HT1495 Is there a way to have 10 ipads (education dept) working on one itunes account?

We have just bought an imac, 5 macbook pros and 10 ipad airs to run sports analysis software and were looking for advice on how to operate them in an effective way. We also have a sync/charge device on order. The macbooks and ipads will be taken out by students to analyse sports matches using specialist software. I know how that works on single devices working with my personal account, but how do we approach this as a department? Any help will be appreciated.

Educators like talking and writing about things they have done.I'd recommend looking at  an article like the following:
http://sedcclint.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Managing-and-Supporting-iPads-in -the-Classroom-with-iOS-7-PDF.pdf
There is also an iOS in education deployment guide, done by Apple, though as far as I know, the latest version is for iOS 6.
http://images.apple.com/education/docs/ios_6_education_deployment_guide.pdf
You can also do a Google Search on "iOS in Education". There is a lot of stuff that has been written about educational deployments.
The short answer to your question is yes, in  educational settings, last I read,  Apple will allow the use of a single iTunes account on multiple shared devices..
Sports analysis software?  Will that help me with sports betting?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I find it hard to believe that this information isn't clearly available somewhere, but it isn't and I don't think I've seen anyone here who is 100% sure. However, I believe you can have up to 10 associated devices, which include authorised computers (of which you can have up to 5), I suspect the Apple TV might become a temporary associated device while it's in use, but I'm not entirely sure myself.

  • Is There a way to move an email list intact from one BC account to another

Is There a way to move an email list intact from one BC account to another without any data loss or need for further formatting?

I'm afraid you can't do this. You can't delete an iCloud account, and even if you delete an alias you still can't move it to another account or turn into an ID.

What is the best system?  We have 30 iPads.

    That would be fine.

  • How do I manage 2 Ipads and 2 iphones on one ITunes account.

How do I manage 2 Ipads and 2 iphones on one ITunes account.  Each device has a different name. But every time I plug them into iTunes on my Pc all the apps get screwed up. apps disappear etc.  I have "sync apps" selected without automatic updates. I'm thinking I should have this unselected, but that does make sense to me. Shouldn't I be able to have one iTunes account and manage each device independently.  What settings to do I need to apply to itunes so that every time i plug the devices in they don't get all messed up? thanks in advance
Also, Iphone 4s is possible to rotate pictures without extra hassle of downloading software??

You can try contacting iTunes Support and ask them if they can remove the balance from your account so that you can change countries : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT204053 Can you have multiple apple ids that access one itune account??

I need to know if I can have multiple Apple Ids attached to one itunes account.  Trying to set facetime up on these separate devices and it keeps failing.  Any help would be appreciated.  I tried to add additional emails, but I all I get is verifying and it never verifies it.

yes you can still sync all the devices on itunes using one master itunes/appleID account.
    Music:
If you want to select specific playlists for your kids, DON'T enable iTunes Match on their devices, otherwise they will get ALL the playlists on their devices (learned that the hard way)
If you have wi-fi synced enabled that should still work.
    Apps:
I manually select which apps they get on their devices using itunes. It only changes when they re-sync.
Don't enable AUTO downloads on their devices for Apps or Music purchases.
Since I also have young kids using these devices:
I have restrictions setup on their devices. I don't allow them to install/delete apps, nor do I allow them to make any account changes on their devices. This way their devices stay in order and get backed up to icloud. I can easily restore their devices if I needed too.
Once in a while I will disable the restrictions so I can update all their apps.
    Hope this helps!

  • Second iPad, both in operation with ONE iTunes Account.

I bought a second iPad for my husband.  I want both iPads to share one iTunes account.  When I sync for the first time should I sync with a back up of my current iPad or set up as a new iPad??

Your choice - restoring to the backup will copy the content of the original iPad onto the new one, setting it up as new will not copy any of your current copy onto it (you can then copy/sync it yourself). So it depends on what content you want on the new iPad.

  • Is there a way to have two apple ID's on one computer/iTunes.

My wife and I both have iphones and we have a Mac.  Is there a way to seperate what goes where as far as contacts, podcasts, etc?  Everytime she syncs her phone on itunes, all my podcasts get changed/erased and I have to re download them.  Also, my daughter, who has an ipod touch can change my contacts, i.e. delete them.  Is there any way to seperate certain info to certain devices?

Are you sharing one AppleID or do you have separate IDs?
If you have separate AppleIDs, then it's easiest to create a user account for each of you on the computer, and log into iTunes with your respective IDs on each account.  This will keep everything separate.  There is no problem authorizing content for multiple AppleIDs on the same computer.
HOWEVER, you can only re-download, auto-download, or use Match for one AppleID *per computer* (not per account), and this can only change every 90 days.
If you share an AppleID, then in principle, you can sync both devices to the same user account, but it's difficult to separate contact lists, so it's still easiest to have two user accounts, even if you use the same AppleID on each. This will allow you have separate contact and calendar lists; however, you will NOT have the option of syncing them to the cloud (make sure to turn this option OFF), as having a single AppleID would cause them to merge.

  • Is there a way to have an activly updating folder update to itunes?

I am trying to make this has simle as possible for my father.
I have set up TiVo Desktop to auto DL his fav shows and put them (in MP4 format) in a folder. He can click and drop them into itunes each time but I was pretty sure there was a way to have Itunes do that on it's own.
    Any help would be great

iTunes has no folder watching feature built in. So the answer, as far as iTunes itself is concerned, it no, it's not possible. But take a look here for a possible third-party solution:

  • My wife and I each have iPads ipods and iPhones on one Apple account . Should we create a new account? What happens to our iTunes ,apps and iCloud? Can we share them? Will we lose any info?

MY wife and I share and Apple ID . We both have iPads, iPods, and iphones
all our purchases in iTunes , apps and iCloud are on this . If we create a new ID for one of us do we lose any of the data and purchased material or do we still share?

I would suggest that one of you retain the existing AppleID and use it for the iTunes Store, iCloud, and Messages on their iOS device and/or Mac accounts.
Then, the other one of you can create a new AppleID.
You then have two choices for how to share your existing store purchases:
    1) You can try the new "Family Sharing" feature: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/
    2) Or you can simply continue to use the original AppleID as your "iTunes Store" login on all of your devices (yours and your wife's), yet use a different AppleID to login to iCloud and Messages.
Family Sharing is supposed to be the solution to the problem and does indeed have some interesting shared features.  However, just using the same iTunes Store login has worked reliable for years.
The important this to realize is that in iOS and Mac OS, the logins for the Apple Store, Messages, and iCloud are all completely separate and can be independently configured.  So, you can each use your own AppleID for login to each of those services.  Just make sure to both login to the iTunes Store service using the same original AppleID.

  • We have iphones, ipads and ipods attached to one itunes account. Is it possible to prevent the ipods and ipads from receiving texts sent to the iphone? Can we link them to "phantam" email?

We have one itunes store account for all of our apple devices. I am now separated and my kids take their ipods and ipads to my exs. How can I stop my ex from reading my texts? I turned off the home sharing, but they, kids or ex, just turn it on.
Do I have to have separate itune accounts for the other devices or can I create a separate email account and link those devices to that?

    Hi, RenegadeK.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This issue would be caused by all your devices sharing an Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime.  I would recommend signing out of iMessage on your/her/his device if possible.  Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.  Once this is done, I would recommend that either you/her/him create a new Apple ID specifically for iMessage and FaceTime here.  Then you/her/him would need to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime with the new Apple ID.  You can still keep the same Apple ID for purchases.  You can also change the password which will essentially disable iMessage for his/her account.  You could also just turn iMessage off.
