HT1678 Sorting photos in iPod Classic.

Is there any way to sort photos in an iPod classic by file name instead of file date? I am synching the photos from a folder on my hard drive, not via iPhoto.

  • ILOST MY PHOTOS ON IPOD CLASSIC AFTER I START SYNC THEM ON ITUNNES

ILOST MY PHOTOS ON IPOD CLASSIC AFTER I START SYNC THEM ON ITUNNES AND IT GIVES THIS MASAGE
IT SAYS pHOTOS FOLDER SYNCING HAS BEEN DISABLED FOR T IPOD BECAUSE THE FOLDER " XX" CAN NOT BE FOUND
AND AFTER THAT I DID NOT SEE MY PHOTOS ON IPOD

Is the computer that you allowed the iPod to Sync with the same one that you originally synced with, or a different one?
If it is the same computer, then the photos should still be on the computer. So once again, what happened to the photos folder that was on the computer?
If it is a different computer, then I think iTunes has removed the photos, along with the music.
You can only Sync an iPod with one iTunes Library. If you attempt to Sync with a second computer, iTunes will warn you that everything will be removed from the iPod and only content from the second Library will be on the iPod.

  • Download photos from ipod classic

Because of a glitch with the electricity, my separate harddrive reformatted itself to MS-Dos; so to reformat it back to Mac, I had to delete my iPhoto files.  While trying to back it up on my OTHER harddrive, a 'fault' appeared just as it was finishing up.  After clicking the OK button, I thought, well, the iPhoto that already was there would be practically fully backed up, one photo more or less would be no problem.  So I went ahead and reset my harddrive (the first one), not realizing that my iPhoto had entirely disappeared from my second, backup harddrive!  I still have a few of the pictures on my iPod classic.  The question is, can I upload them back from my iPod into a file on my computer?

Depending on your options when you synced the photos onto the iPod they may only be low resolution versions. Some of the tools listed in this user tip Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device may be able to extract them. If you included full resolution images I think they get stored in readable folders at the root of the iPod's drive.

  • Help with import/drag one photo into iPod Classic 160

Hello - I could swear I've done this before --- I've got my iPod Classic 160 Gb synced to iTunes, and JUST want to drag one little photo onto my iPod (in the left column), but I get an alert & it won't let me do this. Can't you just add a photo by dragging it onto the iPod in the left column? I don't want to totally sync my iPod as I get a warning saying that if I sync for photos, it will replace ALL photos and music with what is in my iTunes library, and I don't have the entire contents of my iPod currently in my iTunes library. Can't I do a simple thing like add one photo? (It's a .jpg.) Thank you very much for any help.

Thanks again for your suggestion about taking the charger back to the store. We tried it there and the charger itself worked fine (shocker!) so we tried with a different Apple charger and my iPod. And it finally worked! The guy at the store tried to explain to me WHY the charger hadn't worked with my iPod (something about ampere or something) but when I told him that it in fact worked with my old iPod from 2007 he had to agree that it was very strange.
Anyway, they didn't have in stock that new slick Apple charger (small and thin compared to the big squared one I got first) so I ended up buying a Belkin charger that works great. So all's well that ends well!

this is a pic of the problem if it helps explain abit more

If you copied photos to your iPod using the full resolution option, enable disk use, open your iPod in "my computer" in Windows, open the photos folder then open the "full resolution" folder and drag the photos out of that folder to your desktop. For enabling disk use look here.
    Disk Use.
If you only copied the photos as thumbnails, you can't do this so you'll need a program such as this one.
    CopyTrans Photo
Photos as thumbnails won't be of the original quality when copied back to your computer.

  • Is album artist sort available on iPod classic now?

If I buy an iPod Classic today, is there an option to have artists sorted by album artist? Thank you

I'm fairly certain there have been no changes to the classic firmware.
The workaround is to set as a compilation or set a common artist.

  • How do i put photos on ipod classic

want to know how i can put photos from my computer to my ipod classic.
i have tried just dragging them into the ipod folder but that didnt work.
so i tried making a new folder and put my photos in there but then when i went to put them on my ipod classic it told me the photos werent there.
    please HELP.
and there was no manual or cd that came with it, it came with a manual on how to put songs on but nothing else.

Connect your iPod to your iTunes Library and look on the iPod/Photos pane:
    and then...
Choose a folder on your computer from the drop-down menu I've ringed. Yoiu can only choose one folder, but all the photos and sub-folders in it will then be added to your iPod (you may need to press the Sync button).

  • How to transfer photos from iPod classic (earlier version) to my mc

I just brought a new imac and I am trying to transfer my photos from my ipod classic earlier version (software version 1.3, 30GB) to my iMAC.

