HT1551 Will atv work on a sony wega kdf55

will atv work on a sony grand wega kdf 55xs955?

Welcome to the Apple community.
Your TV, after doing a quick search on the Internet, does not appear to have any HDMI inputs, so unfortunately the Apple TV will not work with it straight out of the box.

  • Will ATV work with a Sont KE-P42SX1

I have asked something in this line before but want to do a final check before I go out and hand over money for a ATV.
I have a NON-HD Widescreen Sony P42SX1 Plasma TV. It has Component Video Y. PB/CB, Pr/Cr input and 576p signal input.
I understand from other posts that this will work - the question is how well. I am only interested in iPhoto and iTunes content. Right now we do not have enough Video content in Europe to make me want to stream video content to the TV.
I also do not want to stream iTunes to the box but use it as a remote iPod like device that can play content while the Mac G5 is off or sleeping. The same applies to iPhoto, I simply want to be able to see my albums of photos on the living room TV. My wife has her collection while I have mine - same for music.

Rick it may depend on consumer law from country to country, there has been a bit of a kerfuffle about the term HD ready here, I'm not sure what has happened elsewhere. Basically it seems your TV has a 1024 by 1024 resolution, which is a little non standard but certainly much better than standard definition, although I suspect it's tuner will only ever work with SD broadcasts.
The tv will sync with one computer but stream with up to five. I'm afraid you will be able to sync one of your computers and turn it off, but the other computer (or user, if applicable) will need to stream, which means it will have to be on and running itunes, before you can stream from it.

  • My iphone 4 s will not work in my sony docking station

I just updated my phone on itunes and now it will not play on my docking station or when I try to connect to my aux cable in my vehicle

Hmmm, ok then, while this may well be a more extreme thing to do it might well be worth a try and that's to create a new user account on your computer, log into that and try a Restore of your iPhone from iTune in there. As it's a totally new user account and problems that may be coming from iTunes, the firmware download or really, anything from anywhere will be completely avoided. The Restore will be as "clean" as you're pretty much going to get it.
As with all Restores, doing this will delete anything on your iPhone so be sure to have a backup if there's anything important on it that's not available elsewhere.
If th problems go away then you know what to be pointing your finger at and you have options. If it doesn't then you can simply Restore the phone to a backup and contune on where you left off.

  • Will Premiere Elements work with a Sony Handycam HDR-PJ380

I bought an avid studio video editing software that does not work with my Sony.  Looking at Premiere Elements 13.  Will that work with the SONY video language?

    piscitellim
From what I have read of your Sony Handcam HDR-PJ380 video specifications, I would expect that you would be able to import, edit, and export one of its video recordings. Assuming you are not getting a AVCHD.avi file which is not supported by Premiere Elements. Best I can determine, you should be getting AVCHD.mts or AVCHD.mp4.
But, what do you mean by the "SONY video language"?
But, whatever the case, I would strongly encourage you to give the Premiere Elements 13 tryout a workout before purchasing it to assure that it is compatible with your computer environment, source media, and project goals.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Sony - DVDirect MC5; Will it work?

I am in quite a dilemma trying to transfer old home movies from a Sony TRV260 camcorder to DVD. I recently purchased a Windows Vista computer not realizing that software for my old camcorder is not compatible with Windows Vista! There is a patch available for download, but am unable to obtain it due to my extremely slow dial-up internet access. (I tried downloading on another computer, but it would not continue because that computer was not Vista!)
    I saw the :
    Sony - DVDirect 16x External Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive
    Model: VRD-MC5 | SKU: 8470923
on sale in this weeks ad.
However, it has some very bad reviews about working properly & Sony's poor customer service which I've already experienced.
Does ANYBODY know if this device will work with Sony TRV260?
Are there any special circumstances, exceptions, etc. I should be aware of?
Does anyone else have ideas regarding turning these old tapes into DVD's?
    HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi jennlynd,
I read through the manual for the Sony DVDirect external DVD drive model VRD-MC5 and it says it works with any Sony Handycam Digital8 camcorder. The Sony TRV260 camcorder is a Sony Handycam Digital8 camcorder so this DVD drive should work fine to copy your videos to a DVD.
Another option you have is to have us convert your videos to DVD, and if you want to learn more about this service you can read more about it here. I hope this helps!

