how do I migrate shuffle from pc to new pc and save library

Use the Migration Assistant, or move the files manually through file sharing or an external drive. If you've already set the MacBook Pro up and use the Migration Assistant, the files will be put into a different user account.

  • How do I migrate iTunes data to a new PC and introduce a seperate existing account as well?

I recently upgraded our home PC from Windows Vista to Windows 7 (64-bit) and installed a much larger HDD (2TB).  I backed up our entire old hard drive to an external drive.  My wife uses the PC for her iTunes account, back up, etc.  All of her iTunes related data is available on the external drive.  I maintain my iTunes account on a seperate lap top.  We have 5 devices tied to my iTunes account including my iPhone, iPad and our 3 kids' iPhones.  I need assistance with a few areas please:
What files of my wife's are essential to move over from the backed up data?  For example, I don't believe the error reports are required.
Because the new PC has a much larger HDD, I want to begin backing up / syncing my kids' 3 iPhones to our home PC as well.  It takes up quite a bit of data on the laptop.  Same question as above.  What data files of the children should I move over and what can I delete?
I want all devices on the new PC to have access to our music library.  Because it's two seperate iTunes accounts on the same PC (my wife's and mine) I'm not sure how to set that up.  Additonally, I planned to continue syncing my iPhone and iPad on my laptop but because my kids' are under my account and pull their music from my library is that even possible?  The sync will look for the music files but will be unable to locate them.  Right?
    My 'end state' will be:
    Home PC:
Wife's iTunes account, music library, etc. backed up / sync
Kids' 3 iPhones backed up / sync to home PC under my iTunes account
Laptop:My iTunes account backed up / sync my iPhone and iPad
    Thank you in advance!

    Hey HK Sussex,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like you need to setup Wi-Fi syncing with your new computer:
iTunes 10.5 and later: Troubleshooting iTunes Wi-Fi syncing
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4062
    Turn on Wi-Fi syncing
To sync your content to your iOS device through Wi-Fi, you must turn on the option in iTunes:
    1. Connect your iOS device to your computer using the Apple USB cable.
    2. Open iTunes and select your device on the left side of the iTunes window. In iTunes 11, your device will be in the upper-right. You can also find your device by expanding the sidebar from the View menu.
    3. Click the Summary tab.
    4. Scroll to the Options section and select "Sync with this [iOS device] over Wi-Fi."
If you are having issues with your device not being recognized in iTunes when connected via USB, see this article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

    Thanks,

  • Original PC crashed. How do I sync my iPhone to the new PC and save data?

The PC I had my iPhone synced to crashed. No access to backups. Is there a way to sync to the new PC without erasing everything? I have backed up the phone, but in looking at the User Manual, iTunes will erase the backup I have and create a new one the first time I try to sync. Being able to backup from a previous backup will keep me from losing some saved data on some apps I have.

iTunes will not erase an existing iPhone backup. An existing iPhone backup can be deleted manually only. Even if an existing backup was deleted, a new backup would be created to include the existing data on your iPhone that is included with the backup as the first step during the iTunes sync process. Unless you have a backup of your iTunes named folder located in your Music folder that you can transfer from your computer's backup to your new computer, all iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased first the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes on a new or different computer.
Without having access to a recent backup for your iTunes library - the iTunes named folder located in your Music folder, iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only including 3rd party apps.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

How can I migrate data from an old MBA to a new one without having access to the screen of the old one? The screen of the old MBA is damaged !

If your "older" MBA has a Thunderbolt port then it isn't that old. See Target Disk Mode about how it's used. Note that without a monitor you won't be able to tell from the screen when it has fully started, and if it succeeded in starting in TDM. If it did, then the hard drive should appear on the Desktop of your new computer. You can then access it to transfer your files. You can even use Migration Assistant or any backup utility to transfer data. Just don't try to transfer system files.

  • How do I migrate files from MacBook running OS 10.4.11 to new MacBook Pro running OS 10.6? Thanks.

How do I migrate files from my MacBook (specs below) to my still in the box MacBook Pro running OS 10.6?  Yesterday, I ran Software Update; it returned the message that all my software was up to date / no updates available.
I am particularly concerned with moving the 7000+ photos in iPhoto.  I have photos organized into folders and albums and want to preserve this structure.  I use this photo data as part of my lecture content.
    Thanks for your help.

A FW cable would be far faster & Easier, but with Ethernet you need a compatible version of Migration Assistant running on both Macs.

  • How do I migrate apps from an old iphone if I didn't back them up

How do I migrate apps from an old iphone if I didn't back them up?
I created a backup of my iphone 5s just before activating my iphone6.  But I chose not to back up the apps to my computer because at the moment I was thinking of my MBA's hard disk space.  Now that Im restoring the backup to my new phone, I get an itunes message saying 64 apps were not installed on my phone because the apps could not be found.
The phone is still restoring photos.  What can I do to get those apps on my phone without having to re-install them manually?

Ok, I have my old iphone5s and my new iphone6.
I have apps on my iphone5s, i haven't erased anything.
One of those for example is iBank.
I connect the iphone5s to my mac, in iTunes I select the phone, click on Computer backup "This computer" and click on Backup now.  Itunes says its backing it up and finishes.
Now I unplug the iphone5s and plug in the iphone6.
It starts to sync but then gives me an error saying some apps were not installed:
The games I don't care about, but iBank I do, there is also a company erp app.  Those are the only 2 I really need to have back on my new phone.  No matter how many times i backup the old, it just won't find the apps.  Why?

This issue can be caused by the presence of leftover files in the Firefox program folder (defaults\pref) like a file firefox.js that overrides the update URL with a wrong link.
Do a clean reinstall and be sure to remove the Firefox program folder.
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

You don't. Backup your itunes library on the old computer and move it to the new computer.

  • How do i recover music from old computer. its broken and i did not have the music backed up on any other hard drive.

how do i recover music from old computer. its broken and i did not have the music backed up on any other hard drive.

OK, well, seems like you need to lose the attitude if you really want help.
There are several ways to get music from iTunes on your computer to your device.
The easiest is to sync directly with iTunes by connecting your device to your computer, selecting the device, setting up your Profile pages, and then clicking the Sync button to sync.
First you want to open iTunes and under Preferences>Devices, make sure that you are not syncing automatically:
Make sure that box is checked.
Then follow the instructions in the article below for either your computer or your Mac to set up your Profile pages and to sync your music via iTunes:
    WINDOWS IOS SYNC ITUNES 11
iTunes 11 for Mac: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
You can also directly download music from iTunes to your device by going to the iTunes icon, going to "Purchased", and selecting the items that are not on your device that show a little cloud next to them. Click on the cloud and the music will download.
You might also want to familiarize yourself with your iPhone 5 manual. It has all the answers you cannot find on Google or by trying to just do it by brute force. If you would take a little time to read about your device and how to use it, you might not be so frustruated and unnecessarily snarky to people who are trying to help:

I have migrated from London to New Delhi and i am facing some problem with my iPhone 4s and i am not able to setup a repair .My phone is in under warranty too. Can anyone tell whats the matter?

The warranty is NOT international. You must take it back to the country of origin if it needs repair. The E.U. is considered a single country for warranty purposes.

Check and make sure the repeat indicator isn't set to repeat the same song.  It will have a little number 1 inside a circle on it if it is. Just keep hitting it until it goes white.  It will cycle through repeat all, repeat 1, and repeat none.
