HT1657 I rented a movie with not enough space on my phone so I deleted done stuff and it downloaded but the I tried to play the movie and it just closes

Someone please help. The title says it all

Hey there jas66jas,
It sounds like your Video app is quitting when you try to watch a rental you downloaded. I recommend closing all the running apps on the phone first:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

  • Time Machine does not recognize my iMac backup. Reports: not enough space; can't back up. How do I get it to recognize the backup?

    Time Machine does not recognize my 430 GB iMac backup on 1 terabyte Time Capsule. Reports: not enough space; can’t back up. How do I get it to recognize the old backup and continue backups?

    Thanks for the Time Machine Troubleshooting link. Apparently things have changed since 10.7.0. Backups.backupdb doesn’t exist. Path now is: Time Capsule/Data/Daru’s iMac.sparsebundle. So I did Terminal (I usually avoid Terminal) using the instruction in B6. It does not appear to be working. It went through looking for backup, preparing backup, and is now stopping backup, and the TMBackup has disappeared from the sidebar.
    Well, just now Time Machine progressed to preparing backup again; the Tiime Machine Backups appeared in sidebar, and with it Backups.backupdb/Daru’s iMac/2012-04-21-112939.inProgress. So it does exist... I’ll let it run, see what happens... But that is a strange date. Today is 28.
    I’ll let you know the outcome.
    Oops. Just ended! Real time report: “Backup too large for disk...“ So it is not recognizing the old backup. I’ll look at those instructions again, see if I can do the Terminal thing with the backup running. I doubt I can damage anything except the existing baackup which I'll lose anywy if I can’t achieve recognition.

    Hello Jesslb23,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    For more information on this, take a look at:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
    To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps first
    Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
    Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you have registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you have selected iMessage for use. Learn more about troubleshooting iMessage registration if the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use.
    Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. Learn more about troubleshootingcellular data or a Wi-Fi connection if a data connection isn't available.
    iMessage over cellular data might not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while on a call if your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls.
    Restart your device.
    Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
    If you are still unable to send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
    Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
    Verify that the contact you are attempting to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
    If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact in the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
    Back up and restore your device as new.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • Installation fails with "not enough space" message ...

    Installing Application Server 8.1 on Solaris Sparc on network with lots of space but get this message in the log file of the failed installation:
    ERROR - exception while updating command line utilities
    Not enough space
    ERROR - default domain creation returned following exception: /home/lm71165/SUNWappserver/bin/asadmin: not found
    INFO - End core server configuration.
    Any ideas on why this occurs?
    Thanks.

    "Not enough space" message is issued by J2SE due to lack of swap space and not disk space per se in this case.
    To resolve this, first uninstall partial installation using provided uninstall utility (available in installation directory). Then, make sure that you free some additional swap space: delete all unnecessary content from /tmp partition and shut down all unnecessary processes running on the system. Once you do this, you can restart the installation.

  • HT4623 i have not enough space on my phone for the update where do i go to recieve the update to iphone

    i do not have enough space on iphone 4 to update 7.1 however can i do it online or on computer

    Plug it into your computer and do the update with iTunes. The space requirement does not apply when doing a wired update.

  • Not enough space on my phone to restore backup?

    I recently did a factory reset and tried to restore from backup but it says there isn't enough space on my iphone to backup...but i just backed it up before i reset it...how does that even work? help please

    I had the same problem and was able to resolve it.
    Please note that I was pretty much at capacity before trying to upgrade to the latest software. I assume the new software update was larger than the previous version which caused the error trying to restore all the data from before but not having enough room now.
    On the iphone, go to Settings > General > Reset
    select "Erase all Content and Settings"
    Connect to iTunes > you'll see "Welcome to Your New iPhone" page.
    Select the "Restore from this backup:" and the restore commences.
    After the restore, the phone will reboot and return to the "Welcome to Your New iPhone" page. Be patient. It will take a moment. Select the "Setup as New Phone" - your iPhone will sync all apps and music.
    All Apps and data were restored successfully!  (Took awhile though)
    Good luck

  • HT2729 Can I choose to only sync some of my playlists to my iphone instead of the entire library?  Not enough space on my phone for all my music. If so, how?

    My iphone cannot fit all the music in my library, whereas my ipod easily does.  Is there a way to pick and choose only SOME of the music without syncing the entire library?

    Go to the Music Tab in iTunes and select what you want to sync.  You can select playlists, albums, artists, or individual songs.

