HT1535 Getting videos off of ipad that have been lost on laptop.

My back up drive has recently failed. I had videos on there (as my laptop memory was full) that I put on to my ipad. Now my back up drive has died, and after a failed attempt to recover my data i am worried that if I now sync my ipad I will lose these videos! Is there anyway i can get these videos off of my ipad? These are very important videos, as a dance teacher and I am researching every possible route to try and save them! This is an Ipad 3 by the way

To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.

Since you have purchased a new Mac (which, BTW, is not typed in all capitals) why not buy a Time Capsule <http://www.apple.com/airport-time-capsule/> which is designed specifically to work with OS X and Time Machine?
You don't say what part of your Sony "crashed." If it was not the HDD it is possible to take the computer apart, put the HDD in an external case, then recover the data off of it (including the music) simply drag-n-drop. If it was the HDD that "crashed" that makes it more difficult.
If you are able to recover the music from the Sony you can then add it to the iTunes library on the Mac and iTunes Match will then scan, match and upload the tracks to be mirrored in the cloud.

I have some TV shows that I want to delete off my ipad but I cannot seem to use the swipe to the left method. There is a cloud to the right of the button. I have stopped syncing them with my computer, in fact have deleted them from the computer.

If you are seeing a cloud icon, they are not actually on your device, just available to download. If you wish to turn this off: Settings app > Videos > Show All Videos [turn OFF]. This is also available in for the Music and iBooks apps.

Outlook 2010 with 365 stripping attachments off of email that have been drag and dropped

In my office we just switched to 365 and since this I've noticed that roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of my email with drag and drop attachments are having those attachments stripped off.
Several times a day I send an email that has 6 attachments, mix of excel and pdf, and the excel called 'Checklist' I attach by drag and drop often get stripped off the instant I hit the Send button.
I will literally be looking at it, as one of 6 files, hit Send, and in my sent box there are only 5 files, the Checklist is gone! It's random; about 1/3 to 1/2 of them do this. Others make it through.
Please let me know if there is a fix to this? I'm having to resend attachments about 6 times a day now!

Please send several test emails with attachments on OWA, check if this issue will occur.
If the issue is on client only, we can start Outlook in Safe Mode to test, this can eliminate the influence by 3rd-party add-ins:
Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
In Outlook Safe Mode, send several test emails with attachments to see if the problem will ever occur. If no, we may suspect the issue was caused by some add-ins, go to FILE -> Options -> Add-Ins to disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which one
caused the problem.
We can also test with a new profile to setup the account, a new profile will be a new environment for the account, we can check if the problem will occur with the new profile and you don't need to remove the old profile.
To create a new profile, go to Control Panel -> Mail -> Show Profiles -> Add.

Yesterday I found that I have a big scratch on the left side of my iPad third gen... This scratch have been made by my smart cover ... I called apple and they said that it's not suppose to happen ! I also read on Internet that when your iPad has this problem apple replaces yours for free ... Is that true ... Sorry for my bad English ;)

to be fair, apple gave me a new ipad and a new smart cover, but im pretty sure this will happen again.

How do you get songs back that have been lost in a computer crash?

About 2 months ago my windows had crashed. We fixed it and everything but noticed that all of the songs from my account disappeared. The file name was there but the actual song would not play. If i am to click on one it would say this.

I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these

How can I get my data in Ipad that was been restored in Apple?

I just downloaded the Itune in y laptop so that I can connect my data to my Ipad. Unfortunately after downloaded the Itune, I pressed "restore" which my ipad had been connected in my laptop. Then after that, all the data from my ipad been gone like just been formatted. why? please help me if i can still access my data been restored.

The only way you can get that content back is if you have it backed up somewhere. Have you not backed up before, either in iTunes, or in iCloud?

Settings app has red number 1 at the top and I can't get rid off it. I have been through everything in settings eg. Turned everything off and it is still there

Since I updated to ios5.0.1 I have had a red number one on the settings app like there is something that needs to be done. I have tried to turn everything off in settings and gone through everything one by one but cannot get rid of it.

How do I delete photos from my ipad that have been imported directly from a memory card.

I have searched loads of forums and they all talk about using itunes to delete photos, but this seems to only apply to photos that orginated from a PC. The photos I am trying to delete were loaded directly on to my ipad from a memory card and don't appear in itunes. I know I can delete photos individually on my ipad but I have hundreds of them, The only option I have found that comes close to what I want to do is back-up ipad, delete photos I don't want to restore (not sure where to find back up or how to delete), rebuild ipad and restore - this seems a long winded way of doing something that would take less than a minute in windows. I have an ipad1 and am running windows 7 on a standards Windows PC.

Photos copied to the iPad via the camera connection kit (and those taken with the iPad or saved from emails/websites etc) should appear in Windows Explorer on a PC so you should be able to delete them from there - those types of photos should make the iPad appear as a camera to your computer. You should also be able to delete them at the end of the photo import process via, for example, the camera wizard.

Help.... need to get rid of 3000 photos that have been copied/duplicated by mistake

I have 5000 photo's but it shows I have 8000 items.
A lot of my photo's have some how duplicated/copied. How can I get rid of these, apart from manually checking each one, clicking and trashing, as this will take forever as they are all over the place. Is there a quicker way to get rid of these unwanted photo's.

I upgraded my iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 yesterday, and got carried away taking photos. I've just synced it with my iTunes so i could get all my apps etc from my 5 onto my new 6. It has deleted all the photo's I'd taken… Can and How can I get them back???

IF you backed up the phone prior to deleting the photos, you may be ableto restore them using your backup. If you had photo stream turned on, they may be in your photo stream.

Recapturing clips that have been lost from camcorder?

I accidentally trashed some of my capture files on my scratch disk and I thought I read somewhere that you can recaptpure tha same clip. I tried the reconnect media command but it just took me to my scratch disk where the original file was.

Make a new project. Drag the clips that are offline (red line through them) in the first project into the new project. In the new project open the capture window and press the Project button. Once you've captured the material, move it into the capture scratch folder for the original project and reconnect.
