  • How to transfer purchased item from itunes to an ipod

how to transfer purchased item from itunes to an ipod? Spent about an hour and cannot figure out how to do that The best result this far was smth. like this to Sync a book means that all your music, songs, TV show and movies will be erased. What a strange Apple logic!

That message indicate that you are trying to sync with other than the one syncing computer/iTunes library that yo can have. You have to two choices:
    - Make this computer your syncing computer by:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
    - The manual method of syncng specified here:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    or
iTunes 11 for Mac: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
The manaul method on works for music and videos on other than your one syncing computer.

  • I need to know how to transfer purchased items in iTunes to my library

I have been trying to restore my iPad mini through my MacBookPro, but I get a window saying this: "There are purchased items on the iPad that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. If you restore this iPad, these items will be erased and you will have to purchase them again. Are you sure you want to continue?"
I went to my iTunes  and opened my music, but I cannot figure out how to transfer my purchased items to my Library. I always thought that every purchase was placed automatically in the library
I do not want to purchase these items again, how do I work it out??
    Thanks!!

  • Topic: How to transfer purchased music from iTunes

Since the item <Topic: How to transfer purchased music from iTunes> is "locked" (whatever that means - typically, I got an error message when I clicked on the link!!) - I would like to state that despite downloading the iPod updater to deal with this problem, I cannot update my iPod because "the updater does not have a firmware image". I deeply resent not being able to move 100 tracks I have bought and paid for with my hard-earned money to my iPod. I trust that Apple will sort out this mess forthwith.

I have now solved this problem (almost by accident...).
Unfortunately, before you can update the iPod software on the older iPods you have to first do a Restore Factory Settings from the iPod updater (otherwise "updater cannot find firmware image'). Let the 'Restore' process run right through (it ends when the iPod fully reboots). You can then run the iPod software updater to Update from iPod 2.2 to 2.3 software, but afterwards you have to recopy all your songs from iTunes into the now empty iPod. I reloaded my iPod last night, and it took about 20-30mins using firewire for c.2400 songs. It worked for me, anyway. And the interface with iTunes is an improvement. Could have done without all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, though. Thank you, Apple.

  • How to transfer purchased music from iTunes

Can anyone tell me how to transfer purchased music from iTunes to my iPod without first downloading to a CD?

If you are using the latest version of iTunes (4.6), then you need to make sure your ipod software is up to date also.
When you have done this, authorize your music in iTunes by playing a few seconds of it, and it should transfer by whatever synching method you choose.
    Get the latest updates here.
If you have done all this and still can't transfer it, post back with more info about what is happening.
    EDIT.
    Grrrr......must learn to type faster!

  • HT4623 can i update my iphone 4s to ios6.1 without transferred purchased items to itunes library as its aking to do but i cant?

is there any risk of updating my iphone4s to ios6.1 without transferred purchased items to itunes library?

If something goes wrong with the process, you will need to re-download all music and any movies or tv shows purchased from the iTunes store and the same for all apps - one by one.

  • Message says to transfer purchased items to iTunes, but I've synched!

I just clicked the Update button for 3.2.2 and I got the strange message--
"There are purchased items on your iPad that have not been transfered to your iTunes library."
I do not understand. I had just synched it. I synched a second time, no change! Same message. Which includes
"You should transfer these items to iTunes."
I thought that's what synching was for! Would appreciate any suggestions on this.
If this helps, I did notice that Books on the iPad include several that are not on the iTunes book tab. They were freebies downloaded from Google Books. Several are PDFs, IIRC.

Also, IIRC, several of them are from Project Gutenberg.
Well, what do you know? First, I discovered that iTunes now has a Home Sharing feature, which I am presuming established a network between our iPad and the MBP. That didn't work.
But then I discovered under File, the commend "Transfer purchases from iPad [name of iPad]".
    That fixed the problem!
I am still baffled, though. Synching does not transfer all purchased items from the iPad! I always thought it did. Sync Books says it will remove all music, songs, TV shows, etc. from iPad, so that's not an option. And the Home Sharing seems to be one way--only to the iPad.
I hope someone can enlighten me about this. I'll bet I've missed some settings somewhere that could fix each of these!

  • How to backup purchased app to itunes library and restore

How can I backup purchased app to itunes library ( version 11.0.0.163 ) , what I had found in google was old version with different format
    kindly advice , thanks

Connect your device to iTunes. The device should show at the top right just next to the iTunes Store button.
Or on a Mac to View > Show Sidebar, on a PC press Ctrl+S and the device should show in the sidebar
Backup apps and restore as you did in iTunes 10
    Hope that helps

  • How to transfer/enable my entire itunes library on new iMac? Purchased also

Songs from cds, songs i have downloaded from other suppliers & all my purchases from itunes store.
Now i have searched for the answers already but havents found clear answers which make me think i can manage it or do it myself.
I do not want to lose everything or even part of it. I have tried authorising my itunes library on other computers but in the case of my pc laptop, only 1 episode of a tv series came up when there where at least 2 or 3 entire seasons of other tv series purchased.
So whats the most straightfoward way. Also will be looking to transfer pics & video clips from my camera etc. Should i buy a firewire & can it be used for transfering my itunes purchases also???

OK. First you need to de-authorize the old computer: About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization.
Next you need to copy your Music folder and some preference files to an external drive:
    /Home/Music/ folder
/Home/Library/Preferences/ folder: transfer these preference files:
    com.apple.iTunes.app.plist
    com.apple.iTunes.eq.plist
    com.apple.iTunes.plist
    com.apple.iTunesHelper.plist
Once you transfer all this to the new computer you will need to authorize the new computer per instructions in the above link.
If you don't have an external drive, then you can perform the transfers via Target Disk Mode:
Boot your old computer into TDM. After the TDM logo appears boot the new computer normally. Your old computer's hard drive should appear on the new computer's Desktop. You can then transfer the files by drag and drop.
