HT1539 how do I store movies on the cloud?

Do I have to store all movies on my PC or can I move them to the cloud like my kids can with their IPODS?  If so, how do I do this without deleting them from my itunes account all together?  I have an HP laptop with itunes application.
Thanks...

  • How can I store movies in the cloud and access them from my devices?

    Hello,
I would like to store movies in the cloud and access them from my device without having to download them to the device because there is not enough space on the harddrive to store them on it. How would I do this? Would I have to download the movies to my PC or could I store them directly in the cloud?
    Thanks,
    Tyler

Unfortunately I don't use sugarsync myself, I have a dropbox account and it works slightly differently.
As I understand it you can upload files to a folder in sugarsync from your computer without having them sync to any of your devices. You can access that folder from any of your devices, and although you would need to download them in order to play the video file, you could then delete them without deleting the files in the sugarsync folder in the cloud.

    There is good news coming!
Technology experts are working on a movie storage system where YOU have physical possession of the movie.
This system stores the movie digitally on an optical disk system that will not be dependent upon a congested, complicated, and fragile network.
Because all of the data is stored only a few feet from your television, all the bottlenecks are removed.  Performance and reliability are virtually flawless.
Further, the system will not utilize any form of security codes, authentications, or passwords. Once the optical disc is purchased it can be moved around freely at will, and can even be lent or given to friends and neighbors with zero hassles.

  • How do stream my movies from the cloud without downloading to my ipad mini?

i would like to buy a load of movies and build up a big movie library to watch movies on my ipad mini.  unfortunately my ipad mini is only 16gb and will not be able to store all the movies i want to buy as this will run into hundreds of pounds for the movies i want.  how do i keep the movies i buy in the cloud so when i browse my movies in my library from my ipad mini they just stream and watch without downloading?  thank you

You can buy and store in the cloud, but to watch on your iPad you must download.

  • How to store files in the cloud??

I just signed up to photoshop CC.  How do I store files in the cloud?

    Yes, finally, thank you.
I must say, this whole CC thing is opaque as far as learning something specific.  The FAQ experience leads into a maze of irrelevant paths when you (rather, I) want somethin specific.  I don't even know how to actually get into this forum -- I stumbled into it te first time, and the second, and now this time -- although your answer to my first question finally led me to set up the CC folder.
I hope things get easier from here.  Having said that, I have to admit I don't know how to sign up to Behance.  When I go there I have to sign in but I'm not given a place to Sign UP.  Sigh.  Maybe you can help me out again.

HOW DO I STORE MY MOVIES IN THE CLOUD?

If they can be stored in the cloud, they're already there; only movies purchased from the iTunes Store can be put there, and this isn't available in all countries.

How do I download a purchased movie from the cloud to my iPad I?

You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.

how can I transfer movies from the apple tv to the ituenes, to watch in the ipad?

Is this a rental or a purchase?
Rentals on ATV cannot be transferred.
The 2nd and 3rd gen model do not have accessible storage. Some movie purchases are stored in iCloud (if you live in the US) where you can reload in iTunes on your computer)
If you own the 1st gen aluminum model then it should be set to sync

  • I've authorized my new computer but don't know how to move a movie from the cloud to my i touch

I have several movies in the "cloud" and after authorizing my new computer, i don't know how to move them to my i touch after downloading them from the cloud.  How do i do that?

Open the Address Book. Select File-New-Address Book
Drag the contacts from the existing book and drop them on the folder for the new book.

  • Do you have to store songs locally before they will move to the cloud?

do you have to store songs locally before they will move to the cloud?

I agree, though yes, the question is not clear.
In the event you're asking if the songs have to be "local" meaning on an internal hard drive, the answer is a qualified "no."
You can have an itunes library on an external drive, but the drive has to be active when Match is running and it will also have to stay on in order for Match to work properly after that.  You can get around this by creating a separate empty library once you have moved everything to the cloud, and populating that library with the songs in the cloud.

  • How do I transfer a purchased iTunes movie to the cloud and free up the 5GB from my iPad?

I purchased a movie from iTunes using my iPad. How can I transfer that movie to the cloud and free up the 5GB from my iPad?

There is nothing to "transfer." The iTunes in the Cloud service is always-on. Simply delete the movie from the iPad and it will still be in your purchase history for re-download. However it is strongly recommended that you download all purchases to your computer and back them up locally as the iTunes in the Cloud service is not a backup service and should be relied on as such.
To find the movie in your purchase history in iTunes make sure you are logged in with the same Apple ID used to purchase the movie on the iPad.

  • How to store pictures in the cloud storage

Can you store pictures in the cloud service? What would the cost be and if at all possible or is it only for music..Thanks...

Jason, is there a way to store the photos into a permanent cloud storage and keep them there? I guess, something like the itunes music, where apple saves all of your music....Thank you for the site, which has helped me considerably to understand what it is all about...Ciao, Jo
Jo, not that I'm aware of as an offering from Apple. While the photo stream can serve that purpose for a finite period of time (it's a rolling 1,000) if you're looking for web/cloud hosting or something similar to the galleries feature that .Mac/MobileMe offered you'll need to seek it elsewhere. The good news, there are numerous cloud storage services out there most of which offer free storage ranging between 2GB and 5GB.
I personally use Dropbox.com for photo galleries and cloud storage/file sharing. But there's several to pick from and all of them are quite good.

  • Movies in the cloud not working

    Hi,
So... on and off today, the movies we've purchased from the iTunes store but left in iCloud are unplayable.
Actually, for a moment there they also disappeared. I did find a way to get them back. First, I had to go under the "View" menu in iTunes and "hide" and then "show" the movies again. Otherwise, there was no option in preferences to "show purchased videos..." in the iTunes preferences. That alone seems like a bug (if I didn't go through the view menu stuff, the preference choice to show purchased videos just wasn't there).
But now, I go into iTunes and I have to keep going in to preferences to RE-select to show purchased videos, otherwise I can't see the movies in the cloud. This is messed up. On our Mini, I can see them but they have no icon in itunes and when I try to push play they stall at zero. This is only the videos parked in the cloud that I'm talking about. And yes, the internet connection is working otherwise.
Has anybody else had a similar experience... and if yes, what to do?

Apologies, it appears I have posted this in the incorrect category. I have posted a duplicate under iTunes for Mac. Unfortunately i have no idea how to remove my original post.

  • How do I remove items from the cloud without losing them permanently?

My icloud storage is almost full. How do I remove items from the cloud and not lose them?

    What items?
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books do not use up your iCloud storage.
See the link below for how to reduce the amount of storage you're using:
