  • IPhone 5 doesn't work with Bose sound dock using the 30-pin adapter.

I just upgraded to iPhone 5.  To my huge disappointment, I can not use it with my Bose sound dock using the 30-pin adapter. That is just ridiculous, after spending so much money!!! I tried using another cable and it works but sound is of poor quality

I have the SoundDock 10 and generally use the Bluetooth connection.
I have just reinserted the 30 pin normal socket ( as in normal SoundDock)
the Apple 30 pin to lightning adapter and with iPhone 5 have perfect
    sound
It works so something in your set up is faulty possibly the adapter

  • HT1665 Bose sound dock with the new Lightning connection of an iPhone5?

There are many accessories for use with the original 30pin connector, how are we to use these still great and useful items like sound dock with the new lightning connector?

Use the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter - this will make your iPhone or iPod very wobbly on the SoundDock.  To correct this and prevent damage to the 30-pin connector, make a upper support for your device from a white polymer eraser. Cut it in an 'L' shape as shown in the photo, the dimensions depending on whether you do or don't dock with a case.  You'll find your device is even more stable than when you used the 30 pin adapter.  One eraser will make 3-4 of these supports, depending on the dimensions you choose.

  • HT1665 I have the lightning to 30 pin adapter and it doesn't work.

I bought a lightning to 30-pin adapter and the thing won't  work. I connect is very loose.

So what do you think writing to a technical support forum would accomplish?  Do you really need someone here to tell you to return it?

  • Lightning to 30-pin Adapter Availability

Not only is it disgusting that we now have to purchase the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter to get the phone to work with all of our other systems, Bose sound system, car connection etc  But Apple dont release anywhere near enough of them to cope with the demand.  Also they have put some sort of chip in it to restrict any other manufacturer from making an equivalent.
Come on Apple your products are good but not that good and potentially you will not be the richest company in the world for much longer.

I Agree 100%. I have been an apple user for many years. Everythig at work / home is apple sofware and hardware. I develop for iOS and have purchased every iPhone up-to-date. I have never had an issue with apple until now, and have always stood loyal to them even when people around me doubted... but now? Not so much. I am starting to lose faith in this company with the mistakes they are making. Remember the blackberry? This is how it all started. ******* people off one bit at a time. Why did we not recieve the Lightning adapter with our iPhone 5's? Because Apple was too eger to get the phone out the door for their 4th quarter. Why do we have to pay for it? Because Apple decided to put way to much thought into something so darn simple. Why is there no availablity? Because Apple simply does not care if I can use my iPhone in my car or with my home stereo system... They already made their 900 bucks off me. Why are they the richest company in the world? Because Steve Jobs was running their company... Do you think he would have allowed this to happen? I doubt it. He knew how to take care of his customers. I will continue to use Apple products until something better comes along, and so will everyone else, but when that "something better" comes along, Apple will no longer be the wealthiest company in the world and will be thinking "What happened?" just like RIM is.

  • APPLE LIGHTNING TO 30-PIN ADAPTER MD824ZM/A

I have just bought a new iPod Touch 5th Gen.
Will the "APPLE LIGHTNING TO 30-PIN ADAPTER MD824ZM/A" let me connect the iPod to my surround sound, which has a 30 pin dock, and allow the music to play through the system?
Have been doing some searching and have seen varying answers.  The APPLE LIGHTNING TO 30-PIN ADAPTER MD824ZM/A cable is not cheap so I don't want to be paying out for something that will not do the job.
    Thanks

Thanks - hadn't considered the surround controls controlling the iPod so handy to know

  • Apple Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter and 1st generation connector

Will an Apple Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter allow an iPhone 5 to charge from a 1st generation connector? When I plug my old iPhone 3s directly into my 2006 Lexus LS430 connector, the iPod function will work but not charge. This is apparently because 1st gen connectors didn't have a USB charge capability. I'm hoping the adapter will correct that.

As I suggested above ,the first iPod had a firewire connection ,as did the next ( I have one)
I also had the first Bose sounddock which was designed for the first iPod and required the afore mentioned adapter to work with my iPhone 3G
As I said to charge the iPhone 3G you need the  adapter to change the 30 pin wiring from having firewire to just USB as everything is today
    Look at
as an example ,this is the type of adapter you require to change the car live connection to support the iPhone 3G
If you then also want to use an iPhone 5 you will IN ADDITION require the lightning to 30 pin adapter

  • Logitech speaker S715i won't recharge my "ipad mini" using the lightning to 30-pin Adapter. Has anyone solved this problem?

