I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too. I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network. For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network. Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:

HT1657 Rented movies won't play on IOS 7.0.4!
I have been trying to rent movies on my newly updated iPads 4 Gen and it won't download fully and won't play back. I have tried everything from doing a force start up to restarting my router and nothing helps. I have to check my memory and I have about 7 G and still I cannot download and play back. The sole reason why I bought this iPad was for HD movies. I don't have a computer to open iTunes up and transfer from there. Before these updates I was able to rent and buy movies without a problem!
If it has the cloud symbol then that indicates that it's in the cloud and not on your phone, but is available for redownloading - if you go into Settings > iTunes & App Store and turn Videos 'off' (under the 'Show All' heading) it should stop it showing in the Videos app. What you can redownload will still show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app.

Most movies won't play save for youtube and a few others
On Facebook and a lot of website, videos won't play, I just get a black screen when I click on the videos. Youtube is one of the few exceptions, I'd say 1 in 10 website don't work, videos uploaded directly on Facebook for exemple never work.
I though it might be my noscript, or adsblock but I tried every solutions on your support and various forums, didn't change a thing. (e.g. running in safe mode, deleting them, deleting Firefox and re-installing it) So it doens't seem to be an addon problem, unless it install something to deep in my PC for me to remove(the videos did work for a while on Firefox but I don't remember what could have triggered the change).
Then I thought it could be linked to an update to my graphic card but I really have no idea how to test that hypothesis.
I'm wondering if it could be because my computer is an ASUS? I had the same thing happens to me on my previous ASUS computer, it fixed itself when I reinstalled Windows, though when I re-installed it, I didn't have any of the Asus crap that comes with a new computer.
Is there anything you might know that is in conflict with Firefox on a PC that cause this problem?
I don't want to go to Chrome.I did that, I had two version running, though it didn't change anything that I noticed. I still have the same issue.
I know what you meant with the small lego icon, it's not what's happening, I have a simple black screen as if the video was about to start, it just never do - I don't have a loading issue either.
Addtionnal info, I noticed I have two Shockwave in my plugins - no idea if it's related
I also found out I can't remove the hardware acceleration in Flash. Whenever I right click on a flash thing and uncheck the box, as soon as I close the small window, the box has back being checked.
Among other things I tried is in the about:config, the dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode line, I've set it to TRUE.
I've included 2 images, one of the folder you mentionned, the other is what I get when I click on a cellphone uploaded video. It's not much of a picture, it's only a black screen as I said but just in case it can rule out some stuff. -

Rentes a movie from iTunes yesterday, half way through watching it and it froze and haven't been able to get it to play again. My MacBook Pro is working perfectly so this has to have something to do with iTunes. Can you please tell me where I can get a refund?

I started downloading a movie, and received a message that my movie ws ready to view. When I attempted to watch it, it would not play, but the 24 hour timer is running. What do do to get the movie to play and get the full 24 hours to watch it?
Thanks. I'm using a mac mini with lion os.Hi Steve - have you renamed the 'file' (actually a 'package' which can be opened with Control-Click), or a file within that package? If the latter, you may have lost the link to the Media folder.
If the former, it will have created a new project - you will find the originally-named project in iMovie's Trash. In fact it should have asked you about it.
I don't know if re-naming has been the cause of the problem you have though.
Try doing a 'Save As' with a new name and see it that new project works.
If not, open the 'package, click on Show Package Contents, and then go Shared Movies>iDVD and try opening the .mov file there.
If that plays, it hopefully can be imported into a new project - as one long clip. -
Rented movie won't play after 8 minutes in.
I rented a movie on my iTouch yesterday, then when I played it it stopped at 8 minutes 42 seconds and wouldn't play anything after that. I was determined to watch the movie so I rented and downloaded it again, it did the same thing. So today I synced my iTouch to my computer, updated it, tried the movies with the same problem, and rented the movie AGAIN via my computer. The movie did the same thing AGAIN! I'm soo frustrated! If anyone can help please do!!! I'd like to add that I rented a different movie and watched it the day before and it was fine, so I don't know what's going on with this movie!!
So for anyone who happens upon this...
I've noted that the beach ball clears if I wait for 1 hour.
I've also noted that it is much faster to rename the movie files themselves in the finder, the next time I play the movie in iTunes the name changes.
I've noticed several other messages about the spinning beachball of death. In case anyone is wondering don't force quit iTunes least you corrupt the file.

