I have a samsung galaxy s4. All of a sudden I can't get texts from iphone users. I used to have an iphone. What do I do

switched to galaxy 3 and cant' get texts from people that used to imessage me. I have tried everything but swtiching my phone number.

If you no longer have access to your iPhone, you will need to contact Apple for help deactivating your phone number from their iMessage system so those with iPhones will send normal text messages to your phone number instead of iMessages.

You can't receive SMS on your non-Apple device when another person sends them using an iPhone.
You can't send SMS to a non-Apple device because they send as an iMessage.
Resolution
If you experienced the symptoms above, your cellular phone number may still be registered with iMessage. When you turn iMessage on with your iPhone, iMessage registers your cellular telephone number.
To deregister your phone number, tap Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off.
If you can't deactivate iMessage after you perform the steps above or you can't access the iPhone, please contact Apple Support.

I cancelled my i message on my 4s and on my new android I can't get text from apple users

I got a new phone( Android) and I am giving my son my 4S Iphone. The problem is, my messages from I phone users wont show up on my new phone. I have an ipad and I disabled the I message. I still cant get text messages from my Iphone friends. How can I get my I messaqge account phone number cancelled?

Can't get texts from one person

Does anyone know of anything I could try to help me receive texts from someone that I previously received texts from just fine?
About 2 weeks ago a friend of mine and I noticed that neither of our texts were being received by the other. He uses an iPhone and I use a Galaxy S3. I'm on Verizon and he's on AT&T.
We're both able to send/receive from other people who use differing brands of devices (ie I can send/receive from other iPhone users and he can send/receive from other Android users) as well as both of us being able to send and receive from users from other carriers (ie I can send/receive from other AT&T users and he can send/receive from other Verizon users).
Both of us have done a factory reset on our phones, made sure we've got the most up to date software etc.
He's tried disabling iMessage which didn't help.
The only things that I can find online about this are for people who used to have iPhones and now have Androids and their iMessage account is still tied to their number which causes issues. This is not the issue for me as I've always been an Android user and up until about 2 weeks ago we could send/receive to and from each other just fine.

Neither of us have made any changes or updates to our phone (other than any automatic phone updates, but I don't think any of those would have happened for either of us in the last couple of weeks). We both tried sending a text to the phone number rather than a saved contact but none of the messages made it through.
We both use the default messaging application on our phones.

The only person my mother's iphone 4 is unable to send text to. She can receive my texts from android.

I notice my phone number appears odd when my texts come in to her... we've deleted contacts and re-added. She is able to text back and forth from my husband with his android without problem. ideas?

Try deleting your contact from her iPhone4 (but don't re-add it back). Also delete her contact from your Galaxy. Send her a text and see if she can reply. If that works, the problem has to do with the nature of your contact info; try adding the contacts back, one at a time, supplying minimum information, testing each time.

People can't get texts from S4

Hey, just the other day my friend couldn't get my texts anymore... I have the S4 and she has the Sony Xperia Z on T-Mobile.... we would text fine then one day she just stopped getting my texts, and I can't see hers...
Then last night we were able to text for about 2 minutes then we couldn't get each other texts anymore, why is this happening?

How can I get text from a text field and display it in an alert?

Hello! I am BRAND NEW to Objective-C and Xcode and iOS, so PLEASE be forgiving of what is going to be a stupid question. I have a text field. I want to enter some text, click "return", and see my text in an alert. It doesn't serve any useful purpose, but this is how I learn. So far, I am unsuccessful. Here's my function from my HelloEarthViewController.m file:

Is an "action button" a real button? From my limited understanding, the alert should launch when I click "return" since showInputMessage is attached to Editing Did End on the text field.

Devour - Can't Receive Texts from other Carriers

Lately i've been having issues with receiving texts from other Carriers. I've already reset my phone multiple times, both hard and soft. All applications were deleted, i deleted conversations, wiped all conversations, re-texted the person, and tested who gets what.
Basically in a nutshell,
T-Mobile, i can occasionally get texts from.
Sprint, AT&T, Virgin, and any and all subsidiaries of forementioned carriers send replies i cannot get.
Every carrier can receive my message. i cannot receive theirs.
Verizon does work - for send and receive.
voicemails do work, i can leave one, and they can call me.
i've tested every method suggested over and over. im at the end of my rope. My job requires that my phone can receive messages from the employees and bosses, and all of them aren't Verizon-based. Somebody, please help. No, getting a new phone isn't feasible, and all my other phones are broken, except this one...and this was the first phone i actually owned three years ago.

Under no circumstances can you receive a text from an Android phone on the iPad. Using your iPhone number on your iPad, only allows you to keep the messages in sync across all iOS devices.
The messages app doesn't work with Android phones. It only works with other iOS devices and Macs running Mountain Lion or Mavericks. You can text with Android phones using an iPhone because that uses standard SMS text messaging.
So if your whole theory about the fact that you can't receive texts on the iPad was predicated on the fact that you don't get the texts from your husband's phone, now you know why. It's never going to happen with an Andriod device.
