HT1657 Are rented or purchased movies available in 3D?

I've been meaning to rent or purchase the movie "the hobbit". I've heard that it's out and available on 3-D. I was wondering if this is possible on Apple TV. All it it says on iTunes is that you can get it on 1080p resolution. It says nothing about 3-D capability.

The iTunes Store does not offer 3D movies.

Welcome to the Apple Community Tarskforce.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

HT202157 Can't see rented or purchased movies after the AppleTV update. Help?Hi

We updated our AppleTV a couple of days ago and we tried to rent a movie last night but failed. I am able to go into the Movies section, find the movie I want, even see the preview in perfect condition. The problem arises when I want to rent. I get a window that asks me to: rent and see now, rent and see later or cancel. I select "Rent and See Now", it moves to a "Loading" page and then pops back to the movie page without having rented it. I tried it with several movies and it didn't work. I also tried it with my purchased movies and I get the same exact error when I try to play them.
All other features on my AppleTV seem to work fine, YouTube, iTunes Festival, for example. I have tried disconnecting my iTunes account and connecting it again but that didn't work. Tried rebooting the AppleTV as well but that didn't help.
How can I get it back to working?

I have been having the exact same problem, and I am outside of the United States but my iTunes account is from the United States.
I have never had problems streaming purchased movies, shows, or music before.
Now I can see all that has been purchased and even select them. However, when a movie or show is played, it shows the spinning wheel for a couple seconds and reverts back to the movie/show details screen. When music is attempted to be played, a "content not found" error occurs when a song is selected.
Interestingly, movie previews can still be watched just fine.
Also, if I restore or reset the Apple TV I can immediately watch one move or show video, but the second time this is attempted it reverts back to the original error.
This means that I have to spend 4 minutes resetting the Apple TV just to watch something.
Apple support was not able to resolve this.
Netflix and other apps work just fine.
This also just happened a couple days ago after I updatet my Apple TV

Go to your music library on itunes, click on the box in the top-left corner of your window that says Music, once you do this there will be an option to click on movies, click on it, and then there will be a little bubble near the top of your window that says rented, click on the bubble, and that will take you to your rented library.
Note: For itunes 11.0.1 and up.

If you delete a movie rental, you'll have to pay to rent it again—unless, of course, you rented the movie on your Mac or PC using iTunes and synced it over to your iPad. To delete a movie rental:
Tap the Videos app.
Tap Edit.
Tap the "x" on the movie rental you want to delete.

Again, you must have a valid credit card drawn on a Mexican bank with a local address in Mexico to be able to purchase items from the Mexican iTunes Store.

Rented or Purchased, Movies & TV Shows Keep Disappearing

I'm using an AppleTV 3 and in the last couple of weeks whenever I purchased a movie or TV show, after it has been watched, it disappears. It's not on my AppleTV, my iMac, my iPads or iPhone, it's gone like I never made the purchase. The only place the purchased shows up is in my iTunes Store account under recent purchases. The same thing happens with rentals. Once I've watched the show it's gone, not in 24 hours but immediately, without a trace. Also, if I stop (not pause) the rental it will disappear. Apple has been good enough to credit me for these purchases or rentals but this is ridiculous. When I asked iTunes for support they said it was an AppleTV problem, not there's. I don't think so because it affects all my devices. Nevertheless, I figured I'd post here for advice.

Can I change from HD to SD? I did not mean to start an HD movie. I cannot download HD fast enough.

Just create 2 different playlists like
Movie-ATV
Movie-iPod
Put those video files with higher resolution on playlist Movie-ATV
Put those video files with lower resolution on playlist Movie-iPod
in iTunes Preferences choose your ATV only to sync the 1st movie playlist - and your iPod only to sync the 2nd one.

I know I can move purchased music from my desktop to my authorized laptop, but what about movies? I'd like to manage all of my media on my desktop, but use my laptop to view a rented or purchased movie from iTunes. Is this possible?

Purchased movies can be moved in the same way as songs. This can also be done with rented movies, but they can only be played from one location at a time, and once the rental is over, none of your copies of it will be playable.

Are there fewer movies for rent, pushing purchasing?

Why are there fewer movies for rent via itunes on my AppleTV? Movies that are available for rent thru other services (windows, amazon, etc) are only available for sale in itunes. I am using a Dell inspiron 14z, with Windows 8, and before that a Dell with Windows XP. This is also happening on my iPad. For the last four months, none of the movies or television shows I have rented or purchased from iTunes have played properly. The audio and video are out of sync. I have tried the troubleshooting measures iTunes suggested, however nothing seems to work. I have read on the community that this has been a problem for users in the past, and have attempted to try some of the fixes individual users have suggested also. Again, nothing seems to work. At this point I am frustrated, as we purchase or rent almost exclusively from iTunes. I would appreciate a support-staff person response. Thank you so much.

this problem has been going on for windows users for over a year now.
Apple has no solution to this problem.