QTVR Movies won't play properly in iWeb
QuickTime VR panoramic movies won't play properly. Doesn't seem to matter what kind of iWeb page I use. The movies respond normally when opened with QuickTime Player. The seem to fail only when placed into iWeb.
First, there are no VR controls visible. What controls there are don't respond when clicked. Second, the mouse curson doesn't change when moved over the movie placeholder. Third, the only image within the movie placeholder is the first frame.
I tried several QTVR panorama movies with the same result. I also verified that none of the available movie controllers will function. I have already searched on QTVR in this forum and found none of the few suggestions offered to work.
Any new ideas?We've recieved your file and got it to work in iWeb. Here's what to do:
As always, place a text box in iWeb the size of the dimentions of your QTVR movie. Put some text in the box something like "QTVRMOVIECODEHERE"
After Publishing your site locate your "QTVRMOVIECODEHERE" text and replace it with
<embed src="http://URLWhereYourFileis.mov" width="320" height="240"></embed>
Another way you can do it is store the QTVR file on your host. If you are using .mac you can store it in your sites folder or Web folder. From the sites folder the URL for your file would be homepage.mac.com/YourUserName/YourFolder(if any)/YourQTVRMovieName.mov
Then place a hyperlink to your files URL in your iWeb page.

What happens if my rented movie won't play?
I have a similar issue. My Dell Latitude is running Windows Pro 8.1 and iTunes 11.1.3.8. It looks like it's playing, but it isn't.
Things seemed to work fine before the 8.1 update. I fear I will have to rollback to 8.0 because the sound no longer works on the computer unless you use the headphone jack.
Podcasts and music behave the same way, they appear to be playing, but the timer is not progressing for them either.

The following information should help you with this:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the app that is having the issue.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.

Was watching a movie on my iPad2 and the movie stopped playing, I thought it was because of a low battery but even after charging the battery to 100% it still won't play. I can bring up the movie & all the chapters but when I press play it says movie content can not be played. Please advise. Thanks!
I am having almost the same problem, with the same OS, iTunes versions, and kids waiting to watch their favorite movie (Frozen). I am (trying) to play the content on the computer, and hooked up to Vizio TV and external stereo.
The video will display on the TV, but the audio will only play through the laptop. The movie will still play with both audio and video on the laptop.
In researching this morning, it seems that i need to purchase a new TV and stereo that are HDCP "compliant" (NOT just compatible). Folks are also complaining that the same "won't play" issues directly on Mac hardware.
I could not find any current software workarounds or patches (Apple seems silent on this as a "problem").
Upgrading hardware is insulting and (frankly) impossible. Why should I get new hardware that works perfectly well?
I was going to get an Apple TV for Christmas, although not if new products cannot be used with my current hardware. I would rather go back to all Microsoft hardware and software than constantly deal with troubleshooting Apple hardware and software.
I'm going to uninstall iTunes v 12 and reinstall v 11 to see if that works.

iTunes rented movies won't play on my PC. "This movie required QuickTime which this version of iTunes doesn't include." So I downloaded QT 7 but movies still won't play. HELP Very frustrating.
Ok nw the rented film is on the iPad which won't play and when I looked at the Mac I was greeted with an error message saying that the film could nt be transferred because the file had already been transferred somewhere else! Thing is I can see it on theioad and the Mac still!
Obviously the film Kees checking where it as you can't watch it in two places at the same time. I can understand that but I knw it's not anywhere else.
The only thing I can think of is if when time machine backs it up it thinks it's being watched!