  • Sony Digital Media Port TDM-iP50 will it work with iPhone 4

Just wondering as SJ stated that a new dock would be needed with iPhone 4
would the Digital Media Port Sony TDM-iP50 still work ?
As this presently does with my 3GS

Can I just confirm that The New iphone 4 does not work with the TDM-iP50
(I have iPhone 3GS with operating system 4 installed which works on my TDM-iP50)
I would like to upgrade to the new iPhone but will not if it means my media port will not work.
I was afraid that my TDM-ip50 cradle from Sony would not work with the iPhone 4 because that's what I read somewhere online and it's even what Sony told me when I called them. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I got my iPhone 4 to find that it works just fine as it did with my 3GS. I guess Sony hadn't yet tested the cradle with iPhone 4 so they didn't want to say it would work.
The iPhone 4 can be hooked to TVs with the Apple Component Cable or Composite Cable instead of a cradle, but you won't have the remote control you do with the TDM-ip50. Well, at least I have remote control using the remote from y Sony Home theater system. Make sure you get the correct cable, read about both of them on the Apple site. cheap knockoffs are available on eBay.

  • 2008 MBPro to Sony Wega Trinitron TV?

I've got a 2.4 GHZ MB Pro from mid-2008. I am trying to connect the CPU to an older model Sony Wega Trinitron TV (probably 2004). I have an DVI to Component Video cable, which goes into the back of the TV, but I can't get a picture on the TV. All I get is b/w feedback. I tried going through all of the different resolutions available in my Display prefs, but nothing worked. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
I am thinking I might need that DVI to S-video adapter that Apple sells? Maybe I just need to use the VGA adapter included with my macbook and go VGA? Pretty sure the TV is VGA.
    Thanks,
    JB

Some TVs have the ability to switch one or more of their component video inputs to receive RGB encoded video over the input instead of the usual YPbPr encoding. See if your TV can perform that trick.
Otherwise, you are correct that you will need to get the Apple DVI to Video Adapter in order to connect your TV. Although you mention you think your TV is VGA. If by that you mean it has a the standard 3-row, 15-pin VGA connector on it, then use an Apple DVI to VGA Display Adapter.

  • FINALLY! Mac mini to old Sony WEGA tv success!

After having tried several different setups I finally got it working.
My late 2009 Mac mini is now hooked up to my old 27” Sony WEGA Trinitron TV.
They magic/missing link was the “VGA to RCA/ S-Video/VGA Converter” from MonoPrice ($27.51).
I used a mini display port to VGA adapter ($13.47, but can get them cheaper) from my Mac mini to the converter and then from the converter to the tv using a standard composite (yellow RCA) cable. Then another cable from the Mac mini audio port to the red/white ports on the tv. Started up the Mac mini and all was good...almost.
The resolution on the tv just isn’t good for text, and it’s often difficult to read, but the main reason I’m using the setup is video. Hulu, YouTube, TWIT live, etc. All of these have picture quality equal to that of the tv hooked up to cable tv. I tried changing the Mac minis display resolution, but found the default setting of 1024 x 768 works best for video. I have a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac in my office. I just turned on Internet Sharing on the iMac and turned on Airport on the mini to get the wireless internet connection. No Base Station/Router needed. I have a bluetooth mouse, and an Apple wireless keyboard. I can now sit back on the sofa and enjoy!
This isn’t a permanent solution, but until I can upgrade the tv, it will do just fine.

is it apple branded or an off brand?
I bought it through amazon. NOT Apple branded. The seller was Global Source. There are other sellers on amazon that are less expensive, and some that are more expensive. I’ve heard of people having problems with some cables, so I didn’t want to go with the cheapest one, and settled on a mid priced cable.

  • HT204291 After updating software on my Apple TV home sharing will not work. Both Apple TV and iMac have home sharing on but when Computer is selected on Apple TV I just get a message saying "turn home sharing on".  But it is.  How can I solve this problem

I have just updated the software on my Apple TV since then home sharing will not work though I had not used it since installing iOS6 on my iPad 3.  Home sharing is shown to be on on the Apple TV and on on my iMac.  The Apple TV is connected to the router with an ethernet cable and all functions work correctly apart from my computer.
    I have done the following.
Switched off the Apple TV and rebooted, did the same with iMac
Turned off home sharing then turned it on.
Checked that home sharing is on on both devices.
    Selected Computer
Get a message telling me to turn home sharing on - IT IS!
Tried using airplay mirroring on the iPad but the airplay function is missing from iPad.
It is so annoying since before iOS6 and updating the Apple TV software everything worked perfectly.  Any help would be very gratefully received.
    Thanks

