Why do you need to sync your iPhone with iTunes - for what purpose?
You can transfer iTunes content and photos from one computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first with a warning message provided beforehand indicating this will occur.

If I purchase the creative cloud for photographers can I install it on laptop and desktop?

How would I setup the catalogues so I can edit the same picture(s) from the two machines?  For example, I have a PC in my office upstairs, but sometimes I want to work on my Mac in basement?  would I store the photos and catalogues on an external drive and point to that from both machines?  Neither machine is portable.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
I'm not entirely sure if this is what you are asking, however you cannot use another account without losing the ability to update the apps that you have bought under another account.

  • Use on laptop and desktop, without purchasing two CC subscriptions

I need to use CC on my laptop when traveling, without losing the use of CC on my desktop, when I return from my trip. Is there a way to do this? I'm only one person, therefore I prefer not to buy two subscriptions.

    Mylenium,
Thanks for your quick response and useful information.  I just spoke with Customer service on how to deactivate my PC and then use my two Mac's.  You helped me greatly!

  • Sync Folders on Laptop and Desktop

I have 2 identical folders, one on my laptop and one on my MacPro. I want to keep them identical (sync) them. I do not have a .Mac account and will not in the near future. It appears iSync can not do that for me. Anyone have any ideas or programs to keep these folders in sync, other than of course manually.

For those looking for folder sync. Foldershare works great if you are synchronizing ONLY Macs... it is a super easy to setup and it is free. It supposedly allow you to sync with PCs but there is a bug in the current Mac client that affects the sync with PC and on a random base it enters an infinite loop. The workaround is to turn off encryption and compression as Leopard and Windows use different algorithms... or wait a bit as the new Mac client should be available soon. It is a great way to sync folders and even enable remote access to documents...

  • Syncing Lightroom between laptop and desktop

I  did large, two day studio shoot last week.
I do the majority of  my work on my desktop, and for the first time I used a laptop for this  shoot.
I used an exteranl hard drive that I plugged into the laptop, and I kept my catalog and all my images on that external hard drive. I shot tethered directing into Lightroom. I did a little  work at the shoot, changing things in the develop module, cropping, and  adding metadata.
Now, I'm at home, I've got my external hard  drive still plugged into my laptop, and on my  laptop I selected all my images and chose 'Save Metadata to file'  (command S) so all my changes would transfer.
A window popped up that said 'One or more of these  photos has been changed in an external application. Should Lightroom  overwrite the Settings on disk??' I then have the option of hitting  'cancel' or 'Overwrite Settings'.
I'm confused by this as I have  only amended these images in Lightroom. If I say 'Overwrite Settings',  will I loose information? For example, every image has been cropped, but  I would like to be able to retain access to the full image, and I'm  nervous if I hit overwrite settings I'll lose this.
    Am I being crazy?
    Ellen

    Ellen,
This is a long-standing bug that seems to get better but never completely go away.  There is probably one or two images that LR "thinks" have been changed from somewhere outside of LR and when you select all images it is just telling you that at least one is in this state.  Unfortunately there is no way I know of to sort or automatically isolate images with potential metadata conflicts except to browse the grid display looking for conflicting icons.
I usually select less than all (say 40 or 50 at a time) and keep saving until I isolate the image or images that is in question such that I save data to all the other images that are not in conflict first, then attack the error images one at at time.  In all cases though, I end up overwriting the data since I trust the database of LR to have stored the most correct data.  I just want to know what images were at risk so I can review them immediately after overwriting the data to make sure indeed they are alright.  I generally use a temporary quick collection to isolate them.
The good news is I have never had a result that required me to go back in and re-develop an image.  The bad news is I still am not comfortable hitting "overwrite" after selecting all images and just letting it rip.  Hmmm ...

  • How can I sync my ipod on another computer without losing my music

I got music on my parents computer, and I tried downloading it to my ipod, but it won't sync without deleting all of my songs

You can manage music and videos among different computer as follows:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
But you can only sync with one iTunes library.

  • Transferring Word docs between Laptop and iPad without losing footnotes

Is there any way to transfer word documents between my laptop and iPad (in both directions) without losing footnotes, etc?

Documents To Go says it preserves footnotes. I haven't tried myself, but it generally gets good reports.
    Regards.

