HT1600 i tried to update my apple tv

and now the screen says i need to connect to itunes. apple tv did not come with a cord to connect to my computer. now i don't have an update nor do I have apple tv. And the apple tv is only 1 week old!

the cable is a std micoUsb cable all smartphones apart from apples use them
most supermarket where I live carry then pretty cheap
if it's only 1 week old you could return it I suppose depending on the warrenty laws in the country you live

update your atv via iTunes on your mac/pc using open dns. read also the warning with itunes rentals.

i upgraded my os to the latest lion os on 39th NOV . But unfortunately i had to reinstall the os back ( A big story ) .
so i reinstalled and brought it back to 10.7.1
Now when i try to open iphoto it says i need os > 10.7.2
every other ilife apps are opening .
please help

Something has gone wrong - the AppleTV needs to be restored by connecting to a computer running current iTunes version using a microUSB to USB lead.
AppleTv2 does not require power when doing this.
Select the AppleTv Device on teh left in iTunes and restore to current firmware.

I have same problem, reboot does not work, still iTunes icon after reboot, and after unplug it from wall.
I had a microUSB cable an connected to my mac, succeed to restore it.
But surprise, it did not update to 6.0 but restore the old 5.3 !!!
If i check now for software update it says is up to date!!!
Good work apple, like all things in the last time, no surprise shares are down to 400.
Probably the best one can hope from the next apple tv hardware update will be the box in six colors...

HT4623 tried to update my iphone 3, but after going to settings/ general there is no software update tab.

I have the Weather network app. I did a update on this app. then the app stop working. I removed and installed a couple times. I have just tried to update from apple Iphone link. going to settings / general/ software updates. there was no tab (software updates) I also rebooted the phone- holding sleep and home tell the apple logo apeared.

Updating my Apple ID seems to be bugged

I'm trying to update my Apple ID via the management pages:

When I modify my shipping address, or try to change my home telephone number, the changes just don't seem to get saved.
I click 'Save', and apparently some activity occurs, but my changes are never actually saved.
I've tried it in Firefox 4, 3.6, and Chrome. They all seem to have the same problem, so I figure something else is to blame.
Anyone know how to fix it?

Hello everyone!
This morning I was trying to update my MacBook Pro to the updated version (not sure which one it was) and it took like 13 minutes to update. Unfortunately, when the update finished, a pop up message came up commenting that there was an "error while installing" the updated version. I'm not sure if there's anything bad to my computer because pretty much my macbook pro had never experienced any tragic events before. I assume it was due to the new version that it was updated to.
However, I went to the apple store and they tried fixing the error. They rebooted the computer again after they had disconected a device to my computer but the same screen came up! (It was the apple logo with some weird computer codes I did not understand. They told me that it might be the harddrive and they were not sure if the files could be saved. (I really don't know how to back up my files because they mentioned if I had backed up my files but I dont think I ever played with backing up files so i guess not.) They told me if I had an external drive but I didn't so Im assuming I still have hope on the files that are still on the computer.
Can anyone explain exactly what the problem is? Also, is there any chance that my files cannot be recovered? Should I take an external drive when I go again to the apple store so they can try to save my files?

Not w/o knowing what you updated! Never install anything on your comp unless you know what it is you're installing & what it does.
(I really don't know how to back up my files because they mentioned if I had backed up my files but I dont think I ever played with backing up files so i guess not.)

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

If you dont have none option then you must own itunes some money. So you have to enter the payment like a itunes giftcard. you can contact itunes by email by going to expresslane.apple.com
