HT1535 sync devices with different memory

I have an iPod and an iPhone. My iPod has more memory than my iPhone and is able to sync all music from my iTunes folder.
My iPhone has less memory and only syncs part of my iTunes library, then doesn't download the rest.
How can I manage what music is synced to my iPhone, without it impacting my iPod (where I want it to sync all)?

Create a playlist that is used to sync with the iPhone, and manage its content to use no more than the available device memory.

I am having trouble with the new calendar. My wife and I both use iPhones, and we have a mac mini. can the calendar be synced between two different apple id's?

Yes the Find My iPhone app can track different ids. To logout of one apple I'd in Find My iphone , GOTO the app > (track the devices) then when you want to track another I'd, press Sign Out in the app and then login with your other I'd.

Can I use iCloud to sync two devices with different apple ID's

What do you mean by "apple ID"?  There's an ID you can use at the iTunes store to buy songs, apps, etc.  there's an ID you can use for your iCloud account - the two can be different or the same. So which service are you referring to when you talk about an apple ID?

  • Can I backup two devices (with different documents) to one iCloud account?  For example: iPad and iPhone, not everything is synced between the two, but I would like to backup each (seperately in the cloud), is this possible?

    Hello Apple Community,
Can I backup two devices (with different documents) to one iCloud account?
For example: iPad Air and iPhone 5, not everything is synced between the two, but I would like to backup each (seperately in the cloud).  Is this possible?
This way when I change from an old ipad to a new, I can restore with the ipad backup, and when I change from an old iphone to a new, I can restore from the
    iphone backup.
    Thank you in advance!

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"?  There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.
    Read references for Home Sharing.
iTunes: How to share music and video - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2688 - about Music Sharing and Home Sharing

iOS: Setting up Home Sharing on your device - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4557 - "With Home Sharing in iOS 4.3 or later, you can stream your entire iTunes library over your home Wi-Fi network from your Mac or PC right to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."
The above can get pretty complicated.  You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

  • HT204053 Can you sync pages files on different devices with different apple ids?

Can you sync pages files on different devices with different apple ids?  I have a personal iPad and one given to me for work. They are set up with two different apple IDs.  I do all of my lesson plans in pages.  I want to be able to create plans on both devices, but need to know if there is a way to sync the files without emailing, etc.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
No, that's not possible. A better way of working around this than emailing the documents to yourself is to use a third party storage solution such as Dropbox and a webDAV server to upload the documents.

  • Synching across ios devices with different content

    Hello,
I am trying to assist a user at my company with synching his music content accross his devices using iTunes match.
I want to validate that music pulled from CD from his iOS devices will or will not be deleted.
Basically he does not have his home pc anymre that was used to download many songs from CD and put into iTunes. However, he has an iPad that contains those songs (as well as songs from iTunes) plus an iPod that may or may not contain music from CDs.
We have enabled itues match via his work computer and we saw that it uploaded his purchased songs to match, however when we turned on Match from the iPad, its say that it would replace the songs that were on the device. Our concern is that the music from the CD's will be lost and just replaced with his purchased music.
Essentially, we want the music from iTunes, Cds (on the ipad) and his iphone to all be stored and synced with iTunes Match accross all devices.
    thanks!

Thanks. Is there a way, then, to share music and apps across devices with different Apple IDs? Or does all music need to be purchased separately. I'm asking because my daughter has lots of music and apps on an older device that were purchased using her mom's Apple ID, but is now ready to have her own account on her new device, but would like to keep the music she's accumulated.

iTunes content can be commingled in the iTunes library on a computer and synced to iOS devices. The computer must be authorized to use the content from the respective Apple IDs in the iTunes Store menu.

The ANI Sever is finding devices by multiple ip addresses. One devices is showing up as two devices with different ip addresses. It will show up with the loopback under its hostname and also find it by a serial ip address.

  • HT204406 How can I syncing devices after adding memory through iCloud?

Every time I try to sync my iPod Touches, I am told that I cannot, because there is insufficient memory. I recently added more through paying for more through iCloud. I tried again to sync my devices and was given the same msg.
I apparently have 42G of memory available out of a total of 50g, so I fail to understand why I am told that there is not enough memory.
Can anyone help please? I am a teacher and use my two iPod Touches, my iPad2 and my MacBook Pro with my class so it is important to be able to sync my devices and have them up to date.
    Kind regards
    Suzanne Spiers

Go to your Contacts on your Mac - if more than one pick the most accurate; delete any contacts you don't want. Select all the contacts, and from the File menu choose 'Export...'>'Export vCard'. Save the resultant file safely: it will be your 'master' list.
Now delete all the contacts from whichever device has the most in it. Sync with iCloud. If necessary repeat with different Macs. The result should be that the deletions sync to iCloud and in the end you finish up with empty Contacts lists everywhere.
Now you can import your saved file to one of your Macs. Make sure you import it under 'iCloud' not 'On My Mac'. Then it should propagate iCloud and any other devices. Keep the saved file at least until you are satisfied that all is in order.

  • Managing/Updating devices with different versions of iOS

    Hi
I help manage a series of Apple Devices in our enterprise many of which have not recentlyl been updated to "newer" iOS versions. A handful of tehm go back to 4.2/4.3/5.0
I was curious to know if there were any upgrade recommendations or expectations to 8.1. Does it need to be a staged update for the oldest versions, is it even possible to do a staged update? Are there considerations that need to be made prior to encouraging users to backup and upgrade to the latest iOS?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Actually, on looking closer:
When I open the .nef files (double click from Bridge), CR 5.5 launches.
When I open .jpg files (CR icon on toolbar or "Open in Camera Raw" menu option, also from Bridge), CR 5 launches.
How / why would I have two versions - and with different menu options?

  • HT1391 How do I send iBooks to another device with different email

How do I move purchased books to another iPad with different email

ibooks, like other iTunes purchases/downloads, are tied to your iTunes account. If the other iPad is using your account then you should be able to re-download it directly on that iPad via the Store button at the top left of the bookshelf in the iBooks app and then the Purchased tab, or you can sync them to it via your computer's iTunes.

  • Devices with different Apple IDs ring the same time when some one facetime me.

I have iPhone 5s and iPad mini.  Each has its own Apple ID.  But, when some one facetime me on one of them, both are ringing.  Even one is in London, and one is in Austin.
How to fix to have iPad mini rings when facetime to it, or iPhone rings when facetime to iPhone, not both.
    Thanks.

Thank you for helping me on this problem.  To answer your questions,
    - No, each device has different contact, i.e. "reach me.." to different email address.
    - No, one of the Apple ID is totally new one for my iPhone 6s.
    - I have done some testing.  My son set up two different entries of my devices, i.e., one for each device.  But, it is still ringing one both devices when he facetimes me using one of his entries.
But, it seems that if someone just has setup to reach me on one device in her device, then, only this device is ringing.  So, I am not sure why.  My son's set up are two different contacts to my devices.
I will do more testing when my son brings his device back home.
    Thanks again.