  • How do you sync your ipod to your itunes without loseing all your music?

Some how my itunes deleted all music (everything except my purchased music and I dont have my other music anywhere else only on my ipod.). Today I tryed to add a new Cd but i cant do that untill i get all my music from my ipod back into itunes by syncing it without losing everything. how do I do that i need to know ASAP

You need to put your ipod in manually manage mode. When you plug in your ipod the box that pops up is gonna state your ipod has been synced with another library do you want to erase and sync or transfer purchases or cancel. Hit cancel. Under devices in theleft hand side of itunes click the name of your ipod. That brings up a summary page, then select under options on that summary page manually manage ipod then click apply. You can then add content by dragging and dropping from itunes library to the name of your device. this allows syncing with multiple computers withuot losing content.

  • Syncing after deauthorising all 5 computers without losing apps

HI i have deauthorised the 5 computers that were on my account. Now when i plug in my ipad to try to sync it to a new pc it looks like it is going to wipe the ipad of the apps and data already on there. How do i sync it without losing all my apps and data?
    Thanks in Advance.

I am trying to re-establish all of our i-products (a family of iPhones & iPods) without losing game/app data, song lists, photos etc on each device .
I have started with an iPod I can afford to lose data on as a trial,
I have Backed it up , Transferred the Purchases and then even synced it from its front page on iTunes.
However when I select the Music tab in the iPod and then select Sync, it warns me that all music will be lsot and replaced with the current music on iTunes, and wipes the indicator on the botom of the screen of all music,
How do I sync this and each of our other devices without losing each indivisdual's data/ music/playlists/contacts/app data etc.
If I lose everything I will be the worst parent in the world, if i sync and data is saved i remain without thanks but with some semblance of self respect.

  • Can CC be installed on laptop and desktop

I do most of my editing on my desktop, but would like to have access occasionally on laptop, especially when traveling. Can it be installed and work on both devices?

    Mike
As Jerrett said, you can install it on a second computer. Here are the specific details:
    Pattie
    Purchased Software:
A single license for Adobe software lets you install the applications on two computers,  but you can only use the software on one computer at any given time. If you want to install the software on a third computer, deactivate the software on the computer on which you will no longer use the software. Then, activate the software on the new computer
You can install most Adobe software on up to two of your computers, with some qualifications.
    Creative Cloud:
If you are using creative cloud, you can install the apps on your primary computer and one backup computer. You will have access to both the Mac OS and Windows versions, so if you have a Mac at home and a PC at work, for example, you can install your applications on both. See the product license agreements page for more information. Read more in the Creative Cloud FAQ

  • How to sync iPhone 4s to new Mac without losing apps on iPhone 4s.

I previously had an iPhone 4 and 3Gs at the same time, but since then have sold them. Now when I try to sync my apps to iTunes it says that I can't unless I revert my apps to a previous setting that was used for either my iPhone 3gs or iPhone 4 and my other apps will be deleted.. I only use this computer now, but used to use another computer that was a pc. It is quite unstable so it wouldnt' be very easy to get on it grab my old files that I'm sure aren't complete anyways. All I need to do is take everything from this iPhone and back it up on my Macbook Pro. Thanks.

  • How can I sync my iPhone 4S and iPod Touch 4G to ANY computer/itunes without having to erase EVERYTHING on it?

I need to use another laptop to sync my music, I've already synced my iPhone 4S and iPod Touch 4G with my laptop and had to delete EVERYTHING to do so! I refuse to do this again, I was NEVER able to restore my phone back to it's original state since then.
How can I sync up my idevices to ANY computer w/ iTunes without having to completely bomb my iphone and ipod? And if I can't do that, how can I back up all my music and apps? I've already tried "back up device" and that did absolutely NOTHING to help my predicament.
Long story short, I had my devices synced to my desktop, my desktop broke, so I bought a laptop, synced my devices to my laptop after erasing all my data, and my laptop was destroyed during hurricane sandy, so now I have to use my parents/friends computers to sync new music and videos. BUT CAN'T BECAUSE MY DEVICES WERE ALREADY SYNCED TO MY LAPTOP AND DESKTOP!
If I can get ANY help, I would greatly appreciate it.
