HT1600 AppleTV fails to update from 5.0 to 5.0.1
I have tried to restore and update the software multiple times - The update process gets to the second step and fails every time... help!
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
• Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
• Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
• Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
• Open iTunes.
• Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

Camera Raw fails to update from 7.0 to 7.1
Hi guys. I'm using Photoshop CS6 with Camera Raw 7.0. I have a D800 (which is why I purchased CS6) and attempted to update to CR7.1 I get the following error:

Update is not applicable. Error Code: U44M1P28
I've cleared my prefs, tried the standalone installer, rebooted, all to no avail.
If anyone can help lead me in the right direction, I would be forever grateful!

There seems to be a little problem between Windows setup Wizard and the device driver's communication.
You may check at the lenovo official website and see if they could offer any further assistance.
Besides, how you installed the drivers?
For the current situation, you may take a try to refresh the current build using the downloaded ISO file, or try a clean install of Windows 10 9926 build.

Mov import fails after updating from version 4 to 4.2.1
Okay, here's the story:
I've got 2 Computers - my AVID System and my new Premiere Pro System (that I hate already!)
I exported 2 QT file from AVID Express.
1. a QT .mov file with avid dv codec
2. a QT .mov file animation uncompressed
I Installed QT PLAYER and the AVID Codecs on my new PP Computer and tried to import both files into PP CS4 (Vers. 4.2.1)
Both files were imported, Audio was okay, but video appeard black.
I deinstalled PP and installed version 4.0 from the original DVDs. I imported the videos again and:
Video 1 (AVID codec) imported fine and video was there!
Video 2 QT uncompressed didn't import! Still Audio but a black video!
Then I updated to PP 4.2.1 and now both videos have the same problem again. Just sound and a black video...
I need at least to be able to open an uncomressed QT .movHmm, I don't seem to have that problem and I have Avid and Premiere Pro on the same Mac laptop.
Couple of things to try - most of which I'm sure you've already done.
latest version of QuickTime
latest version of the Avid codecs - it's sometimes a pain as I've been fooled by the Avid website as to what's the latest version in the past.
clear your prefs - http://blogs.adobe.com/genesisproject/2009/11/having_weird_behavior_with_an.html
provide some more information about your system - specifically graphics card and driver version, OS, memory, etc would be nice too.
I think that adjusting to any new NLE takes some time: For example, I find Avid somewhat frustrating by it's modality, but obviously it's a great editor nonetheless. There are a lot of free tutorials that you can explore at Adobe TV among others.

Failed firefox update from 2 to 3.6.3 Zandros
I'm using Linux Xandros on the eeepc and I have firefox 2. When I try to download firefox 3.6.3 it fails because it says "/tmp/firefox-3.6.3.tar.bz2 could not be opened because the associated helper application does not exist, change association in preferences" I have no idea what to do. Help this lost semi-illiterate computer senior. Thanks
I had GB1 and iDVD4 on my iMac running 10.3.9, and GB2 and iDVD5 on my iBook running 10.4.7. I wanted to upgrade GB (to be able to use iControl) and iDVD (because v4 stopped working after an Apple update to QuickTime) but the iMac wouldn't allow the use of the iBooks install disks (not surprisingly) so I simply copied the two applications over: they work perfectly well. Just as an experiment I tried copying iMovie over and it wouldn't open on the iMac (probably requires some support files) - I didn't need it anyway, just experimenting.
It's probably against the licence to copy iDVD in this way, but since v4 stopped working thanks to Apple's update (an incompatibility they have shown no sign of dealing with) I don't really care. -
Flash Player fails to update from Download Center
I have been trying, with no success, to install the latest version of Flash Player on my PC. When I am directed to the Download Center, it is a blank page, minus the header for Adobe Flash Player. This is extemely frustrating. My PC had operated just fine, allowing us to play all types of games on FaceBook, until sometime in February, when all of a sudden, error messages began appearing, games would no longer load and would sort of hang up showing perhaps a 31% loading message and just remain at that percentage. My fiance used to play WGT Golf game and Poker Stars, and now he cannot play those, as they, too, fail to load! I am frustrated beyond belief at this point in time. I do not understand how some games can still work on my PC, and others cannot. Please, someone help me figure out what is going on with the Flash Player on my PC! Thanks much, Lauretta Phillips

Cyberduck fails to update from Apple Store
I have been a Cyberduck user for years but now it is on the Apple Store I get a failure message when I try to do the update. Other purchases update just fine. Cyberduck respond to my emails saying that they have no control over Apple Store.
How can I contact the Apple Store to advise them of this issue?Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe modeand log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -
Contacts Failing to update from Outlook
Recently I had the problem that my hotsync was trying to sync my docs... that mystery was solved and it's finally stopped (there is NO WAY my docs will fit on my palm lol).
BUT
Somewhere along the line, the setting for my contacts got changed during that hooplah and I have no idea what I did (blonde moment).
My contacts are no longer updating/syncing with my Outlook.
Please let me know what settings I need to look at to see where I've gone wrong and what needs to be 'checked' or 'unchecked' that won't mess with other syncing setup (don't want to go back to default) to get it functioning again?

