Not sure what to do because everything ive read says connect to the the computer you last used but obviously I dont have that computer so I dont knownwhat to do

Why in the world would you purchase a phone from a Pawn shop, that has a passcode on it, that you don't even know what it is.
returning it to the pawn shop wasn't a helpful answer.
It's your fault for buying a lemon iphone without first checking it.

Return it to the pawn shop and get your money back. The device is permanently locked and with the previous owner to unlock it you can never use it except as a paperweight.

Take it back to whomever you purchased it from and ask for a refund. There is no way to get past the "Activation Lock".

PHones can only be unlocked from the carrier; if you're looking for an unlocked device I'd recommand buying it directly from Apple as that is the only way to promise it is, if you buy it second hand you may find it is locked to a carrier who doesn't support unlocking, or worst yet activation lock

It is for anything running (if I remember correctly) iOS7 or iOS8 or later. You could conceivably buy a really old iPad that is incapable of upgrading that far (and probably not so deirable an item for you unless you're into old technology) and could be reset using a full restore. That's why they introduced this new feature.

Power the phone all the way off or turn on Airplane Mode. Log into iCloud.com with your Apple ID and password. Click on Find My iPhone then All Devices. You will see your iPhone showing as offline. Click on your iPhone. You should be able to select Remove Device. HTH

If your iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, only that wireless provider
can unlock it. Contact the wireless provider in Hong Kong to see if they
offer unlocking and if you qualify.
If your iPhone is locked to an AppleID that you do not know, return it for
a refund as it is useless. Only the person whose AppleID was used for
activation can remove the lock. There is no workaround for Activation Lock.
If neither of the above is what you are facing, provide more detail so someone
may offer a solution.

Apps are permanently tied to the AppleID that downloaded them and cannot be transferred to another. Best thing to do is delete the apps and download those you want or need under your AppleID.

Who is the carrier the iPhone is carrier locked with?
If the carrier has a blacklist for lost/stolen cell phones, it would be the carrier you need to contact.
