My iPad is sending a notification of No Sim. Has anyone experienced this?

I experienced this shortly after I got my iPad. I went to the AT&T store, they put a new SIM card in and it's been fine ever since.

  • IPad (III) dies 4 weeks after Applecare ends. Has anyone experienced this?

One of my iPad (III)'s "bricked" when I proceeded to update to the latest version of iOS 7. It just displays an iTunes logo and a picture of the adapter plug. Wjen I plugged it to my MBP and iTunes, I got the message that the iPad must be "restored" and there is no S/N displayed.
It also happens to be about 4 weeks after the Applecare expired.
    Has anyone experienced this behavior?
    Thanks for your help.

Just an update on my issue with the iPad.
I observed a problem syncing my other iPad getting some error code -50. After a search on-line and the Apple Support I found a suggestion to change the USB - 30 pin cable then retry.
With that change, my problem in syncing my other iPad went away.
So I tried the same with the first iPad. Presto. I was able to restore the iPad with current operating system software then get all the apps etc. back.
Still no answer why the first iPad went into a "retore" mode after "upgrading" to iOS 7.1.1.
But lesson learnt, when having a connectivity problem, check cable as one of the items.
    Thanks again.

This shouldn't happen. Take it back since it's new.

  • TS3274 my IPad has one half of the screen with vertical multi colored stripes and the other half is normal.  Has anyone experienced this and has a solution?

My IPad has one half of the screen with vertical multi colored stripes and the other half is normal.  Has anyone had this problem and if so is there a solution?

You could have a hardware issue, but try this and see if it helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • I attempted to email a picture from my iPad Camera.  The system locked up.  Has anyone had this experience and if so how was it cleared? And when cleared how can I send a pic without locking it up again?  Thank you

See above re lock up email when sending pic from carera on iPad.

I'm sure others will disagree with this, but rather than email directly from the camera app, email the photo from the Camera Roll album in the Photos app. When you snap the photo - the picture is saved in the Photos app. You should be able to email directly from the camera app, but if it causes problems, try emailing from the Photos app.
There are any number of reasons why the app may have locked up. Unless you can recreate the issue and can pin it down step by step, there is no definitive way to track down the cause.

  • Ipad screen flickering - Has anyone experienced this?

My Ipad screen flickers when there is a bright light in the field of the camera. Is this a wide spread problem?

    Hi Mac OS 9000,
If it flickers when you take pictures then the use case you mention makes sense.
But I would consider it a problem because I was able to see the screen flicker when I was using skype video call.
I was able to see flickering in the following applications
    1. Camera
    2. Facetime
    3. Skype (video call)
    4. Oovoo (video chat)

  • Has anyone experienced the mute switch / auto-rotate switch iOS bug on their ipad?

Has anyone experienced the mute switch / auto-rotate switch iOS bug on their ipad?
I have experienced this on iPad 1 as well as iPad 2.
Basically, when you set the side switch to toggle screen orientation (or mute), after a period of use I will have either my sound cease to function or the ipad screen will not orient correctly.  This depends on what i have chosen the side switch to toggle.  I am not sure what causes it.  The time it takes for the problem to appear is inconsistent. Some say it is caused by third party applications.
One can find numerous threads on here if you search for "sound on my ipad stopped working" or "orientation not working".  It appears to be the same problem. Fudging with the toggle switch settings can fix it (but it takes a weird order to get it out of its non functioning loop).
Here is a thread that addresses the sound issue:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/15263298#15263298

Its only for notifications.. it is not for sound from videos or music!

  • TS1702 I cannot get the keyboard to come up on the ipad mini when in the citrix receiver.  Has anyone ran into this and do you know how to fix it?

I cannot get the keyboard to come up on the ipad mini when in the citrix receiver.  Has anyone ran into this and do you know how to fix it?

I am not familiar with Citrix Reciever but is it possible it is open or being used in another open app?
Try quitting all apps then try again.
Quit all apps: Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up for each open app

  • My iPhone 5 won't discover my iPad or any other devices via Bluetooth. Has anyone else experienced this?

My iPhone 5 won't discover my iPad or any other devices via Bluetooth. Has anyone else experienced this?

You haven't said which generation iPad you have, but this article might help you regardless:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
I imagine Keynote Remote uses Audio/Video Remote Control Profile which should be available on both your iPhone and iPad.
I think you're saying that since you got the new iPhone 5, these two things occur:
    1.  Your iPhone cannot discover your iPad
    2.  Your iPad cannot discover your iPhone.
If that's true, when you turn on Bluetooth on each of the devices, you might see old devices listed that are no longer used.  If you do, I suggest clicking the white arrow to the right of such devices and clicking "Forget this device".

