I just got an iphone 4 and when I go to sync it, it appears in the left hand column but when I click on it there is just a blank screen with the apply logo and a tiny lock.
OK, I think I fixed it.
After trying to restore with an old backup from the phone (it estimated it would take 4 hours) I cancelled and went through the setup menus again, but set it up as a new phone. It then appeared in iTunes and I restored it from the computer, not the phone. It appears to be working, it's syncing my old apps right now.
Summary:
1. Reset settings on phone (hopefully you backed up fairly recently)
2. Set up as NEW iPhone in setup menu on phone
3. Restore from iTunes on computer when it recognizes the phone
4. Cross fingers -
My apple TV is connected to a DTV with an HDMI cable and to my Yamaha receiver via optic cable. We rented a movie on Apple TV and.found that the movie played, but we only got audio for music tracks. Voice tracks were silent using both TV and receiver. This only occurred on the rented video and on recorded shows on my cable DVR. previews and other content on Apple TV are fine. Any ideas??
Previews and trailers do not contain 5.1 audio.
If you have recently moved your setup, you may have inadvertently changed some of the settings on your receiver. It certainly sounds as though it is unable to play the 5.1 audio from the Apple TV. -

Open System Preferences > Displays > select the window for you external monitor > click on the Arrangement tab and check the box next to Mirror Displays. It may be slightly different in Lion, but the idea is the same. -

I was able to hook up my macbook pro to my tv using an hdmi cable and all I see is my desk top but not the movie playing on Netflix. Is there some utility I need to do on my computer?
Your TV is acting as an extension of your desktop. You can have some windows on your internal screen and some on your TV. Just drag the ones you want on your TV to that part of the extended screen. You can find out how the two screens are related spacially (and control it) at System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement.
If you prefer the two screen display the same windows, you can activate mirroring on that same preferences panel. You will have to choose what common resolution they both use. -
I used the HDMI cable from my Macbook Pro to my Panasonic TV to watch DVD's but I had no sound, so I used the community suggestion in going to system preferences>sound etc. followed the instructions and got great sound in fact very loud to my TV so I turned down the volume from my TV remote control. After watching the DVD's I disconnected the HDMI from my TV and realized for some reason my TV volume now is not returning to it's full volume even though I've tried to turn it to it's maximum. Any constructive assistance is truly appreciated. Thanks.
Hey, it's a simple fix that should give most people what they want until there is full VZW support: the ability to use their card with the VZAM software. I didn't see anyone else offering that suggestion... If you don't want to use it, you don't have to.
At the very least, this does seem to prove the theory that this is an issue with the 32/64bit compatability that some have refuted. -

A few days ago i purchased an original iPhone from my friend that was broken. It would not load past the white apple logo when i turned it on. I put the iPhone in recovery mode and restored it to iOS 3.1.3 and assumed it would work after that. I however, was wrong! The iPhone is currently stuck on the slide for emergency and connect to itunes screen. When i plugged it into the computer and went to itunes, the phone was listed under devices. But when i clicked on it, it just came up with a blank white screen that said iphone in big gray letters. I live in Italy because my father is in the military so therefore i cannot take it to an apple store to ask someone smarter than me for one on one help with this problem. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated i just want to have this phone working again! lol
Ok!!! I found the way how to do it and everything is fine now. If someone has got the same problem as me you just need to restart your iPad. You hold the Sleep/wake button till the red line comes out then you scrol your finger on it and then after a minute you hold the same button again till the apple sing come out.

Is this a cable modem? It has to be off for at least 20min and sometimes much longer before it will give up the old settings. You might even need to power down the cable modem overnight.
Tell us exactly what broadband you have with what ISP and exact model of modem..
The new TC cannot be setup without using the latest airport utility 6.3.1 or 6.3.2 and you need Lion - Mavericks to use it.
The computer also needs to have ipv6 setup to local link on whatever you are connecting with, wireless or ethernet. -

In most scenarios you shouldn't need to forward ports, however if you need to, you may be best contacting your ISP.
As with most router issues, I would recommend that you contact your ISP with details of your problem (assuming that it was your ISP that provided it to you).
There are simply too many manufacturers with different software features and settings and often different names for such features and settings, that the best advice will likely come from those that are knowledgeable about your particular router.