    Hi Everyone,
hope this message finds you all in time. The recent Apple TV update 5.1 is terrible. Apple knows it is which is why (thankfully for some relentless user -I have no idea who but I believe it was under threat) they have allowed to sign 5.0.2 again which means you can downgrade your Apple TV 2 and 3 to a 5.0.2 version via iTunes. Who knows how long they will keep the window open but I have downgraded my ATV early this morning. I couldn't post this earlier because I was out all day but I am doing it now.
    Here's how to do it:
    1) Connect your ATV to your computer via a Mini USB (not included with ATV but included with many other electronic devices) - in order for your ATV to appear in iTunes you must FIRST plug the USB cable to your computer and ATV and only THEN plug the power cable.
    2) Download your ipsw restore file from Apple.
    5.0.2 (ATV 2): AppleTV2,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
    5.0.2 (ATV 3): AppleTV3,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
    3) In iTunes select yout ATV, hold SHIFT and click on Restore
    4) Find and choose the downloaded IPSW file in the Open Dialog Box and hit Next
    5) As long as Apple still signs that version the Restore process will begin and will take a few minutes to complete.
    Enjoy!

  • Getting mac min to look good on Sony Wega 30" HDTV CRT (KV-30HS420

Got a new mac mini (Intel 1.83 GHz) and am hooking it up to a Sony Wega 30" HDTV CRT (model no. KV-30HS420) using an DVI to HDMI cable. No problems selecting input and getting an image, but at 1280 x 720 the desktop looks horrible. Turning off "overlace" gets all of my desktop back in view, but everything is blurry and it is simply not acceptable for my 78 year old father.
Is it simply not possible to get a descent image on this set? Should I just opt for buying him a wide screen flat panel display?
    Please advise.
    --ron

Unfortunately a CRT-based HDTV is never going to look very good when used as a computer monitor. You will probably need to get a nice LCD TV for your father.
How far away will he sit from the TV? Even if the screen were clear, as it will be with an LCD, there are still limits to what can be seen when you are too far away. Keep that in mind.

  • Intel Mac Mini and Sony Wega displays

I purchased one of the G4 based Minis for use in my media center. At that time I had quite a bit of difficulty getting it to work with my Sony KDF-60xs955 60" HDTV. I did eventually get it working and stable but the process, when written down for others in this forum post, is somewhat intimidating.
My parents really need a new machine for their daily use and I'm going to be donating that Mini to them. Before I replace it with a new intel Mini (yay Front Row!) I want to know whether it will autodetect my television or not. I have no desire to spend the 4-5 hours needed to hack it into working again, plus the hassle of getting it to work again any time I switch displays for a few hours. More importantly I don't feel like I should have to...The HDTV is automatically detected by a PowerBook and that works flawlessly.
One of the major reasons I pay higher prices to Apple is so that it just works. My new iMac? It just works. My old PowerBook? It just works. My old Mac Mini? Not so much... So, here I am hoping to get an answer out of these forums: To buy or not to buy that is the question, whether tis nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous non-support or to take my cash away from this sea of troubles and by opposing end them.
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
I have downloaded the lastest Windows Media Player from Microsoft for Mac OS X, but it doesn't officially support the Intel Macs. It runs with wmv videos from my harddisk, for example, but I also can't play the amazon.com sound samples (I just tried). I guess it's because the Windows Media Player is running via Rosetta, maybe there is some problem there.
For the moment I could only suggest to use the Real-player sound samples as a work-around. Real player does work on the Intel Mac with these sound samples. Just that on my machine it does only download and I have to start it from the desktop instead of right inside of Safari. Maybe it's just a question of preferences, but it does work, at least.

  • Will iLife work on....

I need some help. I want to tranfer some of my home movies to my G4 then burn a DVD. I have read some great things about the new iLife. I was wondering if it can transfer my Sony HC-32 Mini DV home movie to my G4. I have tried with some other programs with my PC running XP but it did not work that well. Will iLife work better? Out of all I read can it tranfer to my G4. I t saids it is good for creating a movie with lots of effect. Can anyone help me out. Thanks.
    Jon

    Hi Jon,
    welcome to this forum
... well, the actual version of iLife is No.6, as you can read here
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/systemrequirements.html
has high demands on your computer's specs, your Mac is probably a little "underpowered"...
I do use on my Cube/450 iLife5 (or HD as the apps are called) with great success... ok, creating DVDs is a "overnight" job (=hours and hours....). the Cube doesn't fullfill the specs of iLifeHD either, but I had no problems to install, and iDVD do work with my combo... consider, buying an "old" version of iLife, preferable 04.
so, I'm sure it will work, maybe a little... ponderous. don't be too ambitous with this combo, no "Titanic II" in the made...
    ===addendum===
your (sorry to say that>>) old G4 doesn't have the graphic-card to allow all the "magic" the new 10.4. offers/no support of core-video... so, probably no realtime effects etc...-
