my remote is not working with the new imac 27" i do not know even if new imac has infrared at all , pcworld shop said yes it should work . but hey i tried everything including security setting checks

The program vectorworks 2008 (not 2009) does not work with the new operating system Mavericks, which is a disaster because it forces us to change the program, and is very expensive. Apple should fix this problem
Why should Apple fix the problem? Maybe you should consider NOT upgrading if an expensive piece of (obsolete) software you're running won't work with it...

My smart cover is not working with the new iPad
The smart cover for my iPad 2 won't work with the new iPad. I have verified the toggle is enabled in settings. Does anyone have a solution or is experiencing the same issue? Thanks :)

DAP Premium seems not to be compatible with the new version
Dear Old Bob..I enjoyed that! I and thanks so much ...I would have done it if I could have done it but I was blocked by Photoshop at every stage! Thankfully my own IT Guru and friend came to the rescue remotely last night and has down-loaded it. But it took him quite a bit of time.
As XP is faded out, there will be an awful lot of people like me complaining.
But truth is my problems are only at a start! About 30 prints (some not yet on my 'blog' (juliamatcham.wordpress.com) all have varying settings which I have noted. Everything depends on these settings.
All are Apple RGB (although my computer is a PC) and they were all set for my printer Epson Photo 1800. Also they were set at varying settings...Standard or Vivid 1.5, 2.5 whatever suited the design.
These settings appear not to exist on CS2 which is a nightmare for me as each print was carefully proofed with a great deal patience and at some expense as in the end one has to use expensive paper even for proofing.
If you have any hints for how to translate these old settings...I would kiss your feet!
Just looking through how things work, I can't understand why I can't change my first printing option to landscape ...everything esle so far seems comprehensible.
I do hate change!
Meanwhile, thanks so much to Curt, Noel, Nahraka and Old Bob for cheering me on. I am obviously going to be back asking more questions about CS2!

I am not sure if this is a plugin or extension. All I know is that it worked with the old version of Firefox. It is very important to me to be able to use this feature. Any help would be appreciated.
THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED FOR ME.
When I opened this pop-up to view the settings (File > Page Setup > "Format & Options": Scale ), the Scale value was 40%. Changing it to 100% corrected the issue I observed.
To my knowledge, I have not been inside this pop-up window before to set the Scale option. Could this value be affected by other actions within Firefox? I noticed this while using v12 which was installed 24Apr2012.I know it worked correctly since that installation, so why did the Scale value change?
UPDATE: I just realized that the Scale option in print preview sets the Scale value in the settings. NOTE TO ALL: This is a sticky setting, not just a setting for a specific output request. -
My mission control key does not work with the new Mac update

P.S. is anyone else having as much trouble as I am with the new update?The pre-2006 Mac models this forum covers cannot run a Mac OS high enough to have Mission Control. If you can identify your Mac to us we can get you moved to a more active forum.

DVD Studio Pro no longer works with the new iMac. Solutions?
Disc installations in general don't exist anymore and DVD Studio Pro is no longer supported in the new iMac that we have at our office. I used to have Roxio's Toast Titanium as a backup burner, but even that is not supported past mac OS 10.7. Final Cut X has the option to export straight to DVD but the menu options it gives you is so basic it doesn't even look professional. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they are using now to burn a professional looking DVD. Many thanks

I'm considering myself lucky... Though I was unable to install either DVDSP and FCP v.6 on my new iMac, they are both still working on my older iMac even though it too is running ML. I believe this is because I upgraded to ML from Leopard with both already installed.
My only suggestion would be to install Leopard (or the OS on which they were working for you), install FCP, DVDSP and compressor, and then upgrade to ML. Seems like a silly solution but I have a feeling it would work. I'm not doing it because it's working on the iMac that's closest to my DVD duplicator. That said, if I had to, I believe that's what I'd try.
Really infuriates me. My business depends on DVD sales and there really isn't another cost effective DVD authoring solution for the mac out there.
I do wish you the best of luck and would love to hear if you come up with a better solution. -
What bluetooth speaker will work with the new IMAC 27"?
Is Bose better than JamBox? Can someone recommend one? Is the speaker built into the new IMAC 27" good enough without external speaker?
I would expect the Yosemite list to be about the same as what is well-supported today.
This guy (Mac Gizmo guy) has done some research and lists on his site cameras that work with Macs AND are available on amazon.com.
I believe his recommendations are accurate, BUT -- Full Disclosure: gets some payments from amazon for his service. -
I have an HP ProBook 4520s. I have been using HP Protect tool's Password manager to store and manage my passords for all Login websites in Firefox 3.6. As a result, I just swiped my fingerprint to log on to any website.
After I installed the version 4 of Firefox, my all my login details do not work anymore. I have tried to reset them but I repeatedly get this error: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (dpql) isn't associated with any program."
something like this would have been passed onto the address: "dpql://c:\program%20files%20(x86)\hewlett-packard\hp%20protecttools%20security%20manager\bin\dpminionlineids.dll/qlinkload.htm#id=2".
Although the password manager works with Internet Explorer 9, I need it to work with Firefox 4 as this is my preferred browser.
Please help. Thank you!I guess this means that IE is more user friendly for HP Password Manager finger swipe recall of passwords, a favorite of mine. I still don't see a post from Firefox as to why they haven't produced fix. So I'll switch to IE until things change. I don't see value in downgrading to a Firefox version that's no longer going to be supported.

When I try to use the scanner I get error message 'scanner not available' and the scanner indicator goes red . I have contacted Epsom who advised me to run System update on my Mac several times which I havedone to no avail. The scanner is in working order as it works satifactorily with my 'Windows' laptop. The scanner is listed as being included in the driver updates but It would appear that the driver on my iMac supplied in any update is not suitable.
I am currently running OSX 10.8.4
What steps should I now persue to be able to use the scanner?

I would suggest the troubleshooting steps from this article named Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3147
Don't let the name throw you off, the troubleshooting is relevant for scanners as well.
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again. Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.

Ibook is not working with the new ios 5.01 any ideas why?

ThanksRestart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit IBooks and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
Just upgraded to Firefox 6 (which I like, by the way), but when I upgraded to 5, I lost the gaming feature when I installed AVG, and now I've lost the AVG safe search feature, which I think is very important considering that I have grandkids that use my computer,
How about telling us in advance (and I'm running Firefox, so a link would be easy) whether or not we're going to lose an important feature like the one I lost?

DURIM - Okay. I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]? We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro? If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. Album artwork area is completely blank
So as the title says, the area where my artwork is supposed to go, at the top of iTunes is completely blank. I don't mean there's black boxes w/ question marks that I can scroll through, there is a black rectangle where the artwork is supposed to go.

Importing Aperture Library, but more than 2x the number of photos
I'm just switching back to iPhoto after trying Aperture, and just dragged the Aperture library into iPhoto. But its apparently importing 13,826 photos, even though there are only 5031 in the Aperture library. What's going on there?
