HT1657 I rented a movie on my I phone 5 but want to watch on I pad 2...

I rented a movie on my I phone 5 but want to watch on I pad 2...How can I ? If I can not I will only rent through Amazon.

I don't think that Apple have said why it's liked that, but from the page that you posted from :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
If you had downloaded it on your computer you would have been able to move it between your computer and devices

  • Rented a Movie in iTunes on iMac, but want to watch it with AppleTV

I rented a movie in iTunes on my iMac. But now, I would like to watch this movie with my AppleTV (newest generation).
Following http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 this should be possible:
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). But what are the steps to get in running on my AppleTV?
    Thanks for any advice,
    Adrian

Sorry, what I was attempting to clarify was this:
You can rent the movie on your desktop but in order to watch it on your ATV you will have to turn on Home Sharing and download the movie to your desktop, only then will the rented movie appear on your ATV under Home Sharing.
Either this is a flaw in the software or part of a copyright arrangement. If you purchase a movie, then it will appear under Movies > Purchased on the ATV, for some reason rentals do not. If this is software related then it should be fixed at some point. Although the original thread is from over a year ago, the problem persists. Renting on the ATV directly is not optimal since the file is not transferable to any other device, presumably b/c there is no file? But that shouldn't matter. All that should matter is: this Apple ID purchased this item > it should be available on all devices associated w/that Apple ID.

  • I just rented a movie on my ipad, and now want to watch it on my Apple Tv

I just rented a movie on my iPad (which does not have sufficient space to download the movie) with hopes of being able to watch it on my Apple Tv when I got home. However, when i got home, the Apple TV is says that i need to re-rent it. If i 'purchased' (rented) the movie on my iPad, shouldn't it be in my iCloud, so that I can watch it on any device?

A movie purchased on an iPad can only be viewed on an iPad. You would need to rent via computer and use home sharing or directly on Apple TV if you wish to view on your HDTV.
You haven't purchased the movie, it's a rental and thus won't be available in the cloud.
• HT1657 I rented the Movie The Master and never started to watch it till 2 days later and it was gone. Is there a way to get it back?

I rented the movie the master and waited 2 days to watch it and it wasn't available to play?

Assuming that you didn't start to play it at all, in which case it would have expired in 24 hours in the US/48 hours elsewhere after you started viewing, go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

  • HT1657 After I rent the movie, Can I download it, so I can watch it without internet?

After I rent the movie, Can I download it, so I can watch it without internet?

All movies from the iTunes Store, rental and purchased, download completely to your computer or iOS device, and once the movie has completely downloaded can be watched without needing a network connection.
    Regards.

  • I rented the movie "One for the Money" but it isn't on my computer, what should I do?

I rented the movie "One for the Money" but it's not in my iTunes. iTunes said that I downloaded the movie but it's not on my computer. what should I do? i also rented the movie "The Vow" but it keeps telling me there was an error in the download, but it won't specify what's wrong so that I can fix it.

    What is the code?
Did you edit the code several times while working on the form?

My apple tv main menu no longer displays the "movies" section, just internet, computers, and settings. Does anyone know why or how to get it to show again? Recently rented a movie directly through apple tv but can't see the "movies" section in main menu now. WiFi and home sharing are working.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check the location setting for the iTunes Store is correct.
You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router.
If you are still having problems try a restore.

  • I rented a movie on my apple computer but it won't play on my apple tv.  i have never had a problem until a month ago.  Home sharing is on, and internet is fine.

I rented a movie on my apple computer but it wont play on my apple tv.  never had problems till 1 month ago.  internet fine, home sharing on.

The movie must fully download to iTunes.
If you have an AppleTV1, have you downloaded a 1080p movie rental as it can't handle that, in which case alter your Preferences for downloads to 720p, contact iTunes Store support and see if they can re-enable the download or refund so you can rent again at 720p.
If you have black model ATV2 or ATV3, then I assume you are looking under the Computers icon where a new Rentals row appears in order to play rentals downloaded to iTunes.
