HT1688 IMessage takes to long to send when I am in LTE zones or WIFI

When ever I try to send a text through IMessage when I am clearly in a 3G, LTE, or WIFI zone, it takes way to long to send. Most of the time when I try to send a photo, I get a failure to send message.

Unlike phone numbers, IP Addresses are not normally location specific.  You should not be concerned about the location.  IP's are allocated as needed around the network.  Unless you pay for a static IP from VZW your public IP Address will change from time to time.
When you live on a fringe area, as you have suggested may be possible, then your device will struggle to stay connected to LTE on a consistent basis.  When the LTE signal drops below a certain performance threshold, your device will attempt to swich over to 3G and thats where alot of folks have issues.  Some devices allow you to lock into 3G only mode to work around this mechanic.
I suggest you stick with 3G only if you are looking for consistency, enabling LTE when you know you want to do something specific and then converting back to 3G only when you are done.  Not sure if this is possible with your Pantech modem but its worth looking it up in the manual.

on my mac why does it take so long to send a Email with an attachment, on my mac why does it take so lone to send a Email with an attachment

It depends on the size of the attachment and the speed of your internet connection.
Next time you send an email with an attachment do these two things:
In Apple Mail (I assume you are using Apple Mail), under the Window menu select Activity. Arrange the Activity window so you can see it.
Then open the separate application located in the Utilities folder called "Activity Monitor" and arrange it so you can see it at the same time as the Activity window in Mail.
In Activity Monitor program, select the tab labeled "Network." Watch the "Data sent/sec" portion. Then send your email, while watching the Mail Activity window and also the Activity Monitor program window Data sent/sec area.
You should see the mail being sent with a progress bar in the Mail Activity window and also you should be able to see how many bytes/sec or KB/sec or MB/sec your internet connection is giving you in the Activity Monitor window.
Example: my internet provider gives me about 20 Megabits per second download and 5 Megabits per second upload. To convert these to Megabytes per second (Activity Monitor shows things in bytes, not bits), simply divide by 10 (not the exact thing to do, but close enough). So I get 0.5 Megabytes per second upload speed. When I send a file that is 5 Megabytes in size, it takes about 10 seconds if I am getting the full upload bandwidth. If I am getting less than that (which sometimes happens), it will take proportionately more time. Either way, you can see what is happening with these two windows.
If your internet provider is supposed to give you, say, 5 Megabits/sec upload (0.5 Megabytes/sec), but you see only say, 5 KB/sec (=0.005 Megabytes/sec), sent in Activity Monitor, then your emails are taking a long time because you are getting only abut 1/100 the speed you should be. You might want to check with your internet provider about that.

  • HT201401 Why does it take so long to send text message iPhone 5

Why does it take so long to send text messages on iPhone 5?

What is telling you that it takes a long time? Do you have a good cellular signal when trying to send a text. Text messages are controlled by the carrier. What troubleshooting have you done on the phone?

  • Why does it take so long to send emails?

why does it take so long to send emails on my ipad?

This is dependent on a lot of things, 3G or Wi-Fi? Any attachments in the email which may take a long time to upload, length of the email in general, corporate security checks could be in place and slowing it down as well?

  • HT3209 where are my TV series which I purchase on Apple TV stored? Why do they take so long to open when we want to watch them?

where are my TV series which I purchase on Apple TV stored? Why do they take so long to open when we want to watch them?

That would be due to your network.
    Some common things to check
    Current connection, use speedtest.net
Go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of your network, it will help see if there's interference.
On Apple TV go to settings - general - network. Make sure DNS is set to automatic.

  • Text messages do not send or takes too long to send

When i try to send a text they wont send at all or they will take forever to send. i'll also receive texts 30 minutes after they were originally sent.

First, when was the last time you deleted any messages?  This problem is usually due to too many messages both sent and received.  You might try to delete old threads or start all over fresh.  Also, the SIM may be at fault, so make sure it is seated snuggly and correctly in the slot.  I will say that it takes a long time to delete all messages and also takes time to delete large amounts at the same time.  This is the first 2 steps I would try before going on to anything else.  Again, while deleting, it will take some time and may appear that your phone has frozen.  So, do this when you can let the phone sit idle.

  • Should photos take so long to send?

On Skype, my friends and I like sending pics to each other. Problem is, when I send one, it usually take FOREVER! It usually is a while until the person I sent it to sees it. Sometimes it doesn't take that long however. But sometimes, it just says "waiting" and practically never sends. Any suggestions?

  • Takes too long to send photos

The photos on my ip4 are too large, when sent with text it takes too long, they megas instead of kilos. Can this be adjusted?

