Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

Do you have any firewalls or antivirus software active (e.g. Little Snitch), that could prevent the installer from contacting the Apple Servers? If yes, turn them off. Also, disable the Energy saver, to prevent the Mac from falling asleep and causing time outs.

Make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk to install software updates...
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

For a few weeks I have been using the GMail app on my iPhone 4S to get mail without problem. When I wanted to check something in Apple's Mail app, which has worked well for years, I now get a message for my principal email address that the server is "not responding," even though the same server is responding to my GMail app. For some reason, when I dismissed the message in Mail, it popped up again, but then could be dismissed. Did something change in Mail that requires some imap addresses be deleted and readded? Any idea?
I would not want to think that Mail is programmed to befuddle if it is ignored too long.

If you have some applications, it could easily be clipart that was included. Even MS Office has folders of clipart. 687 MB isn't all that much these days, if you have a few apps that include some.

I downloaded an app that cost $9.99 and when I tried to use it I get a message that says there is compass interference and to move away from the interference or wave the phone in a figure 8 pattern. Well, now I have a sore arm from constant waving out in the middle of a field and it appears that is going to cost $29 to talk to a person. Does anyone have any idea why this is occuring? As a side note, I can use a normal compass with no issues so it is the phone. From a customer perspective, this is poor customer service.

First of all, an idle threat is one that a person has no intention of carrying out. In the past 16 months that I have had this phone I have become less and less satisfied and found that it is like much of today's technology....over rated and under performing. The one thing that I have never been accused of is not wanting, or not giving help but when a company makes itself unavailable to resolve issues and leaves it to forums run by users helping users, it speaks more about the company than anything else they could do. Itunes downloaded but says that there is windows32 error and can't run it

Basically my question is stated in the subject- I downloaded it, and then there was no shortcut or anything. So I searched my C:\ and found the iTunes setup, which is what I downloaded. I double click and a window shows up saying error can't run on this windows or something like that- it also said windows32 error or something. It's the latest version of iTunes. I don't know what to do, but whatever is wrong with it is causing a lot of problems because I'd like to download my iTunes!

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

Slow streaming problem with New Apple TV (2nd Gen)

I'm using an ADSL 4meg link to my house. Sustained download speeds from most decent websites comes in well over 300KB/sec I can preview movies from Itunes, using my IMAC wirelessly using Netgear DG834/g router within seconds...Using Apple TV the Preview takes well over a minute, and to download a Standard Def movie takes 3 hours, which is really annoying, why is this when the same kit/infrastructure can view YouTube content within seconds. Using Ethernet makes no difference to the download time, (for those that were gonna suggest a Wireless Router problem). I've read these threads and Apple themselves suggest a 2MB link or over is adequate. Has anyone come across this, can advise. I've just today downloaded the 4.1.1 update, makes no difference.....HELP...PLEASE....

Easy...slow internet speed with slow wifi router = looong download times. Do the maths :
Average SD movie size approx 1.5 GB (1500 MB)
Average HD movie size approx 3.5GB (3500 MB)
Your advertised internet speed is 4Mbps = 0.5 MB/s. Rarely you can get that advertised speed. Let say you can reach an optimistic average of 0.25 MB/s (250 KB/s)
1500 MB / 0,25 MB/s = 6000s = 100 min so approx 2 hours. On top of that, if your router doesn't work at full speed because distance from the Apple TV, walls, interference, etc.....= long download times.
For those who complain about long download times with HD movie, repeat the same exercise and you "will see the light". And by the way, hopefully you are kidding when you compare Youtube content with iTunes store content.
Secret : Fast Internet connection + fast reliable n router = great Apple TV performance.

Homeshare login problems with my new Apple TV (2nd gen)

My Apple ID is my first name, a space and then my last name. The problem is when I attempt to login, there is no space button (button is occupied by the "dot com" button). The underscore button and the dash button do not work. I spoke with tech support and they said I need to wait for a SW update but had no other info. Has anyone heard about any work-arounds? Any word on a SW update ETA?
