HT1688 My new iphone 5c has started blacking out then the apple appears and then it comes back on. What is causing this?
Is anyone else having the same problem... My iphone 5c will be working fine, then fade away and the apple will appear. It takes a minute and then the phone is back up and working? What is causing this to happen?
Phone is under warranty. Take it back to the store for exchange.

Could be a hardware failure such as a HD going south. Please carefully read and follow the suggestion Apple provides in Gray screen appears during startup.

I attempted to upgrade the software on my iPad 2 and I got a message that said "unable to restore Ipad due to error". Now the iPad had a black screen with the Apple symbol and the processing symbol going around and around. When I tried to re connect it to iTunes is says "cannot connect to this iPhone due to error". How do I reset the ipad?

My ipod classic freeze itunes and my pc to the point of having to force shut down.Help plz i dont know what else to do, i took it to the apple store and they restore for me but when i came home it freezes itunes and my pc, i tried and older itunes, format the ipod and restore it, ran disk erros, am i missing something?! The guy at the shop told me is an "antique" , i bought it a year ago only and barely used it, i feel lile burned money, ipod classic is my favorite model, any suggestions plzzzz!!!!
Glad 7.7.1 worked for you, I updated itunes on my macbook, and every time i try to sync the music to my ipod classic, it goes for 23 songs and then it freezes and I get "Cannot read or write to this disk", and it ejects it. I tried uninstalling itunes, reinstalling an earlier version (7.6.2) same problem, plus a new issue with itunes. (It was a clean uninstall, btw, I got everything cleaned out, I think, lol). Video's transfer fine. And no good way to get ahold of apple. That's great. If I have no music on my ipod, it's useless. Think they'll give me my money back? (lol)

Apple TV has started blacking out
Apple TV has started blacking out completely for a few seconds, then coming back onsceen skipping content played during those seconds. More and more frequent until recently it will be several minutes before I can even get a screen to turn it off. At first, it seemed to be associated with play time, like it might be overheating or something. Clueless. I have done software updates and even a factory reset.
I am experiencing something similar. My blackout is very brief - about 1 full second - and audio playback continues through my AV receiver during this blackout. In other words, the Apple TV continues to stream whatever I am watching but the video signal is briefly lost. I've tested different HDMI-in ports on my TV as well as different HDMI-outs on my AV receiver, and I am almost positive it is the Apple TV that is failing. I am unable to replicate the blackout via any other device (TiVo, bluray, etc.) I am going to start regularly rebooting the Apple TV to see if that helps. Any other feedback is hugely appreciated. It has been on this black screen with the apple logo and some small white writing at the top of the screen for many hours. I've tried rebooting it and connecting to iTunes but nothing has worked.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!It likely means there was still water inside it and something has now shorted out and permanently damaged one or more components. THE very worst thing you can do with wet electronics is energize them - even a small drop of water inside on any of the circuitry or electrical contacts can cause catastrophic damage.
Take it to Apple for a free evaluation, but most likely you will need to replace it. For the out of warranty fee ($269.00 USD) you will get a refurbished replacement (like new, with a factory new screen and battery). An out of warranty replacement will also re-instate your remaining warranty, or 90 days warranty, whichever is longer. -
iphone has been in recovery mode for 4 hours and hasn't come back to the home screen and how can i fix this and get it back to working order?

My iphone 5 will freeze up and turn off and back on. It will go to the apple screen and then go black MULTIPLE times before it comes back on. No buttons work while this happens. My phone is a week old.
User troubleshooting is restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If you perform these steps and it still doesn't work, then make an appointment at the Apple Genius bar and have the hardware checked.

even via time machine the new osx lion has deleted all my latest files in iPhoto and will only revert back to an old 2009 backup?... Help?!
Have you verified that the original files are missing from the Originals/Masters folder? There are time when the library might appear empty due to a damaged database file but still has the files. If you can open the library package via the Finder to see if the files are really missing or just can't be seen by iPhoto there are fixes you can try.
If the files are there make a temporary, backup copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

My iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1 will randomly stop what I'm doing show a black screen then the spinning icon and then it shows my lockscreen. It takes about a minute to do this and it does it about 30 times a day. How do I fix this? It is EXTREMELY ANNOYING!
No, sounds like when you dropped it an cracked the screen it may have also damaged the logic board or the repair person damaged a cable.

Having the imei won't help you find your phone.
If you setup and enabled find my phone prior to losing it then go to icloud.com
If you didn't set it up - then there nothing you can do.

My Iphone 4s is plugged in charging after it has fully died. Instead of the apple appearing and staying constant on the screen...the apple is blinking. What does this mean and how do I get the phone to charge/turn back on.

iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Next try letting the battery fully drain. After charging for a least an hour try again
- Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store, it appears you have a hardware problem.
