  • My Apple Care plan expired less than a week ago, and my phone has died. Will Apple have any mercy on me?

I am beyond livid that my two-year apple care plan is now expired on my iPhone 3G and my phone has completely gone kaput. I attempted to go to AT&T yesterday and just get the iPhone 4, but with the iPhone 5 lurking just around the corner, I would have to pay full value when it comes out in a few weeks/months.
My brother gave me his old iPhone; will I be able to activate it with no problem? I read an article somewhere that I'd have to sign a new two-year agreement with AT&T to activate the old phone, again defeating the purpose of using an interim phone before the 5 comes out.
    Someone help!!

Actually MArc, it is you who needs to get the story straight.
Apple Care on an iPhone only extends the warranty one year past the original first year, giving you 2 years in total.

Apple Care on Computers (not iPhones), extends the warranty two years after the original first year, giving you 3 years in total.

  • I am planning on buying an iphone 4 from some one. The phone still has the Apple Care Protection plan on it. Would there need to be a transfer of plan onto my name? If so, how is this done?

Hi, I am planning on buying an iphone 4 from some one. The phone still has the Apple Care Protection plan on it. Would there need to be a transfer of plan onto my name? If so, how is this done?

As the others have said, transferring AppleCare to your name is not absolutely essential. It can make things easier in some cases, though, should questions arise, so it's worth having done. The person from whom you're buying the iPhone will have to call AppleCare Plan Administration (s/he can call the normal Apple support line and ask to be transferred) and arrange to have the plan transferred to you.
    Regards.

  • Can an apple care plan be used for a phone that was previously broken and was later turned in for a new undamaged phone?

I dropped my iphone and the screen cracked so I am paying $200 to exchange it in the mail for a fixed phone.  I know the apple care plan can only be bought for new phones, but will this phone count as a "new phone" and be able to be covered under apple care?

I see ads on Amazon selling "used" Apple care, If this is decided by the laws of a country, does anyone know if it applies to the US?  I'm interested in covering my MBA and I could save about $100 if I went for one of these "used" deals on Apple Care.

  • If I buy a new iphone is my apple care plan still valid on my old phone?

If I buy a new iphone is my apple care plan still valid on my old phone?

The Applecare remains with the device until expiry and is transferable
Is the AppleCare Protection Plan or AppleCare+ transferable?
    Yes.
If you choose to sell or give away your Apple product, you can also transfer the ownership of the AppleCare Protection Plan or AppleCare+. Please see the Terms and Conditions for complete details.

  • Got a new lap top my husband wanted to help me by downloading itunes on it I have not used icloud but do have it on my phone When he pugged it in it asked if he wanted to backup he said yes Then reset my phone now all my pictures are gone please help

I got a new lap top and my husband thought it would be a good idea to help me by downloading itunes on it. Well Not so much...   I have not used icloud but do have it on my phone and other items. When he pugged my phone in to my laptop it asked if he wanted to backup he said yes. Then it reset my phone and now all my pictures are gone please help

If your phone was backed up to your computer, the backup would contain your camera roll photos (and videos).  Restoring to this backup would recover them.  However, if it was backed up a second time after losing them, this would overwrite the backup containing the data and your photos would be lost.
You can try restoring to your backup, but before doing so go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  This will prevent the phone from automatically syncing and backing up when you connect it to your computer, thereby overwriting the backup you want to restore to.  After doing this, open iTunes on your computer and connect your phone, then right-click on the name of your phone on the left side of iTunes and choose Restore from Backup.  (If you have iTunes 11 first go to View>Show Sidebar.)
Again this might work, as long as the phone was only backed up and then not subsequently backed up again after the photos were lost.

  • Recieving a phone from verizon with your apple care plan

do you get a referbished phone and how do i know if it is referbished and why do we get those kind a not a new one if our phone is bad because of manufacture error?

        Great question dinkeldorf!
If you have purchased Apple Care, then you will want to have the device evaluated and replaced direct by Apple. Verizon Wireless does not handle Apple care.
However, if its being replaced under the standard warranty from Apple, we do handle that! Under the warranty, a certified like new device of the same make/model is offered. The devices are supplied by Apple to Verizon Wireless. You can find out more on the certified like new device you'll receive right on line: http://bit.ly/121kUia. Let me know if you have any further questions.

  • Echo into callers phone when mobile is on car kit

    Hi
I've a new 6120 Classic and have just had a CK-7W car kit fitted. Problem is that when the phone is connected to the car kit the person on the caller's phone recieves an echo. Does any one know how I can get rid of te echo?
    Cheers

    Hi Everyone.
    Remember this.
    Hi.
I have a CK-7W car kit and have just purchased two Nokia 6120's and have been told that I have to buy a new car kit. As a result I am pretty cranky as I thought it would just be a matter of changing the cradle.
How did you guys get around this problem?
What do I need to make my CK-7W work with my 6120?
    Can anyone help please?
    ===============================
It took a bit of sleuthing around but I found the solution. Even the Guys at the Telstra shop were amazed.
First I needed a new Cradle so I could use the external aerial and as I often jump in the car with a close to flat Phone battery I also needed to be able to charge the phone in the cradle.
I do not have the part no for the cradle but it had Charger connections
Next for Charging I needed a RCD-N807 in line power Adapter
    And a RCD-N807 antenna.
I can now charge my phone from the cradle and have the advantage of an external antenna.
As for keeping my phone in my pocket, I have to say that I prefer it where I can see it so I can see who's calling etc and also being in the cradle it is easy to dial out.
As for Echo's I dont have any.
All I have to do now is to get my Palm pilot to talk to the phone.
Marvellous stuff technology, I thought it was supposed to make life easier not make it harder!

  • I don't have a receipt for my Macbook Pro - will Apple Care cover me?

I bought my Macbook Pro from someone who no longer had the receipt. It is the Dec 2011 model. I registered it and called Apple yesterday for help because the unit wouldn't charge. The guy told me about the Apple Care protection plan. I explained I didn't have a receipt and he said it was fine... when he had entered the serial number he could see the unit was registered to me. So I purchased the warranty.
This morning I received an email with confirmation of the purchase and letting me know that I would need my original receipt for the Macbook Pro if I needed it serviced. Anyone know which one it is?

I had my old macbook serviced a while back and I didn't have the receipt with me.
But because it was registered to me and my info on my Apple ID matches my stuff, they took it in for service without my receipt.
I guess it's up to whoever you deal with at the Apple Store when you need servicing.  It is however, best to have your receipt.  If all you have is the Apple Care receipt, use  that one, since they sold it to you and it corresponds to you MBP's serial number.
