HT1600 mirror option is missing on apple TV
Hello everyone, request help when mirror option is missing, only the iPad and apple tv is available. I do have the latest software. Thanks

Clarification: using the Ipad 3 with latest software and Apple TV with the latest software as well.
Also did the double click on home button, scrolled to the right and hit the airplay button and the IPAD and ATV are available, but the mirror option is not there. Even turned the ipad off and on with the same results.
The photos and video does show up on the ATV. The mirror option would be beneficial for viewing other items like notes, safari and other apps on the big screen the same way on the Ipad, since the other apps does not have the airplay button available, only the photos and camera roll has the airplay button.

Mirroring option not showing on iPad with apple tv.
At a school site with just two apple tvs. Air play mirroring is not an option when I sign into my apple tv. Just says the name of the apple tv and does not provide mirroring option. The other apple tv in another classroom will allow me to mirror. Ideas?

I have been able to get Airplay to work with my iPad 3 and 3rd Generation iPad TV, however there is no mirroring option when I hit the airplay icon - hence I can get audio, but no video.
iPad software: iOS 5.1.1
Apple TV software: 5.0.2 (4250)
Any thoughts as to what's going wrong?Are you enabling Airplay mirroring properly?
Double click the Home button, scroll to the leftmost screen and under Airplay look to turn mirroring On.

HT201335 Can't find mirroring option for Apple TV
I am trying to stream xfinity from my laptop to Apple TV. However, I don't see the mirroring option when I click on the Airplay icon in iTunes. I am running Mountain Lion on a MacBook Pro, through a Generation 2 Apple TV, on a Fairpoint 802.11g network. All I see is the choice of Apple TV, or my MacBook pro. The Apple support page suggests I should see a choice for Mirroring, with an on/off toggle. I am trying to stream xfinity from my laptop to Apple TV.

When I created the VPN account, I didn't notice the L2TP option that was selected by default, and It looks like you can't change that setting after an account is created. I deleted the account I had created incorrectly and created a new one - and it worked perfectly the first time.

HT201343 Why isn't the mirroring option showing up for my apple tv?
My mac book pro is an early 2012 model. I recently bought the apple tv, netflix works great, but my computer is not showing the mirroring option, do I need to download anything else in order for the mirroring option to work/show up?
It is your OS, you need OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and you have OS X 10.7 Lion. Get it from the app store.

Just upgraded my iPad to os8.0.2 and I do get the AirPlay mirroring option anymore. AirPlay works fine. My apple tv software has been updated. Very frustrating.

I just bought my macbook pro last March 2012 and I have all the computer requirements for the ability to mirror my computer to my apple tv however I do not have the option on my computer. Why?

Open > About this Mac, and tell me what OS X version you have. You need OS X 10.8 to be able to use AirPlay Mirroring.
If you haven't got Mountain Lion, open the App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. While its installer is being downloaded, make a backup of your data and check that your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
When its download finishes, the Mountain Lion installer will show up, so follow the steps. After upgrading, you will see the AirPlay menu on the menu bar.
If you don't want to upgrade, you can use a third-party app like AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com -
Ipad2 - Apple TV - no mirror option
Apple TV running latest SW version 4.3 (2557) latest update.
iPad2 running SW version 5.0 (9A334)
After updates, restart both Apple TV and iPad2.
From iPad2, double click home button to get to iTunes control, Click on Airplay icon.
Only 2 options are iPad and Apple TV - no mirror option.
I can output media to Apple TV, but can not mirror as this option not visible.
Any ideas?

Yes, I am seeing that the issue is that 4.41 was pulled back and currently, I will need to manually update via micro USB as you explained. Found this...http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4367

Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

my iphone 4s doesnt have the slide option to turn on mirror on apple tv...after ive double clicked the button and scrolled left twice, i see the symbol and click into it but theres no mirror option??
is the latests ios version installed?
if so then are you 100% sure you have an iphone4s because if you have an iphone4 it would be absent because Iphone4 don't support it

Thanks to the $15 Beamer, AirPlay streaming is still possible on Macs that do not support Airplay and mirroring.
Other solutions are the Air Parrot, StreamToMe, and AirServer. -
I've tried everything and can't seem to get it to work. The apple tv icon show up in itunes and I can stream everything to my tv through the apple tv on itunes, but it won't let me mirror my screen like it does with my iphone 4S. Everything I read says that a macbook dated early 2011 or later should work. My macbook is dated late 2011 and the icon for apple tv doesn't show in my menu bar or under system preferences>display. Please any advise would help

Window does not update when I add a tab or switch to another tab
when I add a new tab, the new tab appears but the screen doesn't change. The content under all the tabs is the same. If I type in a url, my current page updates and when I choses another tab, the screen doesn't change. All tabs have the same content.
