HT1535 My iPod has a photo folder from my computer on it, but 'sync photos' is checked off on my iTunes.

When I plug in my iPod Touch 4th gen to my Windows Vista computer, and go to the "photos" tab of my iPod on iTunes, the box that says "Sync Photos From" is unchecked, and all of the boxes in its catagory- all of the photo folders on my computer- are unchecks as well. However, one of those foders in on my iPod. I've tried checking, and then unchecking the folder's box on iTunes, but it does no good. What is happening/how do I take the photos off? They're taking up 2 GB that i'd really like to have back. Thanks!

Wrong. That only works for pictures in the Camera Roll, not those in the Photo Album app.

Open itunes, connect ipod, select what you want to sync ( in the music tab) sync.

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.

turn your ipad off by holding the sleep wake button for 5 seconds and slide to turn off then turn it back on and the apps should be finished and if the apps didnt finish just redownload them

This may sound silly but try your date a time setting my ipod had the same problem and i had even checked the the date and time went all the way to the apple store for help and the genius guy just rest the date and time and it worked just fine.

Before you begin the import, edit the properties of the tracks to set the Album Artist to Various Artists and Part of a Compilation to Yes.

I had connected my iphone to a family member's computer simply to upgrade my software, and now I have a new macbook pro and it wants to delete all of my apps that are on my phone and replace them with what was on it at the time that I did the upgrade. I would like to get the info off of my mother's computer and simply be able to use it on the new computer. Any info would be appreciated.

You can copy the iTunes folder from one computer to the other, that will transfer all of your phone settings as well.

Is it possible to install an iOS upgrade from a computer other than your sync computer? I usually sync to my tower at home, but only have access to my laptop now. My laptop is authorized to the same iTunes account as the tower. If I do a software update for the iPhone on the laptop's copy of iTunes, will it wipe away my music that isn't from the iTunes store, etc?

Yes, but all your data will be replaced by whatever is on this other computer. So if you don't want that to happen wait and install on the computer with which the device is normally synced.

For outlook or hotmail emails they use a pop server technology that you can't sync your computer and your iPhone with. You have to unfortunately delete the emails from both devices. It is super frustrating but that is the only way.

Ok, I have an ipod video that I just got from the apple repair shop about a week ago, and it's not working at all. I'm pretty sure I got a virus on it from a song, but I can't do anythign because the computer won't read it. It's had plenty of charge, I had it plugged into the wall for hours and then plugged it into my computer and it doesn't even read it, and when it's plugged in I can't even open iTunes. Anyone else having this problem?

After you get the stuff on your computer, restore you iPod from either the backup on yur computer and sync or to factory defaults/new iPod and then sync.

My ipod keeps connecting and disconnecting from the computer

I've tried everything, first my ipod kept displaying the folder with the exclamation mark, then a couple of days ago started working again. It then wouldn't play any songs and just kept skipping. So I plugged it into my computer to restore it so I could start again. Now its displaying the folder with the symbol again, and just keeps connecting and disconnecting all the time so I can't do anything to it. Keep trying the ipod updater but says it cant mount ipod.
Any ideas????

I've been experiencing the same problem, but have managed to get it sorted.... well sort of.
As Jen's problem, I had the exclamation mark and after unsuccessfully trying to update etc decided to leave it out of frustration.
A day or so later it started to work again, great!!!
A few days of problem free use then I got the sad Ipod screen.
After checking the website I've restored and I'm now a week later and still trying to get my music from Itunes onto my Ipod.
The problem now, once again very similar to Jen's is that my Ipod only seems to connect to my PC for period of time and then disconnects, sometimes updating a few songs.
I get different 'Unknown Error' messages usually -124.
I've tried with both USB and Firewire connections and even when my Ipod disconnects it still charges, so it's not the port at fault.
Can't help but think it's the actual Ipod which is causing me this hassle and musicless journeys!!!
Any ideas?