  • My iPad will not connect to a computer with the cable which  means no updates or down loads. I have tried new cables and different computers. Has anyone seen this before?

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Possibly. Do you have other devices and will they connect?
One possible thing that it could be is that the USB port on your iPad has gone bad. It happened to mine. Couldn't sync, could barely charge (it said 'not charging' even when plugged into the wall)
I'd take it to the apple store, see if they can replicate it, and if they can, then they can diagnose it. Just back it up before you go, in case they do exchange it.

  • Has anyone experienced Apple Mail flattening .PSD file attachment when sending?

One of my students encountered the case when Apple Mail flattens .PSD file when sending an attachment.
Running latest Mac OS X 10.6.2 (10C540) Mail Version 4.2 (1077). Multi layered .PSD file 120K was saved on desktop and than attached to email. None of the Adobe applications were running at that time. After it was sent, the attached file in Send mail folder was flattened and it size dropped to 88K.
The flattened file was sent to destination. Although we could not reproduce this problem on the other computers, it always happens on this particular machine.
When the problem was reported to Apple, the answer from engineers was more disturbing than the problem itself.
They said "... it is OK to flatten the file to reduce the size of attachment when sending. It is expected email behavior". I am very troubled by this attitude from Apple. Flattening the image discards information contained in individual layers. This is actually EDITING the contents of an attachment when sending it.
Has anyone experience this problem? Also, I would appreciate feedback on Apple's position that it is OK to edit attachments when sending them withou asking the user first.

    Marian,
I'm afraid you have missed the point. People send binary files via email all the time: images, video and music clips - in fact any attachment is a binary file. Underlying protocols are implementation details, a mail client may choose any form of encoding/encryption to send an attachment. However, the internet standard requires that an attached file is delivered exactly as it was sent, mail clients/servers are not allowed to take upon themselves to "optimize" attachments without the end user knowledge and permission. It creates a dangerous precedent. In this particular case my photography student had no way of knowing that for whatever reason his particular setup would flatten the image and ruin his homework.
Also, none of the protocols: FTP, SMTP or HTTP is inherently binary or MIME encoded, it depends on the settings and implementation ( Check RFC's)
I am not asking for a work around, which is trivial. I am simply trying find how serious is the problem. This is not a normal behavior, I know for certain only about two cases when it happens. With such a rare occurrence it seem to be a bug rather than a feature. That is why Apple reaction to is so surprising.

  • HT4943 I bought a magazine subscription on my iPAD and after being charged, it does not come up on my screen.  Has anyone had this problem?

I bought a magazine subscription on my iPAD and after being charged, it does not come up on my screen.  Has anyone had this problem?
When I click on the magazine, my screen is just blank.  I can see the purchase, and in my settings/store, the magazine shows "ON".

I would do a power cycle/reset of your device first, if you haven't, to rule that out.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that doesn't help, talking to iTunes customer support would be in order...or whoever you purchased the magazine subscription through.

If the magazine is browser based, you might also try another browser.  I like "Atomic Browser".  It is available on the app store.

  • D800 file compatibility:  Has anyone experienced problems with loading D800 files onto the iPad using the camer connector kit?  I have tried both RAW and JPEG using SDHC and CF cards and the iPad(3) doesnt recognise any of the files.

Has anyone experienced problems with downloading Nikon D800 files to the iPad3 using the camer connector kit?  I have tried .RAW and JPEG (of various sizes) on both SD and CF cards, but the iPad doesn't recognise the files.
I have seen various forums discussing Lightroom and PSE updates that are required to process .NEF files but I can't find anything on the iPad/camera connector issue.
I dont have any problem if I put the SD card straight into the SD slot in my iMac and Aperture will process the files fine, but I would really like to be able to download and view files on the move on the iPad.
    Any advice appreciated?
PS - saw something that suggested the iPad had a maximum file size of 16mb for photos, not sure if this is correct, but I have tried smaller JPEG files and they still aren't recognised.

If your camera supports both PTP and Mass Storage Device modes, it may be necessary to use both modes to import all media content.
If some files do not import as expected using one mode, try switching to the other mode and importing again.
Note: Some cameras may refer to PTP as Pictbridge or PTP/Pictbridge.
