You can only purchase from the country in which you live. You cannot purchase from the Japan Store if you live in the U.S. and your iTunes account is a U.S. based account.

If her version did not come preinstalled with Lion or later, but with an installer disk, it has probably never been associated with the AppleID and will not show as purchased.
In that case your friend needs to contact the AppStore support to help with the download.
But perhaps the purchase has been hidden. To unhide it, go to Store > View My Account, and go to Manage for Hidden Purchases.

I have FireFox 7.0.1 (italian), I need to save my bookmarks not to have to retype them while migrating to the new OS. In yor help pages it is stated that I can save bookmarks going under BookMarks menu, selecting Organiza bookmarks… and saving them as HTML.
The prblem is: there is no such a menu voice, so I cannot save my bookmarks (or I do not know how to do it).

You may note there are some changes coming up with Firefox's searches. In Fx23 whatever you set in the search bar is also used for other searches, so you may get unexpected videos showing up from the address bar.

Tap "View Apple ID"
Enter password if needed
Tap "Country/Region"
Tap "Change Country or Region"

Change your iTunes Store country
Sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you'd like to use. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
Follow the onscreen process to change your region, agree to the terms and conditions for the region if necessary, and then change your billing information.

If you go into the iLife support forum for iPhoto, there are a couple good threads. Basically, iPhoto can't be downloaded by anyone anywhere in the world unless the app store has it listed in your "purchases" list. The threads contain a lot of steps and it looks like this could be difficult for novices like me.

Thank you for your responses.. To Sjazbec, At least you guys in Germany and the Netherlands have some kind of posters from Apple to let you know that the feature is not available.
There is no such warning on the Irish Apple site.!
My point was that, I would not have even considered trying to reorganize my itunes library had I known that the feature is not available in Ireland.
And that falls into the domain of Apple Ireland advertising.. which I"m sorry to say is false and misleading.
There are no "posters" telling the Irish customer that icloud / itunes music is not available!
I"m not blaming Apple for not "having the feature" in Ireland.. I am upset at them for falsing advertising a feature that they cannot for whatever reason deliver to Irish customers..
