HT1657 Error when playing rented movie. Now expired.

After renting and playing a movie for only seconds, I get the following mesage "An unknown error occurred. please try again later". Now my rental has expired. Can I get credit for it?

Can i play rented movies on my ipad being offline?

The answer appears to be "maybe". Once the rental has completely downloaded it shouldn't need an Internet connection from then on, but I've seen reports here from people who tried the play the rental and has it insist on an Internet connection. I've never been able to spot any common factor between such reports to form an opinion as to why this happens, though it's possible that the movie hadn't really completely downloaded. But I'd advise not presuming that an Internet connection won't be necessary.
Someone else here may have better insight into the issue.

Clicking noise when playing rented movie on apple tv

I am having trouble with my apple tv making a clicking noise when playing a rented movie from the iTunes store. Any suggestions?

I get noise, krackering/clicking noise in left channel on rented movies, music/movies played through iTunes. NOT on Netflix. Only Apple content.
Connected to a Samsung TV via HDMI.
Very anoying.
Any ideas?

No aduio when renting movies on Apple TV 2 gen, Previews have sound but once purchased (rented) no sound. I have Sony WEGA 3LCD about 6 years old.

The limitation of approximately 200 titles has been discussed before, we can't be sure whether it will be something that gets fixed or not. I'm not really sure what your other issues are, if I use search instead of lists, I find whatever I want and am able to rent or purchase subject to those options being available for that particular title.

Apple tv freezes when playing rented movies

This is a new issue for me. Every time I rented a movie from the Apple TV(3Gn) the movie doesn't download or freezes. Sometimes the Apple TV restart by itself. Also when I play movie trailers, sometimes it doesn't download the trailer completely. I ran a speedtest and the downloads are above 20Gbps. By the other hand, Nexflix runs excellent without any problems at all. Please I need help to fix this situation. Thanks!

That may indicate interference. Netflix adapts to the connection whereas iTunes content is fixed. First try rebooting ATV and router. Make sure DNS is set to automatic (settings - general - network).
If on wifi try ethernet. Go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report, look for signal strength and noise.

Error when playing my movie on a HTML file

I have a very strange problem.
When I test my movie inside Director, it works perfectly, but
when I export it and test in a browser, then if gives an error.
In particular, this is line which gives error only in the
browser:
if (netDone(grupos[cs]) = TRUE) and (netError(grupos[cs]) =

However, with this line it does work:
if (netDone(grupos) = TRUE) and (netError(grupos) = "OK")
then
when gruops[cs] is a list, it fails, otherwise it works. How
can it be? What is the problem?

What exactly is the error message?
Are you sure cs is defined, and exists in the list?
Is the value of cs what you think it is?

The movie I rented plays for 1 minute and then stops with a message saying it couldn't download, but I can't re-download it either, what do i do?

As long as it has been fully downloaded then you should be able to watch it whilst offline

I got this error message when I tried to play rented movies after downloading.
"We could be complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-42110). There was an error in iTunes Store. Please try again later."
Anyone has similar experience?

What happens when you rent movies and they don't play and you tried getting credit for it? I rented two movies which they were very very old movies in black & white and they both don't play. I never had this problem before even when downloading videos. Now how can I get credit for it? I contact itunes a number of times and no one has done nothing as of yet. Itunes also asked me for my order number which I sent them but still no credit.

I just started have this same/simmilar issue to. Was there a solution to the original question? I have 2 ATVs. One works without issue, the other... kicks me out repeatedly... to the point where the content will load for about 3 sec before kicking me all the way out. Tried all the trouble shooting options including: checking latest software update, reset, hard restart, and checking router download speed (over 50 Mbps on speedtest.net). Should mention this occurs most frequently when downloading Netflix content, but the same issue occurs downloading other content like PBS.

The Apple TV reports its SW is up to date. I've tried this with two movies rented frim iTunes directly from the Apple TV.

If after you download the movie, you navigate away and do something else with your Apple TV the content you have downloaded will be overwritten and you'll need to download it again. It's a pain in the neck for many who have slow downloads but it's something that comes with using volatile memory rather than a hard drive for storage.
Perhaps you're not doing this, but I thought it worth mentioning.