  • Kstat_lookup() failing: "Not enough space"

    Hi,
    I have a peculiar problem. I'm looking up CPU statistics using kstat(), and I'm getting a failure in kstat_lookup() on some machines.
    Here is the relevant code:
    kstat_ctl_t* pKstatCtl;
    kstat_t* pCpuStats;
    if ((pKstatCtl = kstat_open()) == NULL)
    // Handle error...
    if ((pCpuStats = kstat_lookup(pKstatCtl, NULL, -1, "cpu_stat0")) == NULL)
    // Handle error...
    ... // kstat_read(), etc.
    I am compiling this program on Solaris 2.6, and it works fine on every 2.6 machine I've used. It is interesting to note that, when I run "truss" on the program and watch the results of iostat(KSTAT_IOC_READ), it returns a number in the range of 600-800. I think this is the number of bytes read.
    When I run this program on a Solaris 2.8 machine (without recompiling it there, for reasons which are too complicated to explain here), it works most of the time. However, one of these 2.8 machines is having problems. The kstat_lookup() call fails, and strerror(errno) returns "Not enough space". Note that it's not the kstat_read() that's out of space, it's kstat_lookup(). I tried running the program on another 2.8 machine in the same cluster, and it worked. However, truss told me that ioctl(KSTAT_IOC_READ) was returning 264752.
    What's going on here? Why is kstat_lookup() failing with "Not enough space"? Why does this work on one machine and not another?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Jason - the discs may be advertised as having 4.7GB of space, but in fact this is a bit of an urban legend - it all depends on how you count the bits, in groups of 1000 or in groups of 1024. Disc manufacturers like to count in 1000's, which gives a larger capacity, whereas your computer will count in groups of 1024...
    If you allow 4.37GB per disc, you'll be much nearer the mark.

  • I am trying, unsuccessfully, to export an iphoto smart album- 12,000 photos, no movies- (information is saying 31GB) to a brand new 32GB scandisk flash stick. A caution msg keeps saying "there is not enough space to complete this" Help!

    I am trying, unsuccessfully, to export an iphoto smart album- 12,000 photos, no movies- (information is showing 31GB total) to a brand new 32GB scandisk flash stick. A caution msg keeps saying "there is not enough space to complete this" Help!

    You need a larger drive or an external drive - they OS needs a minimum of 10GB just for normal operation so you are already experiancing degraded preformance - if yo do not get more space you will start losing data
    Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
    And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
    And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

    Might be primitive, but free, and does the job.
    the truth is you're right. Sometimes we search any solutions but this is some complicated when the best fix normally, It´s easy solution... "Okam's razor"

  • Can't build packages not enough space [Solved]

    I'm trying to compile latest -ck kernel but after it gets built I get an error saying: there is not enough space to build package.
    I remember that last time I was compiling the kernel, I've set-up so that /tmp is loaded in memory or something like that..
    And now when I try to compile the kernel, even though I choose menuconfig I still don't get in ti, to turn it off or even check what it was.
    My /tmp just have 1,3GB free space left, so that could be it, but I doubt it...

    That's what happens, but I think it is problem with root, as when this happens there's only 9,7MB free space left.
    I guess I have either remove unneeded packages or make root bigger...

  • False error message: there is not enough space on your .mac idisk...

    I had four sites. I deleted one site and removed a ilnk to it from a remaining site. Now I get repeated errors publishing: "There is not enough space on your .mac idisk to publish your site" and urging me to buy more space. This message is incorrect as I have plenty of space left and anyway I want to remove things, not add. Please help me get published.
    thanks

    Have you tried asking this question over in the .Mac forums? Or even better, have you sent an Email to the .Mac support people?
    I've not experienced your issue with iWeb, so I can't really help out, however, I have seen the discussion about this problem several times in the discussions. You may want to try doing a search, if you haven't already, for this problem in the discussions and see if there is a fix.

  • Not enough space when download oracle

    I am the beginner of Linux, and I am try to download Oracle 9i to /usr/oracle directory, but it says I don't have enough space to contain the files. I am confused because I have a partition with size of 8G for the /usr directory. How come I don't have engouh space for the oracle files, which are less than 2G. Anyone could help me?
    Thanks!!!

    Simply do
    #df
    And you will see report about "filesystem disk usage"
    To the right you will see "Mounted On" - that is the column with points which you should create before(with names), there you will find a point where you wont to copy information - "/usr", after check other columns. For example Available .... if there is not enough space better to reinstall system, or use disk druid. Better to do the first.

  • Not enough space on disk error when I have enough space on disk

    I'm trying to export a video to my external hard drive, which has plent of space.  About halfway through the export, Premiere gives me a "not enough space on disk" error.  My startup drive is getting pretty full, but still has a bit of memory and I'm not sure why I would need space there if the render is going the external.
    Thanks for any help!

    Macs can read NTFS volumes.
    Maybe, but they can't write to them out of the box.  And since external drives generally come empty, it's a pretty safe bet that the purchaser will want to write files to it.  So, a lot of drive makers format as FAT32.
    exFAT is a better file system than FAT32, especially for solid state media like P2 and SD cards.  Using exFAT on those cards would allow large files (long continuous shots) and keep compatibility with Macs.  Now, if only camera makers would issue firmware updates to allows exFAT formatted media...
