used to be a 'buy all' button on the wish list screen, but you now have to buy each item individually by clicking on their price.)

Don't create new catalogues until you're much more confident of LR, and even then think twice about it.

Unless you use the steps on this page when creating a new account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
then you will need to enter credit card details before the account can be used to download any item from the store.
If you don't have a credit card then you will need to create a new account, and follow those instructions. If you want to use the same email address then you will need to remove it from that account first e.g.by logging into it via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or via http://appleid.apple.com - you should then be able to use it on a new account.

I'm exhausted of trying to find a solution to a problem created by Apple. I have moved to icloud following all your instructions and now I can not use my mobile me e-mail address. I can not activate icloud because when I put my e-mail address it answers that somebody is already using my address. I have my old e-mails, but I can not receive any e-mail or send them.
I have contacted Apple Technical Support in Spain and I was sent an e-mail saying that I have to call a phone number and when I call it is always an answering machine who answers that says that I have to pay 50€ for a consultation or wait for 10 minutes. When I have made the consultation it was never mentioned that I have to pay 50€ for a phone consultation. If I don't want to wait I have to pay for the Apple Tecnical Support which cost 250 €, this was not mentioned in the technical support page.
Can somebody let me know how can I contact Apple in another way in order to talk with a human being or chat directly? I was very happy just using my mobileme e-mails, I didn't need any clouds and I was force by Apple to registered if I want to continue using my mobileme e-mail address.