Daniel:  I took a look at your code and don't see any problem with it.  However, doing the math:
    19,200 BAUD = 19,200 BITS per second.
    10 BITS per BYTE ( 1 BIT start + 8 BITS data + 1 BIT stop = 10)
    19,200 BAUD = 19,200/10 BITS per BYTE = 1,920 BYTES per second
1,920 BYTES per second / 1000 milliseconds per second = 1.92 BYTES per millisecond (ms)
Now the above would not be a problem since you are only waiting for one character (which should only take 0.52 ms), however, you are sending 5 bytes.  That's a total of 6 bytes round trip or 6 * 0.52 ms = 3.12 ms.
In addition, having "Enable Terminating Char" on your VISA Configure Serial Port can't be helping unless your serial LIN device requires it because having to wait for a teminating character on a read or write (in your case it appears you are using a 0x0A or line feed) increases the number of characters that need to be transmitted.
Another thought just came to me:  If your serial device is sending a terminating character, it is possible you may have a second read operation each cycle due to the 0x0A (line feed) and the fact that your code only reads one byte at a time from the serial port.  This may also add some time to your response.
    I hope this helps.

  • In attempting a slide show in PSE 08 w/275 pics, PSE warns .. take a long time, sends me to Bridge.

I am attempting to create my first slide show in PSE, version 08.  I have a Mac OS with 199.03 GB available.  I have selected and organized 275 photos.  When I select "PDF Slide Show" under the CREATE option, I am warned twice that it will take a long time.  Then I am sent over to Bridge where these photos appear, all organized.   Nothing happens.  Is there something going on in PSE that takes a long time and I cannot see?

You can't do any of that in the mac version even if you have 2 photos. The so-called slideshow is basically a multipage pdf document that displays transitions as it turns pages. That's it.
EDIT By "turns pages " I mean "changes from one page to the next".

  • Takes too long to hibernate when I close the lid - Also random device noise when it boots up

    Hello guys.
Ever since i've wiped the machine, i've been having these two problems. When I close the lid, it used to go to sleep straight away, but now I can see the sleep light (and the power button) flash and flash, then it goes to sleep.
When waking up it goes through the lenovo startup screen and resuming windows, then it asks for a password, before I used to open the lid and it would ask me for the password straight away. I know it was going to sleep because I could hear the beep straight away when I closed and opened it, but now it just takes too long.
Also, everytime I boot up into windows or resume into windows from a sleep state, I can hear the device noise, like something is being plugged in/out. But there is nothing being plugged in or out at the time. I can't get to device manager quick enough to see what it is that is causing it.
    But all drivers seem okay.
    Thanks in advance.
    Sam.
EDIT: Also noticed, when the lid is closed, randomly the laptop turns off (hear the beep) an then turns back off again.
    Weird.

  • Why does FiOS internet take so long to connect when I boot my computer?

Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2.    M424WR modem/router.    Every time I turn on my computer or even if I reboot, internet takes up to 2 minutes to be able to use.    My computer doesn't detect any internet connection until, it seems, it's good and ready.   The modem is NEVER turned off and everything else in the house dependant on the internet connection doesn't have a problem.   Phones, wireless lap tops, or the PS3.    Why does it do this?  I have put IHA messenger on manual in startup.  But I still get the same problem.   Is there any way to fix this?  It's so annoying.
    And Please, Verizon support, don't send me any private messages that say to call verizon support or asking me to send you my verizon account info.  I absolutely HATE that when you guys do that.   I'm not spending half my day on hold, and you don't need to know that to answer why the computer is taking so long to find the internet connection.   If you don't know why it's doing it, then say you don't know why, or better yet, don't even respond at all.  {Please keep your posts courteous}

I have both an XP machine and a Win7 laptop. Both take time after booting to access the network.  The culprit is Norton (Symantec). In both cases it runs a security check BEFORE it allows network access.
You may not have Symantec products installed, but if you have any other antivirus software it it probably doing the same thing.

  • Why does it take so long to send an email?

    Hey all
When sending an email using my business domain address, my iPhone 5 takes AGES!  Anyone know why?
    Thanks

That sounds like a good question for your business IT support department.  Most likely, it is using Exchange, and trying to connect with an incorrect server name/IP address, and it has to wait for that to timeout before it re-tries with the correct server information.  It may also be due to security settings, or several other possibilities.  Your business IT support team should have a better idea how to configure your email than we will.

Not nearly enough data for me to hazard a guess:
    1. How is your server connected to the internet?
    2. Is this for every message, or was one stuck?
    3. How large was the message?
    4. How did you send it to your server?
    5. How many messages are there in the queue?
    6. Were there any errors logged into your mail.log_current?