Everytime I connect my mini to the Logitech S715i or Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus speaker a pop-up appears telling me the iPad doesn't recognize the device and the battery symbol shows that it isn't loading. I am using the lightning to 30-pin Adapter.
Is there a way to correct this so my speaker will act as a dock and load the iPad?
Would love the help if you have the know how. Thanks!

Since the last update I have noticed the percentage of battery power does increase when my iPad mini has been docked although the actually staus reported on the iPad screen while docked is 'not charging'. This is obviously an Apple recognization problem (not sure about third party as Apple is providing the software).
Will not return my Logitech as it has excellent sound (speakers are higher watt then others in this price range), plus it has a built in battery which means I can take it on the terrace for tea in the afternoon.
As pointed out it requires more power then the iPhone, it does take longer to charge, so in the future if I need a quicker charge I'll do it via a wall outlet.
side note: This problem must also be why my iMac is shutting down all other USB devices when the iPad is plugged in.

  • Lightning to 30-pin adapter doesn't work w/ iPod Touch 5G

Hi. The lightning to 30-pin adapter I purchased (from Apple) with my iPhone 5 does not work with my daughter's new iPod Touch 5G. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks.

Does she have a case? Please give me more details

  • What adapter do I need for my ipod Nano 7th Generation to connect to a Sony home docking station (30 pin). I purchased the one recommended (Lightning to 30 pin adapter), but it says 'this accessory is not supported by this device)?

Could someone please tell me the correct lead I need for an Applie Ipod 7th Generation 16GB for a Sony docking station. I bought a Lightning to 30 pin adaptor that fits the dock but not the ipod (this was recommended to me by someone from the Apple shop believe it or not). I need one that will fit the ipod and then slot into the 30 pin dock. The dock pulls out and my old ipod (5th Generation) just slotted straight in, but this slot obviously doesn't fit. It would really help if someone can recommend what I need to use or even if there is one that just slots in or whether I need some sort of cable and can't use the docking station. I've had a lock at the Apple store but just keep getting confused about what does what and can't seem to see anything unless I need an additional cable to slot into the 30 pin adapter I already have?
    HELP - CONFUSED.COM!

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.
This is lightning to 30 pin adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B---Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adapter/6651 936.p?id=1218803450821&skuId=6651936#tab=overview
    Is this what you bought?
You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

  • Looking for an extender for lightning to 30-pin  adapter

The .2m, or the longer lightning to 30-pin adapter for the Iphone 5/5s/5c, is too small.
I drive a 2008 VW Jetta with a 30-pin iPod adapter dock in the center that was stock with the car. I have the adapter, but, it is just not long enough at all. I don't mind it, but I would prefer, of course, to have something longer, and safer.
I have already tried Cablejive cables, and they are not compatible with VW systems.
I don't care if the solution is bulky at this point, I just want something safer when I drive, so it is easier to pick my music.
I was reading somewhere someone using a firewire cable or something? And just to let you know, I do not have an MDI connector.
    Thank you all.

If you're using a case on your iPhone 5, the problem may have something to do with the way your case was designed. Many of the most popular cases aren't compatible with the adapter becasue they prevent it from being flush with the bottom of your iPhone.
The workaround solutions are to cut out part of the bottom of your case so the dock connector will fit, or to exchange the adapter for the adapter cable, which is $10 more but plugs in to the bottom of your iPhone like the USB cable that came with it.
Personally, I just cut two small rubber parts of my case out (an Incipio DualPro that otherwise offers great protection, which I got at the local Verizon store). That solved the problem for me.

  • Does the lightning to 30 pin adapter support audio?

I have an iPod touch 5th generation and can't listen to it in the car because the wire from the cars FM transmitter has a 30 pin connection. I was just wondering if the lightning to 30 pin adapter would support the audio.

    Hey treshz98,
Thanks for the information, I believe the following article addresses your question:
Lightning to 30-pin Adapter: Using video adapters or other 30-pin accessories
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5498
When you connect an iPod or iPhone with the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter, the iPod or iPhone will be treated like an iPod that does not support iPod Out. You should still be able to navigate through and play your music using the vehicle's built-in user interface.
