If you moved them to your iPad then they will have been removed from your Mac.  If they are no longer in the iPad's Videos app following the update then you will need to try contacting iTunes support and see if they will let you re-download them : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • I rented a movie on my ipad and cannot locate it?

I rented a movie on my ipad and it just shows up as a gray box in my movies section. When I click on the greyed out box, it gives me the option to play the movie but when I press play, it just reverts back to the gray box. How do I find the move or have it complete the download?

  • HT1657 I rented a movie on my iPad 2 abd it wouldn't work.

I rented a movie on my iPad 2 and it worked great on the first night (I only watched the first half and saved the rest for today), however when I went back to it to watch the rest I could not view it as the play button turned into a frozen stop button, completely unresponsive. The movie was clearly marked "1 day remaining".
By the time someone responds to this post the rental may ave expired but dies anyone have any suggestions for if this happens again in the future?
    Thank you

Rented movies can be watched only on the device that they were downloaded to.
Exception - if a rented movie is downloaded to a computer, it can be transferred to one IOS device.

  • I just rented a movie on my ipad, and now want to watch it on my Apple Tv

I just rented a movie on my iPad (which does not have sufficient space to download the movie) with hopes of being able to watch it on my Apple Tv when I got home. However, when i got home, the Apple TV is says that i need to re-rent it. If i 'purchased' (rented) the movie on my iPad, shouldn't it be in my iCloud, so that I can watch it on any device?

A movie purchased on an iPad can only be viewed on an iPad. You would need to rent via computer and use home sharing or directly on Apple TV if you wish to view on your HDTV.
You haven't purchased the movie, it's a rental and thus won't be available in the cloud.
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

  • I purchased movies on my ipad and then when I synced to my computer they ended up in itunes but are now off the the ipad.  How do I get them back onto the ipad.  Thx!

I purchased tv shows and ibooks on my ipad and then when I synced with my computer they all ended up on my computer in itunes.  They aren't on my ipad anymore.  How do I put some of them back on my ipad.  Also, I tried to make another purchase on my ipad but it said I didn't have enough room.  I just updated my software and before I synced I had a bunch of shows on the pad.  I don't understand why it's saying I don't have room especially since it took all my shows off.  Thanks!!!

If the shows are in fact still on the pad, they will be found in the videos app, not the music or I tunes app.  Look there and see if they are still there.
If you don't see them there, go to the searchlight screen ( farthest left home page) and type in the name of one of the shows.  If it is on the pad, hiding somewhere, this will find it.
If they are not there, they should not be using up space.
To get them back onto your pad, plug in and sync again.  Make sure you transfer purchases first.   Before you sync, take a look at the video tab in your I tunes, and check what you want and don't want synced.

  • HT1657 I rented the movie with Ipad taking too long to download so want to download to desktop instead and I cant find it on my purchases where is the rented movie

I have an Ipad tried to rent a movie was taking forever to download over an hour and didnt even load a 1/3 of the movie so i stopped it tried to hook up to my itunes and download that way but my account doesnt show the movie says its already been download

You cannot. It is not like a purchase.  You cannot redownload at all.

  • I rented a movie with my ipad but don't have enough space to download, what do i do?

I rented an iTunes movie using my iPad but I didn't have enough space to download it.  I thought I'd be able to jump over to my MacBook and do it instead but the movie doesn't show up in the "purchased" area.  What can I do?

Delete something from the ipad so that you have room.

  • HT4095 Rented a movie on my iPad and it doesn't open.  Why.?

Rented a movie it downloaded fine, but I get an error message that it can't open the movie. Any idea why?

In order to download the movie, you want to just connect the ipad to the internet, preferably wifi if you have it available. Check your settings by going to settings > wifi.

  • HT1657 I rented a movie with not enough space on my phone so I deleted done stuff and it downloaded but the I tried to play the movie and it just closes

Someone please help. The title says it all

    Hey there jas66jas,
It sounds like your Video app is quitting when you try to watch a rental you downloaded. I recommend closing all the running apps on the phone first:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling
