You can, but switching iTunes libraries and store accounts is generally more hassle than it is worth. You can sync each device with selected purchases and if you disable the option to Automatically include new apps, apps purchased on one device won't automatically load onto the other.

Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

Did the iPod get wet by the hair product and probably cause a problem due to the liquid or is there some thing on the front camera lens that prevents the camera from seeing? How does the camera not work?
If liquid damage I doubt YOU can fix it but you can have Apple fix it or a third-party place. If lens is obstructed you may be able to polish the area.

iPod touch is Wi-Fi only, yes. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by games from home Mac, but you can purchase game apps in iTunes and sync them to your iPod.

I wanted my teenager's AppleID to be different from mine so that she couldn't charge stuff to my AppleID, therefore I created me another one. Now when I go to Sync either device, it tells me that this IOS device can only be synced with one AppleID. Then I get a message to erase it, not going to do that, lol. If I logout as one ID and login as the other, will it still retain all synced information on the PC from the first IOS device? I forgot to mention that she has a PC at her house that she also syncs to. Would this cause a problem. I am already getting that pop up saying that the iPod is synced to another library (even though she is signed in with her Apple ID to iTunes) and gives the pop up to Cancel, Erase & Sync, or Transfer Purchases. My question arose because she clicked on "Erase & Sync" by mistake when she plugged the iPod to her PC the first time. When the iPod was purchased and setup, it was synced to my PC first. When she went home, she hooked it up to her PC and then she erased it by accident. I was able to restore all the missing stuff yesterday using my PC. However, even after doing that it still told me the next time I hooked it up last night that the iPod was currently synced with a different library. Hopefully, you can help me understand all this. She wants to sync her iPod and also backup her iPod at both places. Both PCs have been authorised. Thanks

If you did not configure FindmyIPod on it, I'm afraid you are out of luck. Report the theft to the local authorities and change the passwords to any and all accounts you have may used/accessed or configured on the iPod Touch.

I believe that if they are not old enough for an own account, it isn't possible.
If you really don't want to lie about their age, you could make your own account and let them use it. Be sure your bank account isn't linked to it, because little children tend to innocently buy all kinds off stuff. (you could use a iTunes gift card)
lying about age is quite common, Apple can do not much about it, but only, if your children see for them harming content, Apple can't be blamed.
If someone knows much better, you better trust him, I do not know most of these kind of things

I can't update apps because iphone 5 is asking for the password to a different itunes account

In my settings under iTunes and App Store I am signed in with my iTunes account.
However, when I go to update apps it asks me for the password to a different iTunes account - that of my partner who also uses my iMac.
I've tried signing out and signing back in via Settings but it's still asking for my partner's password instead of mine.

the apps were orignially download with the old ID and are linked forever to that old ID. You need ot delete the apps and if you want them you need to download with your currrent ID

You must initiallly activate iCloud from an IOS device or a Mac. You cannot inititally activated from a PC.

Each of you should set up your separate iCloud account on your own computer using your Apple ID. This gives you two independent iCloud accounts.
Note that an iPad is not a multi-user device. It can only be synced with one account.