The photos syned to the iPod are very low res versions of the original photos, optimized to fit on the iPod's small screen while taking up as little space in storage as possible.  They are stored in a single special database file.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer them to the Mac, and if you could, they would look bad blown up to a larger size on the iMac's screen.
There is a setting on the iPod's Photos screen in iTunes (a checkbox) that says Include full-resolution photos.  IF that setting was checked when you synced the photos to the iPod, you can Enable disk use and find the originial full res photo files in the Photos folder (on the iPod).
Otherwise, you should transfer the original photo files from your previous computer, if possible.

  • How to transfer photos from ipod classic to pc

i have followed the instructions on a previous post but its still not showing my photos on the computer can anyone help me to do this without deleting my photos i have 2000 to transfer.

You need a third-party program. PhoneView and Touch Copy work for iOS devices like the iPod touch. They may work for the iPod classic. You posted in the iPod touch forum.

  • ITunes 8.0 problems while syncing photos with iPod Classic 120GB

Hello, last week I bought the new iPod Classic 120GB, I updated iTunes to 8.0. But when I was syncing, everything sync (movies, music, cover arts, etc) except the photos. It appears this message "the iPod "Name's iPod" canot be synced. the required file cannot be found." Those anyone knows how to solve this issue?
When I don't selected to import photo albums, it syncs perfectly.
    Thanx for your help

Oh, I have switched USB ports & cables just to make sure.  I am re-syncing now, but am afraid it will turn out the same and continue to have the same issues.

  • Ipod nano - lost photos from ipod classic

I had an ipod classic on my pc and then installed an ipod nano for my daughter. It automatically synched with my library. She now has my songs but cannot import any music(it takes over 1 hour to imort 16 songs -then show durations of over 400 minutes and will not play. In addition I have lost all my photographs. Can anybody over a solution or should I put the lot in the bin? I am desperate - already spent 4 hours at this! Thanks

Pic sync is one way - computer to ipod.
Ipod will sync pics with one computer at a time. If you sync to another, then it will first erase the current content from the ipod, then replace with content from the new computer.

  • Sorting photos on iPod

One folder that I have copied contains over 800 photos. On my PC they have file names that commence with date taken (yymmdd) followed by a sequence number (e.g. 071229-01). The photos taken on one day do not sort properly on the iPod - can anyone explain?

here's what's happening to me. I'm using powerpoint to create slides, then I am saving the slides as JPGs. I want them (obviously) in a certain order. PowerPoint names the slides: Slide1, Slide2, Slide3... etc... to Slide153 (that's how many I have).
    The iPod is sorting like this: Silde1, Slide10, Slide100, Slide101, Slide102, etc.
I tried doing a bluk-rename, and that works so long as you do it 10 pictures at a time... othewise you get back to the same sorting problem.
Unfortunately, PowerPoint doesn't give me the option to save as a 8-digit filename (ergo: Slide001, Slide002), which would work for me.
Anyway... that's what I could discover of the WHY... I don't know how to fix it though.

  • Can't Sync Photos To iPod Classic

I have the last white plastic Imac with the latest version of the Mac OS (10.5.7) and with the latest version of iTunes (8.2).
I just recently tried to sync some photos (for the very first time) to the iPod. When I select the folder where the photos are located and tell iTunes to APPLY (sync), I get an error msg. telling me that iTunes CAN'T find the iPod (though the iPod does indeed show up in the left hand column of iTunes under devices); i.e it's saying that it can't find the iPod though it quite obviously DOES recognize it.
I've wasted a lot of time talking with Apple support who haven't been able to help. I find that Apple tech support and AppleCare tech support is inconsistent. I've wasted hours on the phone with them to ultimately get no (correct) help or to suddenly get a dial tone (the connection is dropped on the Apple end) and I have to call back and START ALL OVER AGAIN....going through Apple's funky voice mail system, etc. and then having to re-explain everything AGAIN from square one. A real pain in the ying-yang.
This is perhaps related to another issue that I've had with the iPod since I've had it and NEVER got resolved through Apple and I have just lived w/ the problem since last Oct; see my msg. from some months back that still remains unresolved.
BTW, I had a scheduled call from an "Apple Expert" yesterday who was supposed to have all the details of the problem (I had gone into detail relating the issue to an Apple Tech the day before and was assured that the expert would be fully up-to-speed when he/she called) but when I got the call I found that the tech had NOT been fully briefed as I was told that the person would be so they were unable to help and hence wasted a greater part of my day scheduling around waiting for the call from the "Expert". Phooey!
    HELP!
    JG

I had the same Problem, very frustrating until you realize what it was. My simple fix was!
    On your IPOD go to
    Settings
    Main Menu
    Photos (probably set to off)
    Turn ON
    Should do it

  • Trying to download photos from Ipod classic to a PC

How do I sync Ipod photos to My Albums on an HP PC?

Syncing photos is only one way, from your PC to your iPod. If you need to copy photos from your iPod back to your PC, you'll need the assistance of some third party software.  Also keep in mind that these photos are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnail versions optimized for viewing on your iPod's small screen.
    Here is one option.