There may be database corruption causing the issue. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. This program has a trial version that you can download and install on your Palm OS device. The trial version will scan for database corruption and then report the corruption. You can then find the records causing the problem and fix them yourself or you can purchase the program and have it automatically fix the records.

Hi, some computers, not all fail to update from WSUS.
Manual installing the full updates works.

Client is manually install, unmanaged, no SystemCenter server.I know this is an old post, but I've seen this several times on client pc's. Seems to happen only with .NET updates, it'll install one, then fail the rest. Windowsupdate.log file shows WARNING: Failed to delete old install directory
at C:\windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\Install. This may block future installs. It seems like concurrent installs fail because of this folder, and like the OP, when I reboot, that folder is gone and I can install the next update, which fails
the remaining updates, and then we repeat the process. This actually happened to me today new pc build, installed .net 4.0, .NET updates fail with error code 80070005. Yes, I'm logged in with an admin account. Anyone have any suggestions?

Updating from 1.1.1 to 1.2 or 1.3
Hi all,
I have been trying to update the software so I can use the Nike+, but have not been able to. Keep getting a "There was a problem downloading the iPod software for the iPod. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active or try again later". I also downloaded the Software Updaters for 1.3 and 1.2, but 1.3 says "iPod Service Error" and 1.2 does not see the iPod as connected when it is (iTunes can see it). Any advice??? Thanks
Acer Travelmate 4000 Windows XPThe Nano update routine consistently fails to update from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3. It will do the entire 20MB download but then always crashes at installation on an error (-48), which is an "unkonwn" type of error.
Since the Itunes updator will update the Itunes software, it is clearly not a network connection problem.
Any idea when Apple will issue a software fix to correct this failure to download the 1.1.3 Nano software update?

A -1 error code often indicates a hardware problem, but it can also indicate an inability of iTunes to connect to the update server due to being blocked by security software on your computer. For help with that possibility, see:
Troubleshooting security software issues
If that fails, try updating from another computer. If that still fails, your iPod may have a hardware failure.
Note that if you have a first-generation iPod touch, it can only be updated to iOS 3.1.3, and that update is not free.

The above is the error I am getting when running any ADR. The error is quite clear software updates are failing to download and Error = 5 being a permissions error its clear that the downloads are failing due to incorrect permissions applied to the download
path.

Also, I do not have a patchdownloader.log anywhere, Ive checked all aforementioned locations from various sources and it just simply does not exist on my SCCM server. Here is my setup:
Server1: Primary server with all roles installed locally except the site database is on its own server. WSUS is installed locally here and DB is stored here.
Server2: SQL DB for Primary site DB
Server3: Secondary remote site running MP, DP, SUP. DB is SQL Express local.
So the SUP role was installed successfully on both server1 first and server 2 second with the site servers accounts. The SUP Synchronizes successfully and I can see a large list of updates available for use but not downloaded of course. I have set WSUS option
to store updates locally and have plenty of space at the target destination.
So here is my issue, I have been working on this issue for the better part of a week and understand the error code from the ruleengine.log to be a permissions issue. I have also proved this out but creating a test ADR with minimal updates and applied NTFS perms
to the target path for Modify with the everyone group (testing purposes only). The updates downloaded successfully. So this puts me right back to where I was, knowing its a permissions issue but not understanding what permissions are needed. Let me explain
further.
The best way to start is to show what perms I have to the target location for downloads/wsus/sup anything:
Path: \\Server1\UpdatesAndDefinitions (permissions being applied to the UpdatesAndDefinitions root folder)
SCCMAdmin (account used for most SCCM tasks except for NA) / Modify / Share and NTFS
Server1$ (primary site server) / Modify / NTFS
Everyone / read and execute / NTFS and Share
There are other system generated perms but the above three are the important ones. So hence my confusion I know that the SCCMAdmin account or the Server its self has to be accessing the target directory so why is it failing with a permissions issue?
My next step was to enable Auditing on the target path. Doing so revealed just what I thought and through me into further frustration:

Now I may not be the best I traversing through the mess of audit entry's and translating them, but from what I can see the two accounts that have the proper share and ntsf perms ive listed above are indeed the ones accessing the target location and the audit
code is success. I filter for failures and found no audits for failures whatsoever yet my downloads still fail religiously, unless of course I open myself up with the everyone group.
So next... I tried adding in the Network Service account with proper permissions, the Local Service Account, my user account, and all no go's.
Next... I remove the SUP roles from SCCM checked the logs for deinstall confirmations, and reinstalled these roles. No Go!
If anyone can assist I would be in your debt and very grateful.
Oh last note, but very important note I'm running SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4

I then changed the share perms for everyone to change and the ntfs to read/execute and poof downloads complete! Obviously change share perms for everyone leaves me open which Id like to prevent, so finding what account is being used is crucial.
I have already tried adding all of the SCCM accounts I use and the servers themselves as change perms to share and ntfs and have not had any luck.

I need to update from 4.3.3 to 6.0.1 so that my apps can take in relevant updates and brun properly. However, update is failing midway on error -5000 and the only way seems to be transferring purchases on ipod to itunes as being suggested by onscreen prompt just when I am undertaking the update. Problem is I can't even do the trabsfer as IPod wouldn't sync properly....error 13014. Has anyone come across this before and resolved it successfully?
