HT1657 What happens if I rent a movie and later want to buy it in terms of price?
I recently bought the apple TV and paid for some movies, but I wonder if I rent a movie and later want to buy it will the price be different (lower) or do I have to pay full price and end up paying more.
You have to buy the movie at full price

You can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download of them : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

What happens when you rent movies and they don't play and you tried getting credit for it? I rented two movies which they were very very old movies in black & white and they both don't play. I never had this problem before even when downloading videos. Now how can I get credit for it? I contact itunes a number of times and no one has done nothing as of yet. Itunes also asked me for my order number which I sent them but still no credit.
Great question MommaBof4! This is actually something that can be completed. VZW does have the option to turn this feature on or off based upon the users request. If you would like to update this feature on your device please give us a call by dialing *611 send from your VZW device, thanks!

HT1657 is it possible to rent a movie and play it on a TV without Apple TV?
wanted to rent a movie and watch in a big screen, but don't have apple tv. i do have the HDMI adapter for the miniport. it is possible to use?
You can possibly get away with it... depends on if your TV/cables support HDCP, etc.

2 of my rented movies just stopped in the middle of the movie. Is it possible to redown load them free of charge? If not what other recourse is there for movies that do not down load properly?
If it's not playing properly then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

TS1424 I rented a movie and the time expired in less than 2 days. What do I do?
I rented a movie and the time expired in less than 2 days. I did not watch it all the way through and when I tried to finish watching, I got a message that the time had expired. I am supposed to have 30 days. What do I do?
Hi bluejay23,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. This article has information on rentals, including expiration times:

How long do I have to watch a rented movie?
You have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and 24 hours (in the US) or 48 hours (elsewhere) after you've started viewing to finish it. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library.
Cheers,

I just got ATV3, rented a movie and when I tried to play it I got the message "an error has occurred. Try again later". What does that mean?
What is your connection like (use speedtest.net)?
Check for interference using istumbler or netstumbler
Make sure your DNS is set correctly (settings - general - network - congifure DNS - automatic) -
I rented a movie and now can't find it. I was also charged for the movie? where is it?
What did you download it on ? If a computer's iTunes then do you have a 'rentals' tab in the Movies part of your library ? If on an iOS device then it should be in the Videos app (if it's not showing there then have you got a film age rating set in Restrictions that is hiding it ?).

I rented a Movie and it has been loading for 3 hours now. Internet connection is fine. Have never had a problem with this before. What's really annoying is that the 24 hour time limit is counting down even though we cant watch it. Any suggestions?
The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
Additionally, your 24 hours don't start until you begin to watch the movie, you have 30 days to start watching the movie. -
I rented a movie and it downloaded but the movie skips and i can hear the words but the picture does not? and now the movie is gone from the library and i only rented it an hour ago? what do i do?
I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
