ah this is a simple fix. open itunes go to store on the top menu bar and click store. scroll down and click
"Authorize this computer" fill in the info requested and there u have it.

Try to see if perhaps you are connecting the drive to a surge protector and it might not be getting enough power, try to connect the adapter directly to a power outlet on the wall to see if you get a different result.

Hi there, to authorize a computer, you open up itunes, and at the very very top lefthand corner, there will be a little window. Click on that, and it will present you with a list of options. From there, you go to the third option down, which says "Itunes Store," hover over it with your mouse, and it will give you another set of options. From there, you can see the two options, "Authorize" an "Deauthorize computer. Just click on "Authorize," enter in your apple ID and password, and your computer will be authorized! On my recent synching with my iphone 4 when itunes reaches step 3 to transfer purchases, in this case ibooks, it states authorise this computer. I enter email address and password then receive a reply this computer is authorised I click ok immediately this computer is not authorised appears. I then have to cancel the request to authorise the computer which cancels the synching. It now means I can no longer access my ibooks from my iphone. Can anyone offer a suggestion please.

How can I get round problem with itunes. I get message saying computer isnt authorised to play some tracks Ive downloaded, tells me to authorise which I do, then a message appears saying the computer is already authorised but I still cant access the track

how can I get round the problem I have with itunes. I have bought and downloaded various tracks to my library. When I try to sync my iphone from my PC I get a message on screen saying that it is not authorised to play them and tells me to authorise the computer by clicking store, entering apple id and password then clicking authorise this computer. I do that then get a message saying that my computer is already authorised yet when I try syncing the track again the same thihng happens. Im getting nowhere!

If only some of the songs on an album are giving you the authorisation message, that suggests those song files are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.

Authorize the coumputer. Go to store in the top of the screen and authorize it.

Apparently not!! I am NOT happy about it either! I had always bought my mp3's from walmart.com (until they quit doing it) & ANY time I had a problem, they had it corrected in less than 5 minutes! Apple is a large enough company, that they should have an EASY to find support system. Having to post on here, WAITING for someone who MIGHT know how to fix it, is aggrevating!!
