I'm not sure what you mean exactly.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • I recently had to switch with my sister from Mac to PC, and I have all my songs, apps, movies, etc. on my iTunes on my mac. How do I transfer the contents of the other library to my new computer?

I really want to transfer all my content of my iTunes library like apps for my iPhone and also music to my new library on my new PC computer. Is there any way that I can do this?

Copy the entire iTunes Media folder in My Documents>My Music>iTunes and put it in the same location on your new computer. Then open iTunes and go to File>Add to library, and select all the stuff there that you want to add to your iTunes.

  • HT1660 can i retrieve my itunes library? I have changed computers and cannot find my downloads

I bought lots of records from itunes back in 2009 but now cannot retrieve them from the itunes library. Are they now lost and forgotten or can I find them somehow?

Did the backup of the old computer die as well?
Many times when user's state "my computer has died" this is simply not true... the drive may still be very usable and therefore able to access the data on the drive.

  • How Do I transfer My Ratings (ONLY) from one library to another

My hard drive on my desktop crashed. I had a back-up of the songs which I loaded into iTunes once I replaced the hard drive and iTunes. But, I lost my ratings -- almost 5,000 of the 14,000+ songs were rated. I have a PC with an old version of my iPod library file. However, it does not have about 2,000 of the songs and maybe 1,000 of the ratings. I'm afraid that if I transfer my library file from the laptop to the desktop, I'll really screw things up -- lose the 2,000 songs that had been added to the desktop, for example. Other than laboriously re-rating the 5,000 or so songs, one at a time, how can I get the ratings back without losing the 2,000 songs?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • How do I transfer a few songs from old library without bringing the entire old library to the new one?

I am trying to condense my itunes library from a desktop to a laptop. I only want a few songs from my original library so I can have more room on my ipod, I turned on home sharing so I could import the songs i wanted. then once I imported the select songs and synced my ipod, the entirety of my old library stayed and everything else went on.
itunes is saying that I have about 14.20 GB but my ipod says I only have 1.1 GB left....
    please help! thanks!

    Here are the screenshots.
Importing is bringing (in this case) a song from a library and bringing it into another library.

  • How do I transfer my music from my windows library to itunes

I just bought a new computer with Windows8.
I had some music on my USB key that wasnt on my ipod so, after dowmloading itunes, i plugged it in.
Because i dodnt have any music on the computer, it gave me the option to "detect media".
I clicked on it and it showed the music that was on the key.
Later on, I found another USB key that contained some music too. I tried to play the songs with itunes but it didnt seem to work.
I don't really know what to do and i could use some help.

I have a similar issue. I have some songs that were saved for use on a palm pilot using realplayer. I tried using the add file/folder options but nothing happened. I also tried moving the song folders into the Itunes music folder before I opened Itunes, and it looks like they are in the Itunes music folder, but when I started Itunes, the songs were not in there. Am I missing a step?
(They were saved on my laptop to then be synced on the Palm.)

  • Laptop brokre, managed to recover files onto harddrive, how do i transfer the music files into my library on a new computer, Laptop brokre, managed to recover files onto harddrive, how do i transfer the music files into my library on a new computer

ok so to cut a long story short my itunes account was on a laptop that broke, managed to get photo and music file backed up onto hard drive.
Can i just log into my itunes account on a new pc to sync andbackup my iphone? or do i need to transfer my music file into the account?
    Really need some help!
I have an iphone, Ipod and the account on the old laptop.

"I don't have the old computer. It overheated and literally melteddown!"
This is why it has alwasy been very basic to always maintain a backup copy.
Did you fail to do this?
"I have been talked through a back up process of the itouch music  on to the new laptop before, but can't remember how to do it. Any ideas on this process."
    Again.
The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  the only exception is itunes purchases:  File>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to buy a 3rd party program to get non-itunes purchased music from the ipod.
