it concerns banking information...when I try to get into my bank account a window opens that tells me to enable cookies and Javascript when they are already enabled. This happens in both Firefox and Flock. I have tried unchecking them and then checking them but it doesn't work.

i have a field (County) on a form in a jsp page that needs to get all its values from the database and present it to the user also i have another field (year) this also needs to get all its values as a drop down from the database.
i dont have any lib tag available to use and can't afford the time to set this up. so just have to script in jsp or use beans in jsp.
my question is 2fold
Q1. - i was thinking of having a DataAccess (dA) object to run a sql to select * distict couties ...
also have another query in DataAccess select * Distinct year....
and in the jsp instantiate the (dA) and iterate through and fill the select drop down box - how to code this syntax i'm not sure and if this is the correct approach or the only approach would appreciate some sample code that i can mess around with thanks.
- is above approach best way of doing this. - also taking into account Q2.
Q2 - when the user selects county then i need to fire a onChange event - probably using javascript but not sure how this works - bascially i need to then update the year drop down according to the below sql-
again how is this possible - and is this the best approach or will it be too many calls to the database - especially consdering that the forms are all part of a search tool.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but its not going to be quite that simple.
Populating a second dropdown depending on the first one, has been discussed quite in depth on this forum, I suggest you do a search to look at older posts.
Javascript code cannot call java/database code from an onclick event.
The best it can do is trigger a form submission, which reloads the page
running any java/sql code that displaying the page entails.
So onlick event on the first dropdown triggers a form submit, which loads the page with the correct values in the second dropdown.
con: requires a page request
The other approach is to download ALL possible values to the jsp page, and have javascript handle the swapping of values.
pro: no page refresh needed
con: must have all data available on the page. javascript is a bit more complicated.

If you're going to use iMacs, you don't really need Xsan, because it uses fibre channel for storage and you can't put a fibre channel card in an iMac.
Probably you want an Xserve + Xserve RAID set up as a file server.

I just updated to the new operating system which i'm starting to think was a bad idea, because it reset all my settings and I don't know how to fix them.

so when I go to safari>preferences>security>uncheck box labled enable java script links on webpages don't work and pictures and links son't want to appear on websites. this made it so webpages don't want to work past loading the content in text format. I have to check enable java script to go the webpages to work right so images and links work again but when I try to apply for this job the error message pops up saying I need to enable cookies and java script.

Thank you for your time. I'm trying to avoid that because she can then simply turn on mail syncronization and then she could read my mail. Another reason is our password policy, that enforces changing our windows logon password every 90 days. Of course changing windows logon passwords demands changing exchange account logon info (password) on Iphone. I have read somwhere that there was an app but it was removed from app store. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

You first need to purchase and install OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to increase the RAM in your iMac.
Your year and model iMac can take 4 GBs of RAM. Out of that amount of RAM, the 2006 iMac will recognize between 3.1 and 3.4 GBs of that total RAM.
Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
Once OS X 10.6 is installled , you will need to use OS X Software Update function in OS X's System Prefernces Panel to update to OS X to OS X 10.6.8. This will give your iMac access to the Mac App Store.
If you wish, your iMac year and model can only be updated to OS X 10.7 Lion. Your hardware limits you to OS X 10.7 Lion. Your iMac can't run or install OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion OR OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

My strong advice is that you keep your iMac model on OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. OS X 10.7 Lion needs a full 4 GBs of RAM, for the OS alone. Your Mac barely meets this requirement and will leave no additonal RAM to efficiently run any additional application without severly slowing down your iMac.
Before embarking on a OS X system upgrade, it would be very prudent to back up all of your important, personal data, beforehand.
You can choose just to backup the most important data by either burning data to CDs/DVDs, or copying data to large capacity USB flash drives.
The two better methods is to purchase a good quality external hard drive and backup the data and OS using OS X's Time Machine app to back your data up to an externally connected hard drive.
The other method is to backup your entire system and data using data cloning apps such as Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper to clone an exact copy of your iMac's internal hard drive to the externally connected hard drive. Cloning data to an external drive will give that drive the ability to boot from in an emergency. Your Mac will be able to be booted and run off of an external drive.
The type of connection of an external hard drive is yours to choose. The two types of data transfer connections your Mac can use are USB 2.0 or FireWire 400/800.
If you want a hard drive that has a faster, continuous throughput of data and the possibilty of running your iMac from an external hard drive (in the event your Mac's internal hard drive fails or data becomes corrupt and your Mac system won't boot to the Mac's internal drive) opt for a FireWire drive. If none of this is important to you, then get a hard drive that uses a USB 2.0 connection, instead.

I have done various tests to see if my browers does accept cookies and javascript is enabled, and all is good here.
I also have the plugin Java plugin 2 for npapi 13.6.0. (I am running firefox on mac).
I used to be able to log into the site. not anymore. Since then i must have updated firefox a few times.
I have cleared cache/cookies. I have disabled all plugins/extensions. Still can't get in.
What else can i do?
I have spoken with microsoft adcenter, and all they could tell me was make sure i have the latest java, which i have i guess.

I was told once they put in a new sim card and use it, whatever software the police have, it will show up.

Honestly? In the US (I can't speak to other countries, though I doubt it works much differently in a lot of the world) The police took your report and filed it either in their computers or, on paper. They will now not think of this again. The only time it will cross anyones mind is if, in the course of entering information into evidence about items recovered or seized at a crime scene, the serial number of an iPhone that was found/seized happens to match yours, in which case you will be contacted.
The police in the US can and will do nothing to 'blok' the phone and it's not worth their time to try and locate it unless you know for a fact that it was stolen by a big time drug lord, master criminal, or some other such prime target and they can get a court order to track the location of the phone in order to locate this individual for your own purposes. If they do that, they'll probably keep him under surveilance for a year or so before they act.
Basically, the police don't care about your phone. If they find it, they will give it back to you. They are not, however, going to go looking for it. They have better things to do.
I'm sorry, but that's the way it is.
