I went online and changed the email address for my AppleID to update it to my new address. Now I am trying to figure out how to change the AppleID in my iPhone so that it uses this new ID with the new email address. I can't find a way to do that. I tried Settings/Store but it only displays my old AppleID and has no way to update it. Any suggestions on how to either reset the AppleID on my iPhone or change it so I can access apps etc. again?

JeffThanks Paul. This was not very intuitive, but once I did it it worked. There are several things that will throw someone off when they do this because after you sign out it, when you go to sign back in it asks if you want to use the same id again and its not apparent that it will let you change the email address at this point. So, one is more inclined to think they should use the option to create a new one which is the incorrect way to go. But, once I went ahead with the selection to use the same id it allowed me to put in the new email address and everything worked fine from that point on. You answer was perfect, spot on! Thanks for solving the mystery.

What versions did you have? Did you purchase the iApps with your Apple ID as some previous time?
Go into the System/iCloud preference pane and sign out. Then sign back in with your Apple ID. Also sign in to the App Store with your Apple ID. If you have purchased those apps previously you'll be able to download them for free from the Purchases section.

If it is on the iCloud Activation lock, then theres nothing you can do. But if your talking about the App Store, then go to the App Store, go to the featured tab, and go down to your Apple ID. Select it and press sign out. Then go back to the bottom and sign in.

No, not on the home screen. I clicked on Settings + Restrictions (which is set at "Yes" and I need to change it to "No") and the number pad came up and wanted the password. My son says its the password that was put on originally when the phone was new (by his ex-wife who owned the phone at the time.) So now I cannot retrieve the original password from her and cannot change the Restrictions setting and therefore, cannot fix my ITunes/Apps problem. So aggravating! But thanks for your response!

iTunes stores your iPhone backups in the Library folder in your Home folder.
iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes

I am unable to change my iCloud email address on my iphone. It is changed and verified in my account and when I log in to Cloud on my PC its fine. However when I go through the settings on my iphone (3GS) it still coming up with my now inactive old email address.

Make sure you don't delete any info when you see those prompts.

Thanks!No, they will all follow the default setting. If you want them all to fetch, for example every 15 minutes, then set it to 15 minutes in Fetch. I only mentioned the other if you wanted to leave one for manual. I have an account on my phone that is a POP account that I get mail at home from. I let my home computer get this mail, but when I am out of town, I pick it up with the iPhone. That one is set to manual.
