No. Once downloaded to an iOS device it cannot be transferred to another iOS device or computer, & can only be watched on that iOS device.

  • HT1577 Why am I experiencing long download times for an HD movie rental from itunes?

I have been experiencing long download times for movie rentals from itunes (this time 11 hours).  I have even tried to use ethernet, turn off simultaneous downloads, and shut down my browser, to speed up the time but that didn't help.  My internet download speed is about 7mbps.  Any suggestions?

iTunes: Purchasing and viewing HD videos
When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Conversely, if you purchase an HD video on an unsupported device, the SD version will be downloaded. Then, you will need to download the HD version from your Purchased page. • Movie rentals in iTunes for PC and iPad.

Can I view movie rentals in iTunes through bought PC and iPad2?  Currently have rented a movie on PC thinking I would be able to pull it up on the iPad but I don't see it in iTunes.

After transferring the rental to the iPad - The movie will show up in the videos app on the iPad - not in iTunes.
You have to "move" the rental to the iPad from iTunes. You do this while connected to the computer and with iTunes running just like you do when you sync. But you have to select "move" instead of just simply syncing the rental to the iPad.
    Copied from this web site
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1390
Connect the device and select it in iTunes.
    Click the Movies button.
Select the movie, and then click Move.
After all movies have been moved, click Apply in the lower-right corner of iTunes.
You must be connected to the Internet to transfer a rented movie.

  • When you download from your IPAD a movie rental from ITUNES-where do you go to find it?

When you download a movie rental from the ITUNES app. on my IPAD-how do you find the movie rental to be able to watch?not under video,purchases,movies-?

If you don't find it in the Videos App look in the iPod App as well. If you still can't find it, from your home screen, swipe to the right to bring up the Spotlight search feature. Type in the name of the movie. If the movie appears - tap it and it should begin to play.

  • Movie rental on itunes and problem to see it on the Apple TV

    Hi,
I rented a movie on itunes and I could not look on the Apple TV.
I had to watch it on the ipad.
the control AppleTV airplay on the ipad is good, but nothing launches on the Apple TV
    Thanks for your Help
    Rixo

If you downloaded the rental to iTunes, it will appear on AppleTV to play  under Computers icon - a new Rentals section appears.
    The movie must download completetly.
As a rental item can only be played on one device if you moved it to iPad you'd have to move it back to iTunes to see on AppleTV.

  • Trying to update iPad getting message ... You should transfer movie rentals to iTunes library before updating this iPad.

How do I transfer movie rentals from iPad to iTunes library to update to 5?  I get a warning message to move them but not sure how?

    Same thing here.
    Windows 7 64 Pro - iTunes 64 bit version 10.6.3.25.
Trying to upgrade iPhone 4 to 5.1.1 (from 5.1 (9B176)).
File -> Transfer Purchases from "My iPhone" - succeeds.
Right-click My iPhone -> Transfer Purchases - succeeds.
Try to update - still get the error message: "There are purchased items on the iPhone "My iPhone" that have not been transferred to your iTunes library.  You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPhone.  Are you sure you wannt to continue?"
Power cycled phone - made no differenced.  Ejected, reconnected,..no difference.
    Very frustrating.  Any ideas?

  • HT1657 Movie rental downloaded but nowhere to be found

I downloaded a movie rental but it does not appear in my downloads or library.
The movie in itunes store says it has been downloaded.
    Where is it??

    Click on LIBRARY on the top right;
    Select MOVIES from the drop down menu on the top left;
Click on RENTED on the top center.
It took me about an hour to find that out.
They should have a link from the iTunes Store, or explain what to do after we pay for the rental.

  • Problems downloading and watching first movie rental from iTunes

I wanted to try renting a movie through iTunes tonight and it has been constant problems on my Windows 7 64-but PC home theater PC with iTunes 10.5.  I was going to rent it through Amazon Video on Demand, but they didn't offer the movie in HD on a PC (I would need a Ruku box, Tivo or Blu Ray player to get Amazon Video in HD).  I have used Amazon SD and Netflix HD streaming on the PC with no issues, so it is not normal to have problems streaming video with this PC or the internet connection here.
The iTunes download was indicating it will take 2 hours and I let it buffer about 30 minutes on my 15Mb connection.  Over 1 gig is cached.
I can only play the movie a few minutes at a time before the movie playback and download both stop with unknown error -39 and I have to manually resume the download every few minutes and restart the movie or else  iTunes freezes completely and I have to kill it and restart it and I have also rebooted the PC.
The 24 hour rental countdown has already started since I have already attempted to start watching the movie and it doesn't look like I'm even going to have time to finish watching the movie now.  Every time iTunes crashes and I relaunch it, I now have to re-enter my iTunes password just to get into iTunes.
This has been a complete nightmare and waste of time and waste of the $4.99 rental fee.
Are there any fixes to these issues?

I waited for the download to complete and now when I play the movie there is no sound!!
The movie had sound before even though I could only play a few minutes of the movie at a time.
I have sound everywhere else on the PC including the music in iTunes.  Only the movie playback has no sound.
I have tried rebooting, reinstalling iTunes and I even installed Quicktime because an old thread about iTunes movie rentals playing with no sound suggested installing Quicktime separately, but it has not helped.
This is a very poor experience renting movies through iTunes.
I can't find a way to subscrive to answere to this question without subscribing to email alerts fot every post in this forum.

  • HT1657 movie rentals disappear

I just had a bunch of movie rentals completely disapepar off of my iPod and iTunes.   Why?  and how do I get them back?

Rentals have a limited life span.
30 days from the moment of purchase as long as you don;t start watching them.
or 24 hours once you start watching them.  (in some countries its 48 hours)
    Did they perhaps expire?
