I rented a movie today and accidentally deleted it, how do I get it back without paying again?

As far as I know rentals are one-off downlaods, but you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Express Lane, then iTunes > iTunes Store

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • HT204088 I have reset mt iPad3 and lost my iBooks, books it keeps coming up with error how can I get them back without paying again

    Help anyone please

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic book (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iBook store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iBook store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iBook store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen after you tap the store button in the top corner of the iBook app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • Just downloaded Maverick and lost the apps I purchased - Notes and Bejeweled 3.  How do I get them back without repurchasing?

I just dowloaded Maverick and lost the Apps I purchased:  Notes and Bejeweled 3.  How do I get them back without paying for them again?

Thanks so much for being out there for me - someone I can talk to.  I went to purchases and unfortunately it is no longer there. I dowloaded the Notes App again for free.  I will just buy Bejeweled again.    I guess the price of downloading maverick was losing my beloved video game.  But you have put my mind at ease - I appreciate knowing I did all I could do to recover it.

I had 21 songs i my album and after syncronising i only had 15 songs left! All of them from Itunes! How can i get them back without paying for them again???
    Hello!!!
I had 21 songs i my album and after syncronising i only had 15 songs left! All of them from Itunes! How can i get them back without paying for them again???
    Hello!!!
    This realy works??

Where is the backup of the media and other important files from the computer?  Ultimately, it is the users responsibility to ensure that backups exists. Waiting until there is a problem to decide to do a backup is not smart.  Would you wait until a fire started in your home to call the insurance company and inquire about homeowners/renters insurance????
In the event that no backup exists (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files):
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content.  They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes.  On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer.  Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this.

i accidentally deleted iMovies, how do i get it back?
i went to app store to get it but it says to accept but when i accept it says it that it was already accepted, my mac book is still under warranty.

You'd need to do a full install of the OS, not an update. You can use recovery (Command + R keys) during boot up or restart. Your files will not be deleted (unless you choose to erase your drive) - but make sure you have a backup anyway. General info here:

  • I-cloud in my i-pad settings was accidentally deleted. How can I get this back?

Usually I-cloud is in the settings folder under mail, contacts, etc. It isn't there and I'm not sure where it went to or when.  Is there a way for me to get it back without having to buy it?

iCloud is free. If your iPad is running iOS 5, there will be an iCloud item in the main Settings list. Click that and you should be able to set the iCloud account up again.

  • Accidentally Deleted iCal, How do I get it back?

Hello, I am a recent convert to the mac universe, so I'm still a little new to all of the functionality . I was trying to change the icon for my iCal, and as one thing led to another, I managed to delete the program. Before I knew what I was doing, it was gone from my trash can, and now I can't seem to get it back. I tried to see if I could get a new download of the application from the apple website, but my mac says that the application can run on my computer's architecture. So, I'm thinking I messed up something bad, because now I can't install the program. Does anyone have any idea what I did wrong here, and how I can undo it? I don't have my timemachine set up yet either, so that option is out. Thank you for any help you can provide me.

My suggestion is to be happy. iCal with Leopard is a bust. Highly touted, not working. Not syncing. Publishing to the web? Fine, if you don't mind the events being off by 1, 2, 3, or whatever hours (making the published calendar untrustworthy). Moreover, Apple doesn't seem to care.

  • I accidentally deleted iMovie, how do I get it back?

    please help!

If you actually moved iMovie to the trash and emptied it, you'll need to find your iLife install discs (or, if iMovie came with your computer, the system restore discs that came with your computer). You can use those to reinstall it. If you're using the system restore discs, there should be an "install optional software" or "install bundled software only" or other icon OTHER than "install Mac OSX" that you should use.
There's a free program called Pacifist that can help extract files from installer packages.
If you didn't move iMovie to the trash and empty it, however, then you can simply open your Applications folder and drag it back to the dock; iMovie will still be in there, don't worry.

  • I accidentally deleted iMovie, how do I get it back? I don't know where to find the recover discs everybody is talking about.

I really can't find/ figure out where the discs that people recomended- please help.

If it came with Lion or later pre-installed, then re-download it from your App Store purchases. If your computer came with Snow Leopard or earlier then it is on one of the original discs that came with the computer. If you don't have them you can purchase replacements from Apple:

  • I preordered Memphis May fires new album awhile ago and there is no option to download it but to purchase it again and there's no money in my card how can I get my preorder without paying again for it ? I need help

    Help

Have you paid for the pre-order - you are only charged for pre-orders when they become available and you download them, you aren't charged at the time of pre-ordering them. Does it show on your account's purchase history : if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases (the most recent purchase is above the list).
If you haven't yet paid then you will need a balance or a credit card on your account so that you can pay for it before you will be able to download it.
If you have paid for it then does the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option on your computer's iTunes find and download it, and/or does it show in the Purchased link in the iTunes store app on your phone and the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes ?
